Maximums were such an awesome concept, and it pertains me they were done so dirty when Fusions basically took away any hope of them being given good support.

I think the 2 new fiend maximums are actually good. The level 10s actually have decent enough effects if tribute summoned, and the level 4s are all much easier to assemble.
The Dragias Maximum is one of the best in my opinion. Phoenix Dragon is really useful since it can retrieve any of the pieces from the grave since the left and right pieces are level 7, meaning you can cycle through your deck easier using cards like Ship of Seven Treasures and Heavenly Protection easier, not to mention Dragias can be score you the game easier than a lot of other maximums since it has an effect that lets it attack 3 times with piercing and an attack stat of 4500, of course you have to discard three cards to get the piercing effect, and if you use the multi-attack effect, it gets shuffled into the deck during the end phase, but it can still be effective.
Hopefully with Maximums making a comeback in Go Rush now, they can get some generic support cards to make them more viable. I love the concept, but in practice, they're a pain to actually work with
Since I saw the mechanic I never understood it, it just has the normal games ritual monster issues but worse, I just cant see a reason to play them unless they have an effect that just means Win the game like locking your opponent out of tribute or special summons or not letting them draw for a turn, or have the effect where one piece specials summons the others from deck,, hand or GY and rewards you if the opponent removes it. because like with Ritual decks in the normal game you need to give them the world, searches for days, recur all spent resources, broken effects that can be a win condition on their own and make the card do your taxes and it still will struggle to see play due to inherent consistency issues.
it would have been better if maximum only had the (c) card contain all the effects and have the (L) and (R) pieces be normal monsters. you could at least play the support for normal monsters and not worry about putting them onto the board as theres so many ways to recycle them.
