I still remember watching the Complicated MV when I was a teen. Can't believe Avril still looks the same like when she was 17. She helped me get through difficult times.
Funny that you think she looks 17, if you told me she was 47 I'd believe it, she almost looks like a feeble little grandma sitting there like that with her bad posture and all.
I'm so happy that media is giving her spotlight, people kinda forgot about her for a lot of time but she is a really importante piece in the music history of the 00s, she influenced so many girls like Hilary, Ashley, Kelly, Miley, Demi, Selena, Billie, Olivia, Willow...She put the standard for teenage pop/rock girls and deserves so much recognition♥️
She’s forgotten? I feel she’s the most memorable star of the 00s alongside Britney and Beyoncé, tho Bey has had a lot of longevity so people don’t associate her with the 00s as much.
Avril is an ICON ! Taylor Swift sent her flowers congratulations her for her new record love sux and a note saying ' your forever fan '. I'm a forever fan of both of them.
This is probably the best interview of her in years! So glad that she’s still reflecting the best moments from the past and the journey with her fans for almost 2 decades. Her fans grew up with her music, watching her music videos on MTV and now we are all grown up and are working adults and she hardly even changed a bit. If anything, she deserves the MTV Icon Award. Her impact on pop culture is monumental.
Right?! I loved this interview. She’s so genuine and down to earth. She has such an interesting and thought provoking perspective on life. I’m so glad she’s living her best life and I’m so happy for her, she deserves it.
I remember hanging out with her as teenagers, my cousin lived in the next town over from Napanee where she grew up, and it has the best skatepark around so we regularly hung out there with her (before and just after she was famous) before she got to famous lol she was down to earth and an amazing friend back then and doesn't seem to have changed one bit.
I've loved Avril since I was 11, nearly 12. I'm now 31 & love her the same as I did back then, have seen her live twice & am due to see her again which has now been postponed until next year. Her songs have helped me through a lot of crap in life & she's just an amazing person 🖤
The crazy thing is, her last album from 3 or 4 years ago, is a power ballad album and it is amazing. No one seems to talk about it. Her voice is amazing. I'm so glad she is getting all this love. I've been a fan since Complicated.
I love all of this! She’s too adorable and seriously hasn’t aged at all. What is this sorcery?! It’s so great to see her happy, shining, and doing well. I hope she’s healthy and feeling great after all she’s been through. Bringing back so much nostalgia with the new album. I’m obsessed already and trying to learn the words to every song like I did back then. She was my biggest role model as a teen and still now. Keep rockin’ on, sis!
Avril is exactly like a regular non celebrity non famous girl who is just part of your group of friends and who you hang out with on the weekends, the way she babbles on telling her story laughing and giggling it's so nice to listen to her, she's pretty and awesome and a very real authentic person.
I love that she's still herself. She hasn't felt pressure to conform and "keep up" with anything. She loved spikes and she still loves spikes. I don't think the looks I love will change either.
I'm two years younger than Avril. Watching her now reviewing videos from 20 years ago made me feel so happy about the fact that I got to be there when she was starting. I saw her and instantly fell in love with her. I still listen to Let Go and picture myself being 16 and doing my homework in my brother's room. It's so bizarre to think it's been 20 years...
She s sooo cute. Avril is precious. One of my favorite artists growing up. The white shirt with the tie is iconic. I used to wear it when I was younger. The style inspo lol
What I loved more about the new album is that since the first song we can clearly hear and feel an energy punch of awesomeness and really good and refreshing music
Pretty sure I still know all her old albums by heart and could sing every song in order if anyone played the CD near me. She got me through those teenage years, she really did.

Here's to never growing up is my favourite Avril Lavigne music video and is one of my all time favourite songs. It came out the year i graduated from high school so i was on the brink of adulthood, leaving my teenage behind so it hit different. Gen Z is so clueless about Avril. They're all about Billie Eillish and Olivia Rodrigo. They don't know that Avril is the OG.
She's a legendary queen of all time even in this generation 😊 ❤️ Im so thankful when a born in 2000 but when I discovered of skater boy I'm really love I love lavigne 😊
I can't imagine my adolescence without her music! I had 13 when Let Go came out and my parents bought me the record❤️ I still remember her videos on MTV
Great interview! Avril’s career is just so inspiring and authentic. I’ve listened her since her first album, Let Go, her discography got me through so much! Go Avril!! Loving the Love Sux album and can’t wait for the skater boi movie!!
Miss Avril Lavigne looks so gorgeous in the video of her best music videos. I wonder why Avril Lavigne is so an underrated female music 2000s rock artist? I was surprised that 'my happy ending' was shot in Brooklyn, New York (near Woodhull Hospital). : )
Complicated came out in 2002. I was 4 years old. Everytime I would hear that song come on the radio , I would sing it to the top of my lungs lol everytime..but I wouldn't say hell lol girlfriend came out in 2007, 2007 was a good year for me as a kid. Brings back so many memories. Love Avril 💚
I was 12 back then and I remember being obsessed with her debut album. My cousin also likes her and he gave me a cassette with Let Go recorded on it, I don't even know how he did it ;p Good memories ;)
Omg we're the same!! I even got a diary way back 2002 when Complicated was released and she's my Diary cover until today 2022 that diary is still alive haha! She's a true Legend and her songs always Rooocks!
I love the older material- more punk rock of her music so I’m excited more about this new album. I didn’t really like the previous. But she is my fav artist and definitely very artistic

I once wrote this comment at video "why we love Avril" (translated from other lng): The key thing here is that many fans grew up with her. Having heard the first album at a young age and being on the same wave with her, a couple of years later they received a new album where she was already more serious and they were also more serious, continuing to be on the same wave with her. It's like a person who at certain moments in life happens to be nearby, you are kind of classmates or group mates - you have more or less the same events on your mind and ideas about the world around you. At that time, she expressed the thoughts and moods of her generation. Naturally, such a person will evoke positive feelings in you. The second point - basically from album to album, many listeners knew nothing about her life and she did not have time to pester them with her person. Like the same pop stars about whom information comes 24/7. Well, the third point is that yes, she matured and her paths diverged with many, so someone does not accept albums older than BDT.

She dosnt look 17
She actually gained a lot of weight a few years back but lost it all again, which isn't easy to do, so it's good she's staying healthy.

She didn't receive this hype when she released HAW in 2019, meaning people only like her when she's doing what she's doing right now.
nah it's probably marketing. also pop punk is making a comeback so people would feel nostalgic and anticipate another pop puck record from her
