- We show you how install an Aerofabb front splitter on a MK7.5 GTI. Since this install does require bumper removal we will show you how to remove the front bumper cover during this process as well.

I’m a happy owner of this splitter on a 2018 GTI. totally worth the work, if you are looking for a quality part for the front. Also, I’m lowered on springs, so I’d rather scrape the splitter than the bottom of my bumper.
That blue color looks sweet on the MK7.5 GTI! If you added the dark Euro taillights the package would be complete.

Not installing a splitter, but this video is very helpful for the fog light and trim pieces I have to replace on my passenger side. Damn raccoon took the fog light and mounting brackets as a souvenir on my vacation.

Thank you for the video! I just got one for my 2019 GTI. The sensor in the emblem doesn’t need to be recalibrated or anything from being disconnected does it? This video helps very much.
It's recommended though. A millimeter of difference would throw this off its original specs

Hey there, this question was asked two years ago but doesn’t look like it was answered. I hope to install on a golf r 7.5. Does the front bumper remove the same watt? I’ve watched 3 videos and they are all different slightly that loosening of 10mm nuts at 3:01 doesn’t happen in the other videos. Is that a requirement for removal and if yes, how do I find it up under the bumper cover and fender piece? Please.
To answer my own question (looks like DAP can’t keep up with question from their massive content) YES, these instruction for removing the front bumper cover are precisely correct for a MK7.5 Golf R as well. Those 10mm “nuts” at 3:01 are more like screws with a 10mm head that screw into a white plastic block. There are two on search side. If you remove all of the wheel wheel Torx screws first it is really easy to see the “screws” and loosen them. Don’t need to take them out, just Nice and loose. Be sure to tighten them as step one, before all of the torx screws when you are reassembling. The golf R has a plug on the drivers side for the proximity sensors and you will need to unplug the cable connection for that. It is much easier as a two person job.
I see they have kw coilovers. I wonder if they ride like crap like mine do. KW really messed up the rear tuning on the gti.

What kind of radar detector? Did you have a video about that? Installation or of what kind you choose?
GreySun it’s from the factory, senses vehicle distance for safety if tailgating someone.

I ask mainly because if you even touch the radar in the front it has to be calibrated properly using ODIS

That’s not very noticeable for the effort that you go through but it looks aggressive.

can you put a mk7.5 R bumper on a mk7.5 gti rabbit?
I bought a maxdon design front splitter for my golf gti mk7.5 when I am at speeds of say 90 + mph the whole front end vibrates , which is due to the wind , very disappointed 😕
You dont just Drill screws thru the splitter like shown in the vid. This isnt the right thing to do. You have to counter the screws from the back side and add 6 more screws. Went past 250kmh and nothing vibrates or so. I love the maxton splitter!
Maxton design stuff is garbage. I had a front splitter on my 2016 scirocco r and it lasted about a week. The car was standard ride height.

For a much easier diy just use self tapping screws with a washer and screw through the bumper underneath

Thanks for the instal vid but the juice ain’t worth the squeeze. Plus I HATE the fact they put their branding badge on the splitter front and center. 🤮

People better think twice before splurging money on this. In Texas, this will NOT last as you won't be able to exit parking lots and gas stations without DESTROYING it. I don't even have an aftermarket splitter and my OEM dam looks like someone took a sander to it and the side plastic sections are about to fall off. I wouldn't recommend buying an MVII Golf if you live in Texas. It isn't totally flat.

All that work + $ invested for just a sad 1.5 inch lip? I got the MAXTON and it cost 225.00.
Took me ONE hour to install and is sticking out THREE full inches and it comes with 2 rods.
*I never remove a bumper before.

This was the 2nd video that you guys removed the Front Grille and NEVER showed how you unclipped the tabs.
It proves that it is a PITA and will hurt your sales - because of the PITA it is to remove that grille. “Buy a Splitter NOW! We don’t give $.02 if you can install it or not!” LMFAO
