Wow man! Thank you so much for the support. These ultra events are such a rollercoaster of emotions, but having support from the community honestly helps so much get through the hardest parts of those event.
Thanks 🙏 That is technically me flying it. It’s a follow drone that I control from my phone, I can control the angle and height, but it keeps me centered and won’t crash. No 3rd party operator needed. They have since discontinued this drone model though.
@@TheVCAdventuresDude that’s insane to be able to ride like that AND control the drone and other cameras you have going on AND still be competitive. I can barely get my gopro battery changed during a race 😆
I'm not a racer, definitely not an endurance athlete by any means...but the way you capture this, narrate and put it all together makes me feel like I'm there! Great stuff dude.
I appreciate that! That’s my main goal in videos is to convey my experience and feelings to you. So that’s amazing to hear that came through on this one.
Tbh, this was better than some of the more recent Impossible Route videos. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy those too but the story telling, videography, and creativity on this one were top notch! Cheers!👏
That mental game of just ignoring what your body and brain are telling you, and basically telling yourself lies to get back on that bike. Totally crazy, yet so inspiring. Thank you for that, once more.
Tyler, your description of the great bonk in the middle of the night is amazing to hear. My buddies and I occasionally do 24 hour mtb races, and we all have stories about that shared experience. The focus required, just to survive, while everything is hurting, sends us somewhere we didn’t know existed mentally. Makes for some pretty funny stories too (after the fact, type II fun). Kudos to your son for pushing you!
Another brilliant story. Dude you explained the interior monologue (dialogue?) absolutely perfectly. Our brains are so devious. Pushing through that is something only a very small percentage of the population is willing or able to do. But once you’ve done it…it’s like a piece of armor you get to wear forever.
Dude, best production quality and storytelling on youtube. I hope the engagement you get here is enough to keeps you making the content. always a treat after all these years
Bro... I needed this one. A little over a month until Unbound and I have major bike fatigue from all of the training. Your videos and story telling motivate me to always be better. Still pissed you won't be in Kansas this year (I get it dude, I just really wanted to meet you and shake your hand 😎) Just another THANK YOU for an awesome film, and THANK YOU for reigniting the fire to get me across the finish line in Emporia.
Thank you for kind words, I know what you’re going through 100%. Last year before unbound I got so fit but I just mentally wasn’t wanting to suffer anymore by the time race came. Finding the training/mind balance is hard. Good luck in Kansas, hope you crush it!
Love love love this recap…I know every turn, dem pokey bois lol…we don’t even see them anymore 😂 It is super fun to hear you talk about it all! You really captured the feel of it..sunrise lap is manna from heaven….living a lifetime in 24 hours…all the things ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ please come back again!!!!
Dude! "Living a lifetime in 24hrs" nails it! I did 425mi solo event, Salt2Saint, road but still brutal not sleeping for 29 hours. Getting out after resting in warm vehicle into the cold dark night was one of the hardest things I've ever done too. Awesome vid and experience!
So much emotion, up and down, shred, and craziness put into 30 minutes. I seriously dig sharing your point of you and watching your stories. I am super super grateful I was able to help in someway and be a part and be in your energy. I didn’t suffer for 24 hours, but it definitely was a life-changing event for me as well.
You were killing it lap after lap with a GoPro in your teeth 😁. Congratulations on the podium finish. Second time volunteering for Old Pueblo. Worked 2 shift in the timing tent this year. Loved seeing 4 different UA-camrs there that I follow. I did get a Fri and a Sat lap in myself to check my time (1hr 36min) 🤪.
Hello, it's future Me. He tells you thank you for all your good job, all your positives vibes. You've at least one follower from France, you're helping a 45 years old beginner rider to reach his objectives. Franchement, chapeau bas for your great job.
Total rollercoaster of emotions, so different to anything else endurance on a MTB. Technical single track + sleep deprivation = 🥴. As soon as you finish all you want to do is sleep 💤. Respect to anyone who's done one of these
I love this event . I won 24 OP solo single speed in 2023 . It’s the best athletic achievement I’ve tackled thus far. Looks like you had a great race this year , 5th in that category is amazing. Maybe I’ll see you out there next year. Cheers!
Almost all my solo races, the toughest part was riding around non solo racers, not because they were bad but the confusion of who your competing with. I used to set my HR for 150-165 but very rarely could keep it there, especially after the sun came back up. Thanks for sharing the video, brought back some good memories
Most excellent video of 24 HOP I've ever seem from a podium finisher. I am the random guy on the top of the podium. You can tell I was not the guy who actually won because I was smiling and happy and jumping. I've done solo, 4 person, 5 person co-ed, and corporate categories. I've also stayed up and partied starting Thursday night until the Podiums. 24 HOP offers whatever you are looking for.
I completed a double everesting earlier this year. I can relate to every word you said. It took me 35 hours, 560km, 18,000 meters of elevation gain. And the worst part? I was never more than 6km from my car. Mad respect man, awesome ride!
Your videos to me are always such a wild ride, figuratively speaking. The way you’re able to keep hope and maintain your mental fortitude during the key moments of wanting nothing more than to give up is what sets you apart. From you I’ve learned that riding bikes is often more about how mentally tough you are than how fit you are.
I am glad to see that 24 hour racing is getting some coverage again! In the 1990 - 2000s it was huge! I have done 15 of them solo, 2-man and4-man. It's so fun and social and mind expanding! Great job man!
Dude, I just listened to you on Chris Miller Cycling from 7mo ago. I literally do not care what your videos are about. I'm a triathlete and weight lifter. I have zero interest in doing the riding that you do. I love watching you have fun. Keep filming whatever makes you happy and I'll watch all of it.
Resilience your middle name VC, we love to see how you push out even when every fiber of you being is telling you that it’s not possible! Much love and respect for the continuous improvement!
You did a fantastic job explaining the emotions you go through in this event. Whether you're solo or in a quad (the majority of riders are quad) this event is just a string of emotional and physical ups and downs. Each sized competitive (1-2-4) grouping brings unique challenges--sleep and nutrition timing is hard and you're blasting laps at 2+. It's for sure one of the more satisfying events of the season. Kudos on the finish! Unrelated, the groms you keep seeing in every clip with the Groupo jerseys on are a youth development team out of Tucson and they straight up kill. They've currently got one ex-rider in the world tour and usually have a handful of top contenders in pretty much any race in Arizona
Dude this is truly epic stuff You’re storytelling is on another level, the footage, the music, the passion, the emotion, you capture it all with such skill By far and away the greatest cycling UA-camr out there Keep going until you can’t 💪🏼
LOL Great effort and accomplishment for you and your crew, Bur NO WAY! am i ever doing anything for 24 hours strait. My goals are more like a good 8 hours of riding at a comfortable pace then a really nice meal a chocolate cake desert and a nice coffee watching the sun set. Every time I can accomplish that one more time is a great life lived. I think I've done that about 4 times so far. Hopefully I have another 4 or more still in me. A great video and what an adventure, YOU had. P.S. Tyler your looking good, dude. Are you like hitting the waits? Even your hair looks combed!
That’s amazing man your such an inspiration. That fact that you were never at this high of a level. And now after years of hard work you did something that is just superhuman level wow.
First Vegan Cyclist video I saw seems like 10-12 years go. It was about riding Yosemite, if I recall. Recently came across the transformed channel with the impossible rides bikepacking episode. The production quality has skyrocketed, but I remember enjoying the Yosemite video just as much. 👏👏
at ultras sometimes you are the nail and sometimes you are the hammer! absolutely PEAK footage and story telling, love your channel, it really helps me when I'm not mentally good enough to keep going
Well done Tyler! I was watching your progress, online and wondering what was up with the 3-hr lap! Glad you persevered and kudos to your son for his encouragement. I think Lachlan was one of the winners missing from the podium. Not bad company and he only did half of the race as part of a duo.
Having done a 24 hour race from Salt Lake to St George this past month, you can be in your darkest moments at night. But as soon as that sun comes up, brand new mindset.
Absolutely Astounding - The story telling and video presentation are PROFESSIONAL AWARD WINNING QUALITY !!!!
Appreciate that, it takes me a long time to make these, but hopefully they are always worth the watch.
@@TheVCAdventures the music you pick is well chosen too. You are def good at this.
So so worth it imo thanks man
Somebody better call Netflix!!
Only *YOU* could capture the beauty and the horror of a a solo 24 Hr MTB race so well. Thank you!
"Push through the darkness, and the light will be so bright!" You continue to inspire, Tyler! ✌

