Honestly I don't think the game would've been any better with a Zelda NPC tagging along BUT TotK was good enough to inspire fan stories like this one where we get to see what them traveling together could've looked like. So both get to exist. And I think that's wonderful.
I mean, if Zelda had been a tag-along companion, she would probably have the best companion AI simply because she would always be with the player, and her AOC counterpart has a crazy moveset, so she would have honestly been an OP companion to have. Also imagine the dialog they would have when they went back home with Zelda just having a "it's nice to be home although we should get back out and help everyone more once after we rest a bit. (in the Japanese version of TOTK, they actually acknowledge that Link and Zelda both live in that house, meaning the house quest in BOTW did happen aside from Tarry Town existing, confirming that) Not to mention, they could have gone all the way if she was a companion and made it so you could switch between her and Link. It really is missed potential, tbh. Although, now that I'm thinking about it, she could just revive the player if they are Link whenever they ☠ for a limited number of times with her powers, lol
@@Supersonicblue1027ooh, like a genshin style character switch where each character has their own fighting style. Like you switch to Tulin and you can jump really high and glide while rapid firing arrows. Or Yunobo in which he walks slow but does heavy damage and does charge attacks
I love totk and its story but I love this so much, it hits to filling in the disappearing sheikha tech and the way link and Zelda interact is so cute and fun
PLEASE check out Critbit's work! They made a really long comic series following the Nimbasa trio from Pokemon as kids, but even if you don't care much about the funny train men it's got some incredible art and animalistic Pokemon designs.
Hot take, i like this version better than TOTK, would have been a great new way to branch out for the series. But that isnt to say i didnt like TOTK's route. It felt more full circle. This is why I'm a Zelda fan 😂❤
I like how because Zelda never left it affected everything. Including Gohma being magnetic all of a sudden.(also please add fight scenes against the bosses next time, would have loved to see there reaction to the new gohma)

One of those twists is clearly that the Master Sword was enhanced with Zelda's magic, making it stronger. I suppose you could call it The Awakened Goddess Sword taking on a form that resembled a fusion of its old appearance and the master sword's appearance while sporting a new black handle clearly to spite Demise and Ghirahim. In addition to sporting a new golden glow thanks to Zelda's power running through its veins. So the Master Sword just survives the corruption here with its own power and nothing more but fails to protect Link's arm from being hit. However, since the sword was fine and Zelda was holding Link, they were never sent back in time, allowing Zelda to warp them to safety, preventing Raru from teleporting them to the sky islands and teaching Link how to use the powers inside of his arm to aid them in their journey.

This is how the game should have been so cute would have loved the zelink moments. Optional two player.
