I felt that i needed to come on here and tell you Thank You !! For not only providing a documentary on our album but for enjoying the recordings. Without going to far into specifics, I played on this album from 82 to 89. I recall many sleepless nights and many tiresome fingers. Haha. I found your video from a friend of mine who was advised that this video was posted so I had to watch. Even though I am not to familiar with AMSR Anyways, thank you very much for the comments and for your commentaries. Enjoy your Third Stage.
That is so amazing! I am so excited to hear about this! 🤩 This MADE my day! I’m very thankful that your friend told you about this video and my channel! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and tell me this! I’ve always loved Boston and have listened to these songs ever since I was a little gal! Much respect and appreciation sent your way! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Very nice as usual! Girl, you should have been there when this album first came out! The fanfare was off the charts. Boston's first release in 8 years. Amanda was on almost continuous rotation on the radio.
I woke up this morning and the sun was gone Turned on Prim ASMR to start my day She was talking about a familiar song I closed my eyes and I slipped away It's more than a feeling When I hear her whisper about albums on monday And I begin dreaming Til it's over and I have to hit replay (Couldn't resist it, heh)
I think your Recording Album series is going to become a classic by itself, Prim! A lot of interesting stuff going on here... It took them six fu**ing years to record this album, which I think remains quite an exception, even at this golden age of rock operas. Recordings were still quite epic at this time due to new possibilities and technologic limitations at the same time. Ironically, today people always want to reproduce the gentle saturation sound of analog tapes on their digital recorders, as well as the legendary sound of instruments like the electric Rhode Fender bass piano you can still find in any big studio, or the Hammond organ we can hear throughout this album with today's cutting edge synthetizers... But we will always prefer the original over the copies. Tonight, apart from 'More than a feeling', I enjoyed very much listening to 'Hitch a ride', that I found particularly catchy. Thank you for this another magic music trip, captain Prim, this time in the mid eighties...
Why thank you!! & Right on! 😎 I looove the song hitch a ride! It flows really well and it’s fun to sing the chorus! Definitely one of my favorite Boston songs. I’m really glad you have been enjoying this series so far! And I hope you have been doing well, and enjoying this beautiful summer time! 💐
👍👍👍Great vid Prim! Obviously “more than a feeling!” is numero uno! Never been into reading ASMR until your channel. Your voice has the same soothing effect as Bob Ross’ voice! Going to be listening to song number 4 a lot leading up to next weeks album!
Thank ya, Matthew!! 😀 That’s quite a huge compliment being compared to the one and only Bob Ross! I love him SO! 💐💐 & Heck yeah, I’ve been jamming to this music for dayyyzzzz! 😎 Looking forward to sharing the next episode with ya! ✨
Was there a thunder storm outside or something? I just now noticed a few light flashes throughout the video. Since you're afraid of thunder but still made this video, I give you extra points for that! Your reading, tapping and scratching on this video is perfect! I like to see all your reactions to the stories about this album! Great video, I think I like it! I think I like it a lot! Out of all the albums you introduced to me, this was my favorite! Not only you inspired me to listen to this album in its entirety, you also inspired me to listen to the entire discography of Boston! I liked every single song on the first 4 Boston albums, all killer no filler! I was a bit angry at myself for only knowing their biggest hit song "More Than A Feeling" for all these years, as it turns out that song is only the tip of the iceberg, this band has a lot more great songs to offer! The one song that really sticks out on this album to me is "I Think I Like It", it's hard hitting and very powerful! That's exactly what I like in music, and I feel like that's the main reason why rock music will never die! That song has become a hymn to the first month I was your subscriber! It will always take me back to the May of 2018, the start of this entire journey of not stopping to believe! (excuse my puns) The lyrics of "I Think I Like It" describes the discovering of your channel perfectly! "Changes, makin' me see the light , I finally see wrong from right". I believe you have the power of making people a better persons, you can bring out the best out of everyone! The last three songs on this album is the Holy Trinity to me, Hollyann is now one of my favorite ballads, another great song on this album is "Cool the Engines"! My favorite Boston song not from this album is "Surrender To Me", it's on the album "Walk On" that was released 8 years after the "Third Stage". Both of these albums are my favorite Boston releases!
great video for a so-so album Prim! (Boston were already on the outs in 1986). Looking forward to next week's entry! GnR's cover of Dylan's 'knockin on heaven's door' as well as the over-the-top epic "Estranged" are essential tracks. Check out the video for estranged, complete with axl swimming with dolphins.
