personally i think lore is important. it shows you have this story telling ability and care about your character model in a deeper way. plus it helps with merch design and especially artists who want to someday maybe make a sona based off of your model’s lore
Having lore and playing into it CAN be beneficial, but for the brevity of Nijisanji applications, it would end up being a waste of space where you could've hunkered down on your ability to stream (and be entertaining). Unless lore and writing is your niche and what you want to put out as a talent, I think it would be best to ignore it for the audition/video. Every Vtuber has lore, every Vtuber likes their model; it doesn't make you stand out or feel special to them if you talk about your design (which they will ultimately change for you if you get in.) Your goal first and foremost in this audition form is to show that you can do the job well. Can't sell cute merch of your avatar if no one wants to buy it 😅

Especially since it's written on the audition form that for the video, you'd need a small snippet of acting in-character, which kinda does need at least a little lore. Not to mention since Nijisanji is filled to the brim with people that pretty much only stream games while talking about their IRL day, and their character lore is a one-time use bait that then is thrown into the trash, having people that can do more creative stuff with their character (which you don't need permissions for since it's original) can really help. And the initial comment just really shows what people want, but isn't catered to.
Honestly, while lore is interesting, I think I can count on one hand the amount of Vtubers that do seem to once in a while bring their lore into their content. And very few seem to be "playing their character", more often than not it's "the face of the character but everything else is the person behind the character".
I came into this thinking "oh gee, it can't be THAT bad, Lycoris is pretty okay at things!" and then I saw the watermark over the first video and completely lost it laughing. Aaah.... you tried. It was kind of adorable, honestly? "And I shoot him, like a princess" speaks to something deep into my own somewhat embarrassing heart. If you'd have delivered the same premise with absolutely unwavering confidence, that might not have won you a job but it'd have been pretty fun!
I auditioned for a big company recently but it was only to encourage my friend to submit theirs since they felt better knowing we both submitted. i did mine in 4 hours with my phone in one take. I'd be shocked if they didnt hard black list me from auditioning in the future lol

A self introduction should be your real selves accomplishments and skills, things that can't be easily shown in the other audition clips. Don't focus on your current vtuber

As a viewer it'd be kind of sad if you got into a big company. I doubt you'd be able to do this type of research and analysis type stuff anymore, and if you did you probably wouldn't be able to criticize them as honestly. It'd be great to see you successful, but there's only a few doing this kind of content. On a sort of unrelated note, you mention doing 3D IRL type streams. That is pretty rare, there's a Japanese vtuber that does that named Azuma Lim, you could maybe get in touch with her and ask how she does it.
@@lycorisbanashi part of that is because doing education, particularly on the business-side of this platform and presentation style- is gonna be full of it, and constantly changing, even worse when you’re using yourself as example subject matter. It’s part of the reason when I settled into the niche I did, I chose to do lore presentations/video essays. Those are doing far more for me than let’s plays or other topics. That, and the other niche I’m a bit if a loremaster in, I provide content to another channel to scratch that itch xD

It’s one of those things that takes time to learn. It doesn’t come overnight, and everybody’s early stuff is always suuuuuuuuuuper cringe
