    I'm not sure if you'll even see this, but I have a 05 grand caravan and I can change from defrost to floor and all other settings but it blows cold the rear heat works great.i just have the 2 slide buttons for adjusting the temperature so I'm just not sure which motor I need to replace and I cant do a recalibrate because theres no power button just the fan knob you turn on when you was heat ir a/c to blow.i have an 05 caravan also and it's the same way no power button and just the 2 slide knives for adjusting hot or cold with the red and blue lines to use as a guide key thanks a bunch for all the good info.

      i read all my comments even from years back. if you have the two slider nobs it is possible one of the cables came loose or a mounting point has been loosened, (where the cable attaches to the plastics underneath) so the cable would move but not the insides of the cable that slides your doors. if you don't have automatic temp control you won't have the annoying solenoids.

    • @jeffreysteen9820

      @@ChrisEdwardsRestoration first off, thank you... that's pretty awesome that you still read the comments for videos you've made yrs ago. I tried watching a few but yours was the only one that made sense. You not only told us what was wrong but explained it to us. I was confused about the actuators and having the slider buttons instead of auto temp control but now it all makes sense. So I should start looking for a problem where..? Right behind the control panel where the cables would hook to the slider buttons..? Do you know if the cable connection for the door will be in the same place where the motor and actuators will be for the one that changes from defrost to floor or front..? Thanks again for your help, I really do appreciate it. And that's more than words, I do mean it..!!!

    *Any idea on how to do the reset but on a 2006 Grand Cherokee? What would be the proper button combo?*
    At the moment I get cold on the driver side and mega hot on passenger side, disregarding what I touch...

    • @ChrisEdwardsRestoration
      @ChrisEdwardsRestoration  6 років тому +1

      may be the blend actuator and not the mode, as temperature is controlled by the blend actuator (the ones on the top and bottom) , the reset procedure would be the same if it is dual zone climate control

    My van doesn't have a power button for the heater.. u just turn the knob.. how would I run that test without the power button?

    • @ChrisEdwardsRestoration
      @ChrisEdwardsRestoration  2 роки тому +1

      Sure. Start the van , move driver and passenger sliders all the way to cold . Set blend mode to the top (face) vent position. Turn fan to high. Press and hold the rear washer button and the ac * untill every light lights up then let go it will disco light show for a few seconds to a minute while it tests the modes . Once finished you will have one blinking light. Press that button to turn off computer calibration mode. And thats it for temp settings For blend same procedure but press wiper wash and wiper on

    Hi Chris, I have a 2004 with separate slider control for passenger and driver. I had someone supposedly fix the part that controls the door. Now the driver control heats up only when slid half way over. Does this 2004 year have to be calibrated or did he mess up the gears for the driver slider to be off?

    • @ChrisEdwardsRestoration
      @ChrisEdwardsRestoration  2 роки тому

      All should be calibrated , blend modes can control temperature differences some times. The gear off theory is not it. Theres only one way it goes on and the calibration fixes the limit range

    🚨HELP NEEDED🚨
    I bought my 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.3L V6 used. I'm having an issue with the air blowing hot on drivers side but cold on passenger side (single zone climate control) it gets colder on the drivers side as I drive and when I press the "recycle" air button it gets even a little but colder as long as I am driving.
    The issue I ran into, when I went to replace the actuator is ... Its completely gone! The wires and everything is GONE! I only have 2 actuators when I should have 3!! Its the actuator that is closest to the stereo, best way I know how to describe which one it is. How do I fix this issue? Any ideas? Can I splice the existing wires to make new ones for the missing actuator? Please please please help!! 😭🙏🏼

    • @ChrisEdwardsRestoration
      @ChrisEdwardsRestoration  Місяць тому

      single zone climate control only has 2 actuators, a mode door and a blend door. hot on one side like hot hot or just warmer than the "Cold air". that could simply be a low charge. or the blend door is stuck a bit . these vans are notorious for the vacuum of suck, meaning sometimes it freaks out and goes to defrost then it flips to the vents. check the charge, and try the mode door reset

      @@ChrisEdwardsRestoration okay I'll try that. If there's only supposed to be 2 why is there an empty spot for a 3rd actuator? Also I called the manufacturer and gave them my VIN # and she said my van SHOULD have 3 ... I'm so confused. I'm not sure what my actual issue is??
      SIDE NOTE: My A/C also makes a "buzzing/humming" noise randomly sometimes (best heard on passenger dash) and then the A/C won't blow for a few mins. The power button will be lit up and on but no air. It'll start blowing a little while later but it's really weak and the noise will still be there. This isn't a constant thing, just randomly happens and idk what it is. Any ideas on that?

      @TheSweethart4life Three would be for a duel zone climate control but if it’s missing one they’re super inexpensive add one back in I don’t know how it works actuated there’s no rods for it