I've been listening to Boston today just in anticipation of this video. 👍 You did an awesome job once again, Prim, and it was very enjoyable listening to you enthusiastically discuss & read from this album!! You definitely looked to be having a very good time & enjoying yourself, which just makes this video come across all the better. Of course I loved the intermittent tapping throughout the video as well. Thank you for another excellent ASMR video, Prim, this album series of yours continues to impress! 😃👌 Boston is & pretty much always was Tom Scholz's band, he was the leader and mastermind behind it. Scholz is a perfectionist and after the huge success that was their self-titled debut album, he felt like the record company rushed the band to release their 2nd album 'Don't Look Back', which Tom wasn't happy about. So that's a big part of the reason why he really took his time working on the 3rd Boston album and 'Third Stage' wasn't completed & released until almost 8 years after 'Don't Look Back'. On that note, I wouldn't say Boston stuck together through the years of recording 'Third Stage' because of the 5 members who recorded the first two Boston albums (Brad Delp, Tom Scholz, Barry Goudreau, Fran Sheehan & Sib Hashian), only Delp & Scholz were still in the band upon the release of 'Third Stage'. Guitarist Barry Goudreau recorded a solo album in 1980 that included Brad Delp on vocals & Sib Hashian on drums and that sounded quite similar to Boston's first two albums, which the record company then tried to cash in on, all of which prompted Tom Scholz to ask Goudreau to leave Boston. Fran Sheehan participated in some of the early sessions for 'Third Stage', but none of his bass playing ended up on the finished album, though he did receive a song writing credit for "Cool the Engines". Sib Hashian also participated in early sessions for the album, and while he wasn't credited on the original release of the album (like what you have in this video), he was credited for drums & percussion on later re-releases and it's believed that it's his drumming on some of the 'Third Stage' songs that were recorded earlier on like "Amanda" & "We're Ready". Of course it was almost another 8 years before Boston released their 4th album 'Walk On' in 1994 and by that time Brad Delp was also gone and it was just Tom Scholz left of the 5 members who recorded the first two albums. Though Delp did return for some songs on the 5th album 'Corporate America' released after almost another 8 years in 2002. Anyway, some of my favorite Boston songs include "More Than a Feeling", "Foreplay/Long Time", "Peace of Mind", "Don't Look Back", "Feelin' Satisfied", "Cool the Engines", "Amanda" & "We're Ready", among others. Also Prim, since you love Boston, I'd recommend you check out the song "Dreams" by Barry Goudreau, which was a single from his aforementioned 1980 solo album. Great song and Boston-esque. Brad Delp & Barry Goudreau also formed a new band in the early 90's called RTZ and had a hit song with the power ballad "Until Your Love Comes Back Around", which is worth checking out too. Also on the subject of Barry Goudreau, in the mid-80's he was in a rock band called Orion the Hunter which also featured former Heart drummer Michael DeRosier as well as Fran Cosmo on vocals, who ironically ended up being the singer who replaced Brad Delp in Boston in the 90's. Orion the Hunter had a minor hit in 1984 called "So You Ran", which I think is a great song and definitely worth checking out. 👍 Here's something you may find interesting being that you're both a Boston fan and a pro wrestling fan; Boston drummer Sib Hashian's daughter Lauren Hashian has been in a relationship for over a decade with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and has 2 children with him. 😉 I'll end by apologizing for this super long winded comment, lol, but I hope you found it of some interest. 😁
Yesssss! I did enjoy making this and I’m really excited to get started on the next episode ! I love how much knowledge you have about such awesome stuff like this! I learn a lot from talking with you and hearing all the behind stories of things I would’ve never thought about before! I also never knew that about the rock. That is very neat and interesting to know, so thank you so much for sharing that with me!! & I will for sure check out the song you mentioned “so you ran” You have excellent taste in music so I can just imagine that it’s going to be a great song! 🎼🎼🎼🤗
Thank you Prim, I'm glad you found my comment interesting and my long-windedness doesn't bore you, lol. Let me know what you think of "So You Ran" sometime. 😊
I may not know who you are but I barely found your channel on youtube we may have something in common about liking old school rock. I love all of your ASMR album reviews series helps me to feel a relaxing sensation. (:
Might be one of your best videos yet. You are really quite amazing. Make sure you research into Brad Delp's tragic suicide....really makes you appreciate his legendary voice even more so now.
Hi prim what a lovely channel you have here. Love your videos and your whispered voice is so very relaxing. You have a new fan from the UK x hope your well
I really liked your video! Very refreshing and hopeful that this band’s legacy still lives on. I prefer a natural, or “unintentional” ASMR, or at least in that vain. For example too much finger clicking for no reason seems too forced... just an opinion. I found this album on EBay this morning and snagged it up! A Man I’ll Never Be is my favorite from Don’t Look Back. And I like how it comes full circle in Third Stage with “To Be a Man”...
Hey Prim, you made a mistake in the description box ; the link you gave as a complete playlist of the album is only the link to the song Amanda. I think I only knew "More than a feeling" but it's not on this album so I might explore more of this band, thanks to you.

I've never clicked "like" so fast! I'm glad you picked one of my favorite albums for this video. I got the cassette for Christmas back in 1986!
Wow that’s awesome! & Thank you very much! 😀

Everything on their first album is amazing. My favorite Boston song, however, would have to be Don't Look Back. Hard to go wrong with Boston though.
