Hee Haw is so my childhood at my grandparents house!! ... Pfft you were gone with all the guest stars is such a classic (Johnny Cash one is probably my favorite) And yes Sunday nights and 7 after my dad went to work we'd rush to the tv to watch Benny Hill!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. As a kid, I wanted to scream when Hee Haw came on. It didn't matter which set of grandparents I was at on a Sunday, it was always Hee Haw. I totally appreciate the musicianship of the cast and some of the guests, but at the time, I wanted to rip my hair out of my head. Benny Hill, on the other hand, was a must watch! 😂
@@julilla1 it's still on with the reruns (Circle TV)... I'll tune it a every now and again for a laugh. The skits were always funny. I didn't appreciate it as a kid but watching it now cracks me up!!
I so appreciate the wide variety of music you react to. Bravo, Harri!
I just love watching stuff like this. Roy was a true entertainer
Roy can play banjo, guitar violin so professionally. Wonderful pick! Thank you Harri!
Roy NEVER played the violin, but boy oh boy! he sure could play the fiddle, LOL!!
Clark and Trent were probably the two best banjo players in the world when this was recorded.
I half expected Jed Clampett from the Beverley Hillbillies to come out doing his famous dance.! One of my very favourite shows from the 1960's.
You probably already know, but Buddy Ebson was actually a great dancer
Roy Clark, can play the, Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle, Mandolin, Harmonica. I’m sure he could play bass if he wanted. Unbelievable talent Rest In Peace.
I didn't appreciate Hee Haw as a small child, but I DID like Roy Clark, because he always had such a warm smile and a happy, soothing voice - almost a down-home Mister Rogers. Now, I can honestly say: Hee Haw was all about helping people just feel better about life when the episode was over. Some just good country songs, occasionally the true Virtuoso performances, and plenty of warm humor.
To be able to play at that level, AND crack the facial jokes and such at the same time ... Wow. That's some serious talent with lots and LOTS of practice. Thanks!
I recently had the same realization! In my teens I dismissed Hee Haw and the musicians (too cool). But now, I appreciate their incredible talent.
I love music, from rap to hillbilly and I love people appreciating how it all has soul. This is how the world goes around, respect for all our brothers and sisters who live for integrity.
They released an album together called “A pair of Five’s (Banjo’s that is) in the early seventies. A GREAT Bluegrass record! Worth a listening to…..
Hee Haw was a great show with great music and great humor. Stared Roy Clark and Buck Oh and
I remember Benny Hill it was on cable TV in the U. S. many years ago.
How they timed that is unbelievable I wonder if we will see such artists again
Top level artistry.
Just so much talent, what a showman.
R.I.P Roy,Never forgotten
Saw Buck Trent play several times when I was a little girl in the 60s, when he was with Porter Wagoner's Wagonmasters. They used to play at a local amusement park every summer and the concert was free with admission to the park. Dolly Parton was the "girl singer." Good memories.
Hee Haw was required watching in our home. Huge value for future life.
I loved Benny Hill when I was a kid. We used to see it on PBS here and my dad got such a kick out of that show.
Just legendary talent
Roy Clark's "The Tips of My Fingers" has always been a favourite. A suggested song, "Burning Bridges" - The Mike Curb Congregation
YES!!! Burning Bridges for sure!!
Awesome. Talented guys. 🪕🪕. This is. Hee haw. 💞💞. I love Benny hill. That man made me laugh so much I peed myself. 😧. 🥰🥰🥰
A few things came to mind - Orange Blossom Special...Steve Martin...and of course Deliverance!
I'm making a comment About Is Roy Clark That you broadcast a year ago. I love Roy Clark Thank you
I really enjoyed this! Both of these guys were so talented. Love the humor & friendly rivalry that they show, each one trying to outdo the other.
theme from the movie Deliverance, great music, great movie.
Check out Roy Clark on The Odd Couple! Fantastic!
Omg! Hee Haw at my grandparents! Adore this❤❤❤
Genious musicians and comedians so sadly underrated and mostly forgotten today. I'm glad you picked them to react to . Thank you, Sir.
I grew in America and I loved Benny Hill
This is from Hee Haw one of my fav shows ran from 69 to the 80s was part comedy part music all talent show
Ole Deliverance
I want that shirt! Pleeease. It looks so colorful and warm. By the way im one of your grandmas and i love the music you select! Rock on! I really do want that shirt...im on blood thinners so im cold. Love your picks.
This is why I loved Hee Haw , you would get the top talent , so much more then you think. @25 year run you would think there would be some good times
Back when musicians had real talent
And some major swagger
Benny Hill is a legend!
Awesome. My foot was going like crazy listening to this. A toe tapper for sure.
They were both entertainers.
Great, thanks for your videos; I really love them.
Greetings from Germany
My Grandpa could play banjo & the mandolin. I loved to always sit & listen to him play.
This is From the classic comedy and music show Hee Haw. Great entertainment, great talent.
Loved your reaction. Gonna have to check out some of your others. Roy Clark was a maestro. Bob Trent, so clean and fun.
Roy Clark, Glen Campbell. Ghost Riders in the Sky
A lot of people wrote this type of music off but they have and had talent.....
I don't think we will see again.
