Best ever Ikea all things Eket video sharing! I managed to disassemble tonight so I can sleep well now! Hello from Singapore, hope your family and you are well. Now watching the rest of your other videos
Thanks a lot Tania. This video is really very popular on my channel. My family is very happy, so life is wonderful. Thanks for supporting my channel, i like to make videos about building stuff :)
Thanks, it is so nice feeling to get feedback for my videos :) Just take your time and enjoy the process ;) They are really practical, especially with the kids, when things need to move higher :D
thank you so much for posting this!! I diyed a rubber mallet by sticking a tennis ball on my hammer but the pillow punch method might’ve been even quicker 😅
None of ours fit together this easily. We had to use a mallet to get them together. I did learn something from this video though. I had no idea why they said to not screw that one screw all the way in. Now I know it is for leveling it later. Thank you!
Very helpful thank you. Have just realised I threw away the templates lol. I didn't realise you needed extra wall brackets when we purchased the Eket Cabinets for hanging off the floor.
Thanks! Install the mountings on eket and with transparent film make exact marking of holes and box itself, so you can use that as a template. Or maybe you can print it out from ikea homepage user manual template?
Is it an issue that the cupboards can be lifted up and dismounted? I'll be storing all my piano booksin mine. I was going to use kitchen cabinet mounting brackets instead which prevent vertical movement
Hello Mr Bekong. I have this kind of anchors. I just didnt use that special tool. Instead i just screwed that backing into place. www.amazon.com/Glarks-Anchor-Setting-Assortment-Plasterboard/dp/B07F32QFWB/ref=sr_1_71?crid=2AF9GSMBB47RQ&dchild=1&keywords=drywall+anchors&qid=1595833063&sprefix=drywall%2Caps%2C251&sr=8-71
You probably did mean cm, not mm. They have plastic legs with them to mount on the floor. But if you dont like legs, then mounting rails on the eket feels really strong and i have put there some serious weight to test them. Just make sure to use a proper anchors for that.
Hey noggon, you probably bought an floor mounting version. It is some 4€ cheaper than wall mounting version. So you can buy separately special special mountings like that: www.ikea.ee/et/products/magamistuba/kummut/susteemkapid/eket-riputussiin-art-00340047
Hi! My dad is worried that if we put these shelves into drywall that they will fall/break off. Do you think that will happen with the anchors you’re using?
Hy, my anchors are strong and im not worried about break off. If you have doubts, then you can use 3 anchors for one rail. Or find a stud with the magnet.
Very good video! I have mine ready, just need to start with the achors and the templates...The only thing I'm curious and unsure about is how close you put up the template to eachother? (I dont have lazers) Can you adjust the Eket shelf sideways a bit when you have the railings up? I'm just anxious about not getting them close enough or too close. Any tip?
Hey Karolin. Yes, they move few centimeters on sides, so no problems with getting them in right place. Only up and downwards you can adjust few millimeters, so that need to be properly drilled. If you dont have tools to level them, then you can use some rope or thin thread and tie some heavy stuff on that. So with this you can get leveled vertical line. For horizontal level you can use floor or roof for levels, or transparent pipe with water, so water will show you the level line.
Hey Hafiz. Hard to imagine to hang them without drilling. Maybe using an epoxy glue? I suggest to rent special machine, which locate wires in the wall and then you can drill near to them.
Hello Marek. Interesting demo. What are the name or references of the rail used to hang the shelves please ? I’d like to know where I can buy them (on internet ? Ikea shop ?...). Thanks in advance.
In the video, you fix the templates on the wall (in order to make holes by the drill). I can see two laser lines along which you allign the sheets of paper. Which laser tool is that?
@@zantak0 Yeah, now I understand. It is called Self-Leveling Cross-Line Red Beam Laser. Check under the video description, I have there some affiliate link. There are different level of quality lasers. Mine was bosch. Now I have makita.
I have the one with the door but it makes a loud squeak sound so I’m not sure what happened I think it’s uneven. Is there a way to remove the door? (Also nice accent!)
Hey Amanda. Hard to say what can be wrong. Maybe just some wear? Mine one year old and have no issues. I think only way to get them out is to dissassemble the frame or just by breaking that plastic connectors.

