Hee Haw is so my childhood at my grandparents house!! ... Pfft you were gone with all the guest stars is such a classic (Johnny Cash one is probably my favorite) And yes Sunday nights and 7 after my dad went to work we'd rush to the tv to watch Benny Hill!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. As a kid, I wanted to scream when Hee Haw came on. It didn't matter which set of grandparents I was at on a Sunday, it was always Hee Haw. I totally appreciate the musicianship of the cast and some of the guests, but at the time, I wanted to rip my hair out of my head. Benny Hill, on the other hand, was a must watch! 😂
@@julilla1 it's still on with the reruns (Circle TV)... I'll tune it a every now and again for a laugh. The skits were always funny. I didn't appreciate it as a kid but watching it now cracks me up!!
I love music, from rap to hillbilly and I love people appreciating how it all has soul. This is how the world goes around, respect for all our brothers and sisters who live for integrity.
I didn't appreciate Hee Haw as a small child, but I DID like Roy Clark, because he always had such a warm smile and a happy, soothing voice - almost a down-home Mister Rogers. Now, I can honestly say: Hee Haw was all about helping people just feel better about life when the episode was over. Some just good country songs, occasionally the true Virtuoso performances, and plenty of warm humor. To be able to play at that level, AND crack the facial jokes and such at the same time ... Wow. That's some serious talent with lots and LOTS of practice. Thanks!
Saw Buck Trent play several times when I was a little girl in the 60s, when he was with Porter Wagoner's Wagonmasters. They used to play at a local amusement park every summer and the concert was free with admission to the park. Dolly Parton was the "girl singer." Good memories.
Another late to the party comment lol: this was awesome - took me back to the tv days of 4 channels only and sitting in front of Heehaw watching this! How great!!
Your smile says it all! Thank you Harri! This is from the Hee-Haw show which I am lucky enough to own the series. Roy Clark was a musical genius and Buck Trent could really play too!
I want that shirt! Pleeease. It looks so colorful and warm. By the way im one of your grandmas and i love the music you select! Rock on! I really do want that shirt...im on blood thinners so im cold. Love your picks.
I believe this was from Hee. Haw, a Country Music variety show that ran for 23 seasons, Starring Roy Clark and Buck Owens, and Buck Trent was a cast member
One of the truest measures of the talent of these performers was they got together once a year and produced an entire season's episodes in about a week. Thus there was no real-time for rehearsals, what you see is what you got.
Bonus points for a snippet of Lizst's Hungarian Rhapsody at 1:34 IIRC. Roy Clark knew his way around classical music too, and it just fits right in right there.
We used to watch the Porter Waggoner show, where Buck Trent was a featured player. (And Dolly Parton was Porters girl singer). Buck also plays guitar, mandolin, dobro, steel guitar, and bass.
The thought of Roy Clark being compared to Benny Hill never crossed my mind, but now that you've mentioned it...Maybe if he was chasing a couple of topless ladies around the state...
we're on the exact same page. they're so much fun to watch. if you knew what you were getting into you'd be more than happy to pay really good money for a good view.
Hi Harri. This is my first time watching your channel. Roy Clark was very well know in Country Music circles as one of the best guitar/banjo players ever. The scene was from the weekly comedy series "Hee Haw". Re; Benny Hill, Loved his show. He was also in the movie Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines. Also really liked Dave Allen at Large.
It’s sorcery, they spin fantastic castles in the sky. It seems similar to the magicians who build OS kernels, (castles of one’s and zeros) I have no idea how their brains do these amazing things but it’s impressive.
It's the folk music from the British isles, especially Ireland and Scotland, that was brought to the Americas. It' eventually evolved into its own thing, but you can still hear its roots.
I feel sad for those that have discovered Roy Clark. I grew up with Roy and I can't say enough about how great he is. I will go on record and say that, 'Roy Clark is the single greatest string player in the world.'
I so appreciate the wide variety of music you react to. Bravo, Harri!

I just love watching stuff like this. Roy was a true entertainer
Roy can play banjo, guitar violin so professionally. Wonderful pick! Thank you Harri!
Roy NEVER played the violin, but boy oh boy! he sure could play the fiddle, LOL!!
Clark and Trent were probably the two best banjo players in the world when this was recorded.
I love music, from rap to hillbilly and I love people appreciating how it all has soul. This is how the world goes around, respect for all our brothers and sisters who live for integrity.
Just so much talent, what a showman.
R.I.P Roy,Never forgotten

I recently had the same realization! In my teens I dismissed Hee Haw and the musicians (too cool). But now, I appreciate their incredible talent.
I half expected Jed Clampett from the Beverley Hillbillies to come out doing his famous dance.! One of my very favourite shows from the 1960's.
You probably already know, but Buddy Ebson was actually a great dancer
Roy Clark, can play the, Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle, Mandolin, Harmonica. I’m sure he could play bass if he wanted. Unbelievable talent Rest In Peace.
Omg! Hee Haw at my grandparents! Adore this❤❤❤

