    When an oil filter remover doesn't work (the best kinds are the plier ones not the strap type btw) just stab a screwdriver through the mother and get with it :P

    That's called a grid heater on the tractor, same thing as Cummins uses on their engines, much better than glow plugs, just NEVER use either with it!
    A little grease on the oil filter o-ring will make sure it comes off easily.

      @eye8owne8u 10 років тому

      grid heaters are awesome, less "parts" too, like having 8 glow plugs for a ford. not to mention having to change them...

    Hey bill that is not a drain on the fuel separator that is a Pet cock it shuts the fuel off that is why it is not drilled out completely. KEEP UP THE GOOD VIDEOS!!!!!!!

    The red ring in the fuel filter/bowl is a water indicator. When you see the red ring off the bottom of the bowl it's showing you that you have water that needs to be bled off.

    ALWAYS keep an in/out chart when changing fluids. I sucked out twenty pints of trans fluid through the dipstick of my E4OD but sort of forgot later that night to replace it. I figured out what happened the next day after being towed home at $90 tow plus $1700 for the rebuilt trans. :) Merry Christmas!

    The red ring is supposed to float when you get a lot of water in the fuel , so you can see it just by looking at the filter .

    A lot of times when I can't get an oil filter wrench to fit I use heavy grit sandpaper and my hands to take off the filter. In fact, I had to use that method to take the left suction side filter off my JD 110 TLB last week.

    a mechanic i know showed me how you change diesel engine fuel filters which arent self priming you fill the filter with diesel before refitting the new filter he told me it saves having to crank the engine to draw fuel from the tank to prime the filter

    Hey Bill, glad to see you take good care of your machinery. I was wondering if you have ever serviced the transmission fluid and filter and changed the front and rear differentials. Great vids keep them coming. Merry Christmas as well to you and your family from a viewer from Sydney Nova Scotia Cape Breton.

    they make a zero clearance oil filter wrench - it looks like a seat belt strap on an 1/2 square pipe it turned by a 1/2 drive rachet - its what I had to buy for the small ford diesel motor on the 2nd oil filter I had. its works

    bill you filter is hard to take off because you don't oil the rubber before putting it on.

  • @39gadget

    I am guessing that it would be easier to change the air filters if the loader was lowered to the ground. When you were working on it this way the cylinders and arms were right in your face.

    With that plastic filter, if you do that again on something different and forget, just rewind your camera! It has everything in it including the order of bits in that little glass or plastic bowl.
