Raita is a condiment in South Asian cuisine made of dahi (yogurt, often referred to as curd) together with raw or cooked vegetables, more seldom fruit, or in the case of boondi raita, with fried droplets of batter made from besan (chickpea flour, generally labeled as gram flour).
The closest approximation in western cuisine is a side dish or dip, or a cooked salad. It is often referred to as a condiment, but unlike traditional western condiments like salt, pepper, mustard and horseradish that make dishes more spicy, a dish of dahi or raita has a cooling effect to contrast with spicy curries and kebabs that are the main fare of some Asian cuisines. In Indian cuisine, some type of flatbread may be eaten together with raita, chutneys and pickles. |

Omg yes, I'm planning to make it today.
The fk is curd?
Fresh yogurt
This came out to be pretty bland and average tasting. Copied it to the T and yet :(
You must've added too little a quantity of spices. Did you try amping it up with a bit more salt & chain powder?
Would be easier to just blend all the ingredients together.
If you do it like that the curd will be more liquidy
@@Ayush-cy3yg Good point. Although I suppose I could thicken it with something. Greek yoghurt or kefir cheese or sour cream or ground nuts or creamed tofu, or coconut cream or creamed lentils. Or something else I haven't thought of 😄
What is the fantastic grinder you are using. I am in the U.S. and can find nothing! I have bought Preethi and looked at everything that 'might be' available Thanks so much!
