I will say, the Luigi Circuit shortcut is actually tricky to get right, but flame runner and manual drift was the key to me doing it successfully. Funny enough, inside drift bikes work better with manual drift, as automatic drift gives me almost no control over their too-sharp turning.

The only exception to this is the Torpedo (Spear). It's actually really good in auto once you get the hang of it.
