I like the touch screen WAY better than the big knob little knob shuffle of the perspective avionics !
Best Garmin vid ever. Thank you!
Simply incredible technology. Modern avionics like this should be allowed in to be installed certificated aircraft. Most of us would love to get rid of steam gauges and vacuum pumps.
Just announced G3 is now certified!
Super informative, thank you!
This should be in all GA aircraft.
Why doesn’t Garmin offer a G3 with an internal IFR WAAS ? Or a remotely mounted IFR WAAS ? The redundancy of the two units is nice but not all of us have the real estate on our panels or cash in our pockets for the separate GTN.
Yay for East Idaho and the Grand Tetons!
Garmin with the new Part 23 rewrite ATSM rules can you please certify the G3X for installation in GA under 5000lbs, please. Its a crime not allowing this technology not being installed in GA at an affordable price. Thank you
John Car ha! Announced today!
Thank you, Garmin for getting the G3 certified! You listened to your customer base.
great
I see the G3X screen has the AP in GA (go around) mode, in order to engage navigation back to the 650 when did the approach get unsuspended so the 650 returned to providing heading/tracking guidance? Does the 650 provide the vertical guidance, or is that the ALTS mode and the alt setting of 14,000 ft?
I have 2 G3X Touch and a GTN-650. I'm a little confused about capturing the approach. If I'm on a heading to intercept the approach course and the GPS is set "Activate Vectors To Final", do I arm the NAV or the APR on the autopilot? I flew this and pressed the APR button, but the autopilot continued on the heading through the approach course.
How do you get distance information to show in the Brg1 and 2 on the g3x?
Reference the Pilot's Guide here on page 69 for additional information on the HSI and its display:static.garmin.com/pumac/190-01754-00_q.pdf#page=93. Thank you for being a loyal Garmin customer.
Can Garmin G3X be Used in a MD-500E Helicopter?
Bennie Mabe No. The G3X is for installation in experimental aircraft and is not approved for installation in a certified aircraft such as the MD500 series
