The shakerato

- Such a nice little refreshing drink for the summer. You can use a moka pot or an espresso machine for this. I used about a half ounce of plain simple syrup but you could use a flavored syrup. The lemon for garnish in my opinion is necessary. The torch, not so much but is awesome.
Moka Pot
Grind | Very Fine
Coffee | 20g
Water | 200g
1. Disassemble your Moka pot and fill the lower chamber with pre-boiled water.
2. Insert the filter basket and fill with your coffee grounds.
3. Assemble the Moka pot by screening on the top portion.
4. Place over a stove on medium heat. As the water heats up, it will create pressure, forcing water to pass through the grounds and rise up into the top chamber.
5. Once the top chamber is about ¾ full, remove from the heat.
6. Rinse the base with cold water to prevent the coffee from continuing to brew.
Shakerato
Double shot of espresso OR 2 ounces of Moka Pot coffee
1/2 ounce of Simple Syrup
Ice
Lemon Peel (if desired for garnish)
1. Add espresso, simple syrup, and ice into a cocktail shaker.
2. Shake aggressively.
3. Pour contents into a glass.
4. Garnish with lemon peel if desired. - Розваги

😂
Never poured water onto my coffee before putting the top on. Will try to see if it makes a difference 🙏
It does matter. Has to be hot.
I never have I don't think your meant to🤔
@@T_B1 I am not sure if he was trying to make the coffee bloom. Coffee bloom refers to pouring a small amount of water over your coffee and allowing that to sit for a short while (usually about 30 seconds) before you continue brewing. It's a necessary step in pour over brewing.
@@therightway2130 yes making the coffee bloom part is what I have never thought or know to do. I have tried since and the aroma around the home is great too!
@@sarvsfalefitu5832I'm going to give it a try now :D
I never seen it made this way. I was taught to start with cold water bc I heard it tastes best when it heats slowly for max tastiness.
no. the reason is because leaving the pot on the stove burns the coffee. you want the water to already be hot so u spend as little time burning the coffee beans as possible.
All Italians have left the building.
Che cazzo e questo😢
Narrator: "They came back"
yeah they mad that they have to drink their burnt ass coffee
@@cafecostellaI don't know what makes them mad when you boil the water beforehand not doing it is the reason why their coffee tastes nasty
1st comment of my translation says : "WTF IS THIS LOL"
Sorry, I'm Italian and I'm gonna explain to you how to make Moka like us.
1°- put the water inside the base just to reach the valve.
2°- put the grinded coffee inside filter until top and gently press with teaspoon, screw in the top lid and put it on the fire.
3°- when the Moka start to make sound like bubbling, is time to turn off fire and serve.
Don't wet the coffee inside filter before. And you don't need to fill the base with hot water. 👍
says the person who's country is known for their burnt ass bitter coffee 🤦♂️
Who said we want to make moka like you? No thx

Can you make more videos with moka pod?
Is excellent
In Greece we call it Freddo Espresso and it is the most popular coffee
never thought of making iced coffee with my moka pot, il try that next time
If you guys ever felt useless, think about that lemon peel
Ah, so you don’t understand. It’s a very pretentious trick, but something you’ve definitely had done to your drink at a bar when having a cocktail. Lemon peels, just like every other citrus fruit, are porous. When squeezed, they express an incredibly aromatic and flavorful oil. It’s full of bitterness and very zesty. Drinking things like coffee is meant to be a very sensory experience, wherein you enjoy scents, tastes, textures, etc. it’s a very pretentious hobby, that’s why coffee snobs exist. There’s nothing wrong with adding a bit of complexity to a drink. Also, he toasted it, and rimmed the glass with the smoke, which is another very pretentious way of complicating the “experience,” of the drink. It’s all very intentional, not necessarily necessary, but certainly not useless. I just told you its use, after all
@@dilypoppMy goodness, thank you for answering so politely and informatively
@@asdrieldreemuffin2687 I just like pretentious drinks, lollll, but thank you
@@dilypoppI love everything about this comment.
I'm not into "fancy" coffee but I do make a lot of "fancy" cocktails. It depends on the cocktail, but a lemon or orange peel expressed over the top can absolutely change how the whole drink tastes even to a layperson.
I had to learn how to use one of those when I was a nanny in Puerto Rico, because the lady of the house drank coffee and it was my job to make sure it was ready for her when she got up in the morning. I burned myself a few times, because I had never use one before, but I learned quickly. I didn't mind making the coffee for her in the morning at all. It was only one of the jobs since she was a single mother with boys under the age of 6.
Out of all the espresso users with all their expensive gear out there including mine. This is the true Italian way for espresso. Old school is the best. Great vid.
what did you spray water on the coffee beans?
"Babe your coffe's ready, have a good day at work!"
"I got home 3 hours ago. Dinner's ready."

