The one thing that helped me as a freshman was deciding to treat it as a full time job, devoting 40 hours per week to classes and studying. Start long term assignments right away, create a schedule and stick to it. If a professor suggests a reference might be helpfull, use it.
This is definitely a mentality that has helped me in college too. The amount of free time you have is insane so if you really put your mind to it, it becomes very easy to achieve a 4.0!
Pretty sure Ive written this before but avoid college bookstores! Just look for the nearest thrift store to your campus and there will be a ton of the same merchandise for way cheaper. There’s also a chance you can find some super cool vintage stuff of your school too
Thank you for the awesome advice. I just want to let you know that ever since I came across your channel, you really motivated me to apply to fsu and now I’m a freshman here. Thank you for inspiring me.
That just made my whole day today🥺🥺 I'm so happy I was able to help so much because that's the reason I make these videos for you guys!! If you ever need anything feel free to reach out and if you see me around campus come say hi!!
Another banger! Textbooks are crazy man. My parents tell me all the time about how expensive they are, and they couldn’t be more right! It’s crazy! But thanks to you, now I know I don’t gotta blow all that money! Thanks Ashton! Keep it up!
Yeah man, those textbooks are insane! I definitely stay away from them as much as I can because they can be up to $250 dollars USED!! Crazy!! I'm glad I could help man, money is tight as a college kid so anything I can do to help, I'm happy to do!
You're videos are always the best! I can't stress that enough, they're hilarious, easy to grasp and straight to the point. I'm so grateful for your videos! As a 17 yr old going to University of AZ as a homeschooler, I know I'm gonna have a culture shock. But in my first few months I'm gonna prioritize my workout regime and making friends. How does that sound Ashton? I hope u have a wonderful day man!
Hey Mason! I'm so happy the videos have been helping my man! Adjusting to college is tricky at times, but your plan to prioritize yourself and making friends is awesome!! If you ever have any questions or need advice I'm here to help my man❤️
@@ashtonherndon Thank you so much "my man"!!! I wonder how I can juggle my school work as a major in marketing/entrepreneur with clubs and social activities? That'll probably be my weak area.
Heyy thank you again for your video!! Really helpful 😎 especially for the books that are SOOOOO expensive 🙄 After one week at FSU I realized that eating healthy is going to be kinda hard, could you maybe make a video about the best ways to eat a bit healthy at FSU? It would be awesome 👌👌
I'm so glad this helped! I know books get crazy expensive so anything I can do to help! Healthy eating is a little tricky so I can definitely do something in the next few weeks about food on campus!!
I used rate my professor but like anything hit or miss. Even if some professors that got high rates on rate my professor sometimes that doesn't always mean they were the best. I had this one BIO science professor he was tough as nails his tests were hard. Could not make the connection between his lectures and his class notes. Sometimes some professors I met hit or miss. Some nice friendly some not nice no matter how hard I tried and put the effort and the work.
I wanted to go to the involvement fair but had stuff come up, the student movie theater group was on of the things I wanted to join but I do not have any information on it
Hey no worries!! If you go to the Askew Student Life Center, they usually have flyers with all the info for different departments within the student cinema. just ask the people at the desk and they can hook you up!
Great advice. Thanks. Do you have vdos about studying skills? It will be good for incoming freshmen to learn those skills before they start their college life.
I have one friend who is currently in it and they absolutely love it! it really has a ton of resources and is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people!!

Thrift stores are the way to go! You wont have that awkward encounter w the 100 freshman with the same hoodie on if it's one of a kind!

They should have those habits way before college
Do you have a video for what computer/ipad you should get?
Hi Ashton, what would you say would be the most important rules shared between you and your roommate