Never thought of him reacting to this ! Love it !
Two masters of their craft just having fun.
I remember Benny Hill it was on cable TV in the U. S. many years ago.
Genious musicians and comedians so sadly underrated and mostly forgotten today. I'm glad you picked them to react to . Thank you, Sir.
Love ya, Harri! This is a testament of the bond between Scotch/Irish music, to American Appalachian music and the blues....
Awesome. My foot was going like crazy listening to this. A toe tapper for sure.
They released an album together called “A pair of Five’s (Banjo’s that is) in the early seventies. A GREAT Bluegrass record! Worth a listening to…..
They're ' entertainers' , something we're sorely missing these days.
Thank you Harri for showing me music I had not heard in years. Roy Clark is just an incredible musician.
I really enjoyed this! Both of these guys were so talented. Love the humor & friendly rivalry that they show, each one trying to outdo the other.
My Grandpa could play banjo & the mandolin. I loved to always sit & listen to him play.
Roy Clark's right hand....wow!
theme from the movie Deliverance, great music, great movie.
My grandma used to love to see Roy pickin and a grinning!!!

Roy Clark's "The Tips of My Fingers" has always been a favourite. A suggested song, "Burning Bridges" - The Mike Curb Congregation
YES!!! Burning Bridges for sure!!
Roy and Buck truly masters of the Banjo! I've always loved watching them together!
Brilliant,! Not seen live before. Thanks!
Loved your reaction. Gonna have to check out some of your others. Roy Clark was a maestro. Bob Trent, so clean and fun.
I grew in America and I loved Benny Hill
Back when musicians had real talent
And some major swagger
A perfect description. It's got comedy but there's nothing to laugh about when it comes to the talent here.
How they timed that is unbelievable I wonder if we will see such artists again
Top level artistry.
If this doesn't put a smile on your face, your smiler is broken.
I'm making a comment About Is Roy Clark That you broadcast a year ago. I love Roy Clark Thank you

Your smile says it all! Thank you Harri! This is from the Hee-Haw show which I am lucky enough to own the series. Roy Clark was a musical genius and Buck Trent could really play too!
I like how you like this! Appreciation for great musicians! As Steve Martin once sad, only happy music can be played on a banjo.
Insanely talented guys. Made HeeHaw worth watching for sure.
Super talented 👍
A few things came to mind - Orange Blossom Special...Steve Martin...and of course Deliverance!
Great Stuff Harri, Thank You
This is why I loved Hee Haw , you would get the top talent , so much more then you think. @25 year run you would think there would be some good times

Love the reaction and the hoodie! Check out Roy Clark Malaguena... incredible!!!
A lot of people wrote this type of music off but they have and had talent.....
I don't think we will see again.
Hee Haw. I grew up watching it with grandma and grandpa.
One of the truest measures of the talent of these performers was they got together once a year and produced an entire season's episodes in about a week. Thus there was no real-time for rehearsals, what you see is what you got.
Roy Clarke was a brilliant guitarist too.
This is from Hee Haw one of my fav shows ran from 69 to the 80s was part comedy part music all talent show
Check out Roy Clark on The Odd Couple! Fantastic!
If it had strings, Clark mastered it.
I saw the original broadcast when i was a kid.....
Thank you for sharing your musical tastes with us. Your channel is one of the best I've come across, keep it up.
It's like playing horse but with banjos
Saw it live on the tv times were so much better it seems then
I remember watching this. Who would of thought we'd get nothing like this today. I still love to watch HeeHaw when they show it on RFDTV!
Benny Hill is a legend!
Bonus points for a snippet of Lizst's Hungarian Rhapsody at 1:34 IIRC. Roy Clark knew his way around classical music too, and it just fits right in right there.
Buck Trent was maybe the best banjo player in the world. Roy Clark could play anything with a string.
We used to watch the Porter Waggoner show, where Buck Trent was a featured player. (And Dolly Parton was Porters girl singer). Buck also plays guitar, mandolin, dobro, steel guitar, and bass.
There is another dueling banjos performance worth checking out, it is the movie Deliverance
I like the old version
The thought of Roy Clark being compared to Benny Hill never crossed my mind, but now that you've mentioned it...Maybe if he was chasing a couple of topless ladies around the state...
Harri. The origins of the banjo can be found on the walls of the pyramids in Egypt!
we're on the exact same page. they're so much fun to watch. if you knew what you were getting into you'd be more than happy to pay really good money for a good view.

Roy Clark, Glen Campbell. Ghost Riders in the Sky

Hee-Haw will blow your mind.
Buck Trent plaued for Porter Wagoner witn his elecric banjo.
Try Roy Clark, plays the guitar, banjo & fiddle!
It's the folk music from the British isles, especially Ireland and Scotland, that was brought to the Americas. It' eventually evolved into its own thing, but you can still hear its roots.
For a mind blowing live, jazz vocal performance, give a listen to, 1976 - live in Berlin, Al Jarreau "Take Five ".
It's so refreshing to see a black man who doesn't seem a bit racist...oh yeah, your British.
110k likes, nice.
I remember Benny Hill.
You should check out Roy Clark and Glenn Campbell! Great dueling guitars.
I feel sad for those that have discovered Roy Clark. I grew up with Roy and I can't say enough about how great he is.
