I got an injury called "golfer's elbow" doing pushups. It was a sharp pain in my elbow that prevented me from getting to my max reps and wasted a lot of time. If you want to avoid this, pay close attention to everything this man says about your wrists. If you have elbow pain doing pushups, keep reading: I will share what worked for me because most videos don't even mention it. Take your thumb and dig into the muscles around your elbow. You are looking for a "knot", meaning an area that is sore and tight. If you don't find it, fully extend your elbow, and try again, this time while rotating your wrist. Once you find the knot, dig into it with your thumb. Follow it back up to your wrist for as far as you feel pain. They call it "golfer's elbow" or "tennis elbow" depending on what side the pain is on, but its actually the muscles that connect from the wrist all the way to the elbow. Avoid using your elbow, keep massaging that knot for a few days, and you should be good to go.

I agree. Less hurting on your wrists. I place a pair of double-ended glass lifting suction cups on the floor, placing my hand on the bar between the suction cups. Very safe as the cups lock on the floor with no risk of sliding.
Great shit. Wish I knew this science years ago. I struggled doing push ups feeling strain, pain and stress in my wrist and shoulders. Preciate the knowledge.
Im 26 & I do 200 push ups a day. I have recently been having some serious wrist pain. I thought it was just part of it! Now I know I been having my palms wrong! Thank you for this!
I relasided doing push ups maximaly 3-4x a week. Everyday its to much stress. And not doing fast, when I go down I stay 2 seconds, 2second up and full movement. I am useing push ups board. Really good assistant and saves your wrist. Also good is plank. 3times a week a 2 times pull ups. I take one hour and doing as much as I can.
crisp and solid, nice work. I like doing various pushups, have experimented with various tempos and holds, will work in what you're talking about. For my hands, sometimes I use rotating handles, but when on the ground, I flare out my fingers and 'grip' the ground, it seems to feel better and be more stable to me. Have a great week!
I am 56 and in ok shape, but this man is an inspiration. I shall use this to help motivate myself to train more regularly. Thank you for posting this informative video.
Not many people talk about the hand form, but it's crucial. I couldn't do push-ups for the longest time because my wrists hurt so bad from them, someone suggested exactly what he suggested in the video and it worked beautifully.
Thank you for this video. 42 and haven’t worked out in a while plus I’m naturally slim. I never knew about correct pushup form and my wrist always hurt after about 100. I really appreciate this information.

4. Hands should be placed together with the thumbs touching as well as the index fingers to form an equilateral triangle - this targets the pectoralis major and...

Just a typo,
2. Thumbs off the floor.
and not mentioned in the video: if you want to target biceps you do reverse grip(literally what it sounds like, hands, pointing to your feet, although it doesn't have to be literally pointing to them)
and to increase intensity, find something like a bar for inclined(works upper chest more) or to place your feet on for declined(works lower chest more), increase the height of the feet to lift even more weight with just your core and upper body(increasing the height with inclined though doesn't work though since that would only eventually lead to you standing up lol, but at a 45 degree angle it is tough pushing off away from the surface since the angle places a lot of effort on the upper chest and shoulders)
strengthen your shoulders with dips and core with L-sits(if you can't do it start with tucked first, then alternating one leg forward at a time, then holding one leg forward for each leg, then holding both forward and you've reached L-sits like gymnasts do)
you need this to progress to tucked planche and the follow ups that eventually lead to a full planche, after that you can move on to hand stand push ups once you strengthen your shoulders and core(ESSENTIAL, it needs to be TOUGH, rigid, like an unmovable wall, do resistance training, if you keep doing flexing exercises like crunches, treating your abs as if they are arms or legs, you would only have issues in the future, the abs are a transitory muscle group, it needs to stay still to transfer energy/strength effectively).

Get one of those pull up bars for a door way, bust out a few every time you walk through it. My back and biceps blew up quick.
Thanks for sharing. The wrist thing was always an issue for me but now I can solve that problem.
Thanks man! It's the little things learned through experience that really pay off. Great tips!! Thanks for sharing.

