I'm considering one of these but I need to know if it has the 'battery-saving-auto-turn-off' feature, and if so is there a way to turn off that feature... the reason being is having that feature and not having a way to turn it off, is a deal-breaker for me because if it takes me a long time to get to the other end of the wire I'm probing (say because it's in a big building with a lot of security check points, for example) then if the toner turns itself off before I can get to the other end, it's not very helpful of a tool in that case now is it?? Now do you see why I kinda need to know the specifics of this feature that some of your other probes have such as the Klein VDV500-123... I don't hate the feature, I get it... you get to the job site and the batteries are dead because the power button got bumped into the on position and now because it's been on for 3 & 1/2 weeks it's dead... not a very helpful tool in that case either... but I can fix the dead battery situation... because the auto-turn-off feature can't be disabled on the Klein VDV500-123 model it's unusable to me as I can't fix that... maybe having a recessed slider toggle that says battery saver [ON] [OFF] or something would be a good compromise.

I have one, it turns itself on when left at on for some minutes , then i turn off and on to keep using

yes, it does switch the probe. Klein Tools VDV500-123 Probe-PRO. i can fond any wire.
