This video is a bit shorter than it should have been due to me messing up some of the filming at the end. But, I'm curious, how long do you wish these videos were? What do you wish you could see more of?
I really dont mind longer videos. I'm here to support the art , the medium, and the artist. You really cant learn technique if art is sped up. The learning is in the nuance of watching how it is handled. Make as long as you need,
You certainly do live in a beautiful place. Where I live in the UK, the area is know as the fens, very flat, crisscrossed with water drainage channels and some areas actually below sea level. You need sky painting in your skill set to paint here 🤔
It's easy to take for granted the beauty that is around us. Painting has helped me look for it. I feel lucky to be able to do it and try to share it. Thanks for watching and the kind comments.
This was great! I am just getting started but have done all my drawing outside! That's where I find inspiration in my yard with several different types of hibiscus! They are amazing to sketch! Really enjoy your channel!
Really like the thought of picking a drawing place by way of involuntary smiling…here in Minnesota we don’t have mountains so I’m enjoying yours. Thanks for the inspiration to just get out there. Minnesota does have beautiful natural areas too. They’re just flatter. Haha
@@PaintWithPencil Yes, Minnesota’s lakes and northern forests are great for artists. Capturing water colors with watercolors, so to speak, is endlessly rewarding.
I love your attitude. Will watch more as I am interested not only in your painting but how you set up to paint. Especially since I am now confined pretty much to a wheel chair..but itching to create.
Thanks! I hope you can get some good ideas that work for you from a few of them. I show how I made the box I use in this video. It works great while sitting and is quite portable. ua-cam.com/video/vs1jEvxsVOw/v-deo.html
Nice work! Could you finish with watercolor pencils dry on dry instead of using regular colored pencils? (I only have WC pencils, no regular ones…) Thanks!
Good question. Yes you can finish off with dry watercolor pencils and leave them dry. I've done that a lot too. I have another video that is sort of a good example of that here: ua-cam.com/video/WWeL2K-vJGQ/v-deo.html I think I just like showing different approaches just to share ideas to explore with. The texture of the regular color pencils is different then the watercolor pencils. "Regular" pencils can be shinier. Opacity varies across the types of pencils and colors too. So I guess I just go with what I think I might like the look of in the moment.
@@PaintWithPencil Hello, I watched the video, interesting! I only have aquarelle paint and the Albrecht Durer set, I’m in doubt what to purchase next. Quality regular colored pencils (to finish off, for their briggtness) or neocolor 2’s, because it’s a different medium and in that way it seems to be more of an additional worth - in the meaning of I already have ‘pencils’, though they are WC pencils…. What do you think?
In case you were wondering. That bird was likely a Chipping Sparrow. They are pretty common in this area.
Thanks. I thought it was a Cedar Waxwing but they usually travel in groups. Lovely artwork, I just subscribed 😊
I enjoy your videos so much ! Your voice over is so informative and calming. Also I love your idea to exploring art ! Looking forward to more videos☺️
These kind of comments make my day. Thanks so much!

❤❤❤I love the process, it makes me want to try
You can do it!

I hope to see Minnesota one day. I've heard some great things about it.

I like your set up! Did you put together your own plein air easel?
Yup! I show how I made the box in this video ua-cam.com/video/vs1jEvxsVOw/v-deo.html

@frederikdebondt6548 All good choices... follow your heart 😃
Ruby crown kniglet?
Kinglets are cool birds. I still think the one in the video is a Chipping Sparrow. It's size is bigger than a Kinglet. Thanks for watching the video.