Thank you Marek for your amazing video that explained exactly what the screws are for (levelling the shelf). You saved us so much confusion!
I just bought these shelves for my daughter’s room. Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial!
Thank you too for leaving nice feedback.
Leveling screws! I wondered what those were for ! Thanks for your video.
Thank you for posting such a helpful video. You also gave me some inspiration for a different pattern in hanging the boxes!
Yes, these boxes still look good for me and working perfectly ;)
Great video! Really clear and informative. This will be a real help in installing my shelves very soon. Cheers from the States!
Thanks, it is so nice feeling to get feedback for my videos :) Just take your time and enjoy the process ;) They are really practical, especially with the kids, when things need to move higher :D
This was by far the most helpful Eket video!! Thank you 🌻
Thanks, was easy to make it ;)
thank you so much for posting this!! I diyed a rubber mallet by sticking a tennis ball on my hammer but the pillow punch method might’ve been even quicker 😅
Yes, a faster proper penetration :D
I have 15 Eket shelves to install. This video is very helpful demonstrating the assembly as well as anchoring to the wall.
Thanks for watching my video. 15 shelves is a lot of work. Be careful with your hands, when hammering together.
Thank you for showing this. I am going to buy some to hang on the wall and wondered how the rails would work.
Thank you also for a like and a nice comment. Just make sure to buy the wall mounted version from ikea ;).
Thank you nice man on the internet!
Good video, includes disassembly from the wall as well
Thank you Mark for good feedback.
Thank you ❤ i was on the verge of tears 😅
you sound like count dracula....great video
Thanks for such a nice compliment :)

Yes, they are tuff to fit in, but once they are mounted, they are solid and looks good ;) I just used my hands as a mallet :D
Very helpful thank you. Have just realised I threw away the templates lol. I didn't realise you needed extra wall brackets when we purchased the Eket Cabinets for hanging off the floor.
I threw them as well :)) luckly i found one
Good video. Many thanks. Got 7 to do tomorrow
It is really enjoyable work to do. Especially when you are prepared and have done some homework :)
I’m glad they come with templates !
Thanks a lot sir. Really good tutorial for the installation. Good video. Keep it up.
Do you remember what size anchor and screw for stone/brick wall?
I had drywall. But for stone is 8 millimeters good enough.
Thanks. That’s what I got. Honestly this stuff is the biggest load of shit. I never joins up straight when you put the 4th side on. Terrible.
@@nosubtv4242 Yeah, my hands got some small pain the next day :D Use some carpet below it and hang 4th panel over it, when hitting.
do you have to find the studs on wall before screwing in the screws?
In the stud is easier to screw, but there are special anchors for just drywall also. Studs are usually with 60cm step.
@@MarekKubi Thank u man, just finished installing 3 of them yesterday
Is It possible install led stripes?
Of course, if you have some skills with that work.
Where did you get the brackets from?
It will come in a box when you buy a wall mounted version of the eket. I believe you can buy them separately from ikea.
I threw away those paper thing's for guidance since I didn't know that they're used like that. What do I do?
Hey, try to find the virtual manual on the ikea homepage and print it out.
I was wondering can I use the screws that from IKEA screw set? I don't see the ones you used in video in IKEA website.
It depends from the wall material, but screws or anchors you need to buy separately.
Can you help me; how is this removed of the wall;
Great video! Our two Ekets didn't come with the templates and now we're not sure how to prepare the wall mounting. Any ideas?
No, they need to be moved in two directions for dismounting. By moving only up, they do not dismount.
What drywall anchors are you using

can you mout the larger 35mmx 70mm cupboards to the wall just above skirting, or will they be too heavy
You probably did mean cm, not mm. They have plastic legs with them to mount on the floor. But if you dont like legs, then mounting rails on the eket feels really strong and i have put there some serious weight to test them. Just make sure to use a proper anchors for that.
What anchor did u use for the drywall can u share the link or name plz?
Mine didn't come with the stuff required to hang the shelves to the wall, did you get them from the box or from your own stuff

How can I make sure the stencil/template is level on the wall if I do not have a laser level? I'm attempting to install my cabinets this week :)
Hey Wesley, use thin rope or thread with some weight. It will show you leveled vertical line.
Thank you for sharing!
Great video! Instead drill the wall, do you have other alternative to hang this eket? I have concealed wiring in the wall.
Hey Hafiz. Hard to imagine to hang them without drilling. Maybe using an epoxy glue? I suggest to rent special machine, which locate wires in the wall and then you can drill near to them.
There are stud finders on the market that also detect wiring.
I threw away the templates what should I do now I want to wall mount them lol
Lol, maybe you can print them out from ikea eket manual on the webpage?
Hello Marek. Interesting demo. What are the name or references of the rail used to hang the shelves please ? I’d like to know where I can buy them (on internet ? Ikea shop ?...). Thanks in advance.
Hey Eduardo. Go to your local Ikea homepage, put EKET in the search and sort by price. The rails comes with around 4€ per piece.
@@MarekKubi Found it ! Thank you so much !

its all about the "proper penetration." make sure you use the right pillow for comfort and don't break the item in hand.
Yes, a proper penetration can make magic sometimes.
I randomly skipped to 2:45 and laughed for 4 seconds.
thats what she said ...
2:44 😳
Those front door panels are a fingerprint magnet...
You crack me up
Can you help me please; How is this removed from the wall;
Hey, you need to pull lower part from the wall and then when it click, push up.