That gentle sweeping of shame 😂
Love your vids. Where do you get these cups from? I love them
Can we have a kitchen tour?
Delisciousssss I really do not understand the lemon skin at the end🤔🤔...but definitely I'll try in my next coffe shake 🥲🥲
Super
Looks good👍
Is that simple syrup you put in or is it smth else?
Yup simple
That’s why my coffee tastes burnt. I’m gonna try brewing this way ❤
Imma try this! Tell me though: why did you pour little water onto the grounds before brewing?
Exacto, por qué o para qué el agua?
It's called the bloom, and it's used as a first step in many coffee brewing techniques. People generally have pretty mixed opinions about doing it with a moka pot though.
Personally, I dont find it to change the taste at all, but it does get a lot more grounds in the bottom compartment, making for a messier cleanup.
@@bm-br3go thanks.
Can you make a note to put ingredients and steps in caption or comments below

In Italy we use coffee And lemon against headache
It's cold freddo espresso In Greece😉😉
If you shake it with sugar italians would call it shakerato (shaken in an anglisized way). Freddo espresso would sound like an espresso that got cold.

I got a memory of oggy making coffie😂
I have got to try that thing with the lemon I'm going to place an order for the warning 3 delivered then I'm going to make thatcs
Is blooming/preinfusion something that actually improves Moka pot brewing? I thought the grind size on a Moka pot wouldn't be appropriate for that
how do u keep ur moka pot so clean?
May I know where to get that glass? :)
so much effort into a simple cup of coffee
but it is not simple
why do you remind me so much of paxton from never have i ever?? if u havent seen it, its a compliment dw

If you see this, is there much difference in quality of taste between using a FrenchPress and a moka pot? I’ve heard people call them low quality methods and want to confirm from like minded people if such an assertion is true or false
In a french press the vessel doesn’t build pressure. The moka does, pushing water through the coffee. And it needs less water than a french press for the same amount of coffee
French press lets you taste the different flavors in the coffee better because it sits longer in water to bloom, and delivers more caffeine. Moka is as light coffee too but with more bitterness and it could be more difficult to make sure it is not under or over extracted as you get familiar with it and your preparation.
Cool
First
Why you wet the coffee after placing it in the moka pot?
that's what I'm wondering too!
Total idiot
preinfusion and you can say it's a kind of bluming stage idk, some people do it, Italians will kill you if you do it.
bloom, allows the co2 to escape the grounds, leading to a better cup
Da italiana solo se hai mal di testa bevi il caffè con il limone 😁😁
Pra mim, isso num passa de uma judiação, eu aqui doidim por um café o cara vê um vídeo desse😢😢😢
Did I miss something or did he somehow figure out how to use an aluminium moka with induction?

FREDDO ESSPRESSO IN GREECE YEARS NOW🇬🇷
Why do you spray the beans?
It's to remove static. It helps with retention and so the finer coffee particles don't make a mess.
@@Vlxndr thank you so much
Have I just been using a moka pot wrong my whole life? I've never pre-poured boiling water overtop.
In fact it's wrong to put water on top it's not the intended use of a moka pot..
Plus, dont boil the water before pouring in compartment.
Luke warm or room temp is what u need….slowly builds pressure resulting in constant flow through chimney spout, it will start spurting when finishing cup is almost topped.
Stir to combine concentrate then pour and serve. 👌
I would like to know where can I buy the double coffee pot, please.

Did you just bloom moka pot ¿
yes
@@cafecostella that is rather odd. Doesnt it potentially create more channeling ? Plus you wash some of the coffe grounds down to the water chamber. I never tried that tho. Did you noticed anything different when blooming ? Taste wise and how the extraction goes. I do use boiling water and I lift the pot if the coffe stream goes too fast and avoid spitting ofc but blooming somehow never even crossed my mind with moka pot.