Thank you Harri for showing me music I had not heard in years. Roy Clark is just an incredible musician.
Two masters of their craft just having fun.
Love ya, Harri! This is a testament of the bond between Scotch/Irish music, to American Appalachian music and the blues....
Loved the Hee Haw Show.🤗
My grandma used to love to see Roy pickin and a grinning!!!
Roy and Buck truly masters of the Banjo! I've always loved watching them together!
Buck Trent was maybe the best banjo player in the world. Roy Clark could play anything with a string.
We used to watch the Porter Waggoner show, where Buck Trent was a featured player. (And Dolly Parton was Porters girl singer). Buck also plays guitar, mandolin, dobro, steel guitar, and bass.
Roy Clark's right hand....wow!
Brilliant,! Not seen live before. Thanks!
The thought of Roy Clark being compared to Benny Hill never crossed my mind, but now that you've mentioned it...Maybe if he was chasing a couple of topless ladies around the state...
I feel sad for those that have discovered Roy Clark. I grew up with Roy and I can't say enough about how great he is.
I will go on record and say that, 'Roy Clark is the single greatest string player in the world.'
A perfect description. It's got comedy but there's nothing to laugh about when it comes to the talent here.
Buck Trent plaued for Porter Wagoner witn his elecric banjo.
There is another dueling banjos performance worth checking out, it is the movie Deliverance
Your smile says it all! Thank you Harri! This is from the Hee-Haw show which I am lucky enough to own the series. Roy Clark was a musical genius and Buck Trent could really play too!
They're ' entertainers' , something we're sorely missing these days.
Great Stuff Harri, Thank You
Never thought of him reacting to this ! Love it !
I like how you like this! Appreciation for great musicians! As Steve Martin once sad, only happy music can be played on a banjo.
I saw the original broadcast when i was a kid.....
Thank you for sharing your musical tastes with us. Your channel is one of the best I've come across, keep it up.
Hee Haw. I grew up watching it with grandma and grandpa.
This is part of the movie soundtrack to Deliverance
Saw it live on the tv times were so much better it seems then
Harri. The origins of the banjo can be found on the walls of the pyramids in Egypt!
Very talented artists !
Roy Clark was one of the best that ever was. He is greatly missed. I enjoyed your video :)
Check out Roy Clark appearances on the Jimmy Dean show, circa 1964. He plays the "12th Street Rag" and "Folsom Prison Blues".
If this doesn't put a smile on your face, your smiler is broken.
It's entertaining.
Super talented 👍
Love the reaction and the hoodie! Check out Roy Clark Malaguena... incredible!!!
I believe this was from Hee. Haw, a Country Music variety show that ran for 23 seasons, Starring Roy Clark and Buck Owens, and Buck Trent was a cast member
I remember watching this. Who would of thought we'd get nothing like this today. I still love to watch HeeHaw when they show it on RFDTV!
Bonus points for a snippet of Lizst's Hungarian Rhapsody at 1:34 IIRC. Roy Clark knew his way around classical music too, and it just fits right in right there.
Insanely talented guys. Made HeeHaw worth watching for sure.
we're on the exact same page. they're so much fun to watch. if you knew what you were getting into you'd be more than happy to pay really good money for a good view.
For a mind blowing live, jazz vocal performance, give a listen to, 1976 - live in Berlin, Al Jarreau "Take Five ".
I remember Benny Hill.
Hi Harri. This is my first time watching your channel. Roy Clark was very well know in Country Music circles as one of the best guitar/banjo players ever. The scene was from the weekly comedy series "Hee Haw". Re; Benny Hill, Loved his show. He was also in the movie
Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines. Also really liked Dave Allen at Large.
Try Roy Clark, plays the guitar, banjo & fiddle!
If it had strings, Clark mastered it.
You mentioned Benny Hill. Check out famed guitarist Chet Akins doing a guitar rendition of the Benny Hill closing Theme song. Called "Yakety Axe". Chet even does a version with lyrics.
This was played in the movie "Deliverence" John Voight and many other famous actors. One of the banjo players in the movie is a real kid from Apalachia who is partially blind and dirt poor. Note: it's a shocking movie to watch so read up about it BEFORE you watch.
One of the truest measures of the talent of these performers was they got together once a year and produced an entire season's episodes in about a week. Thus there was no real-time for rehearsals, what you see is what you got.
From the movie "Deliverance". If you have not seen it, and do, be prepared to be shocked.
4:47 god, scared the shid outta me. (I looked over my shoulder to make sure)
Check out "Orange Blossom Special" by Roy Clark and Jimmy Henley. You'll love this one too!
Hee-Haw will blow your mind.
It's the folk music from the British isles, especially Ireland and Scotland, that was brought to the Americas. It' eventually evolved into its own thing, but you can still hear its roots.
check out Bela Fleck and Flecktones...amazing Banjo playing
Roy Clarke was a brilliant guitarist too.
I like the old version
It’s sorcery, they spin fantastic castles in the sky. It seems similar to the magicians who build OS kernels, (castles of one’s and zeros) I have no idea how their brains do these amazing things but it’s impressive.
"Benny Hill' ya this was off the tv show Hee Haw a rural US version of Benny !!!
It's like playing horse but with banjos
Benny Hill is hilarious