shout out to the evening Drone Operator. That was really good footage.

Appreciate that my dude! My energy has changed a lot over the years, videos from 4-6 years ago were much different 😂

Impossible Route is my favorite TV show. More seasons!!!!!!!

Props to Tyler's son for pressing on! The hug you give him as you drag your butt to your bike and into movement displays so much love and gratitude.
I love how “mitigating the chaos” involved hundreds of people sprinting 100m to their bikes in the literal first seconds of the race 😂

These are so freaking motivating, waking up to spin before work, I can imagine how rediculously hard it is like after over 100 miles of mtb.
What a storyteller! I have viewed tens of 24HOP and none of them make me feel the pain and joy like this one

202 riders and you were plate 202. Interesting. Funny you post this the day i dropped out of a 6hr MTB race in june. Good show. -U10
The event sells out at 200 spots. But I was able to finagle my way in for a media spot. So I was the very last registered rider for solo.
Glad Todd let you in. He’s a great guy !

Let’s go VC - loving the video production quality as per usual
Video is killer, as always. I hope these videos pay your bills and fund more content. Because I want more bro!
Loved it! Keep on keeping on 🤗
Agree 100%. Doing an ultra has been an experience unlike anything else. In fact, you don't know what "to experience" means until you ride an ultra.
Family vibe 10/10 and congrats on the event.
I’m glad you covered this race! Awesome result

Awesome job Tyler. Man you make me want to spend more time on my bike everytime I watch your stuff. Good job on the top 5!