This guy is amazing, God Bless him. All the important details.
I definitely need this ! Just got serious about doing pushups daily now I have an understanding that form is key 👊🏾
Thank you for making this video, you solved many issues I was having. I have issues with my elbows and wrists. This solved that problem.
I started doing push-ups a few weeks ago. This video was really helpful, thank you :)
Great video. He's genius & genuine. Thanks for sharing.
78 years old and never miss a day without pushups and squats. My favorite way to do pushups is with 2 Kettlebells and my hands on top of the handle.
SALUTE ! ... KEEP THE HEALTHINESS INTACT !
❤ Respect! Thank u for your comment. Inspiring. Thank you !

I agree. Less hurting on your wrists. I place a pair of double-ended glass lifting suction cups on the floor, placing my hand on the bar between the suction cups. Very safe as the cups lock on the floor with no risk of sliding.
78 needs his own video !
I always had pain in my wrists when doing pushups. Now I know why. This is pure gold!
This is great advice. I get wrist pain from pushups and this helps.
Try taping your wrists.
Never felt wrist pain. Not even after 1k in a day. My lats were done, though. 😂
I get wrist pain too. I will try doing push ups with my thumb off the ground!!
@@fitlifestylebiggainzhow do you hit lats with push-ups all I feel is the front delt
Great shit. Wish I knew this science years ago. I struggled doing push ups feeling strain, pain and stress in my wrist and shoulders. Preciate the knowledge.
Facts 4:25 … I f’d my wrist up few years back. That’s exactly how I do my push ups now.
Great video man! Knowledge is key🔑
💯
I’m in my early 30s I appreciate the tips from the older guys, especially techniques.
It’s incredible how he has so much knowledge about push ups and muscle parts🙌🙌
4:20 YOOOOO I NEVER KNEW THAT ABOUT THE HANDS!!! INCREDIBLE KNOWLEDGE!!
I'm a 56 year old lady from the UK and I couldn't do any push ups last year. I can do around 30 now. This is amazing advise. Thank you
Is he 56 or 46? This man doesn't look a day over 46!
💯
facts our brother looks great
Man I remember strictly bartalk interviews
Well 46 don't look like him either!!
36
Awesome! I turned 41 on Christmas. I'm really enjoying calisthenics with isometrics.
Im 26 & I do 200 push ups a day. I have recently been having some serious wrist pain. I thought it was just part of it! Now I know I been having my palms wrong! Thank you for this!
20x10 ?
I relasided doing push ups maximaly 3-4x a week. Everyday its to much stress. And not doing fast, when I go down I stay 2 seconds, 2second up and full movement. I am useing push ups board. Really good assistant and saves your wrist. Also good is plank. 3times a week a 2 times pull ups. I take one hour and doing as much as I can.
Post a video let’s see

AYO good money, bringing value to workouts with these guests! Much love from Argentina, south america!
Great content as usual ❤❤❤ best calisthenics page ever .....
Thanks Vlad! I appreciate that!
crisp and solid, nice work. I like doing various pushups, have experimented with various tempos and holds, will work in what you're talking about. For my hands, sometimes I use rotating handles, but when on the ground, I flare out my fingers and 'grip' the ground, it seems to feel better and be more stable to me. Have a great week!
Great video, it would be nice if you ask him to do a video on pull ups also and what he eats, because the man looks young
Ok will do
This just improved my push-up money game, thanks bro. That slight tweak in hand position was everything!
Mashallah, men like him are rare. 56 years old with this body, I can’t say anything. Thanks for the advice

Excellent teacher too!👏🏽👏🏽
I remember watching this guy with doc back in the days when youtube was fresh. Respect to the brother for looking great at his age 🫡
I am 56 and in ok shape, but this man is an inspiration.
I shall use this to help motivate myself to train more regularly.
Thank you for posting this informative video.
Thats good money😅👍👍
I will change my push ups, starting right now. Brotha doesn't even seem tired or the least bit winded. Respect!!
They should be teaching this in gym class instead of just letting people do pushups wrong their entire life.
Not many people talk about the hand form, but it's crucial. I couldn't do push-ups for the longest time because my wrists hurt so bad from them, someone suggested exactly what he suggested in the video and it worked beautifully.
this increased my pushups by 5 and im overweight lol. i could do 23 pushups in a row but now i just did 28 thank you. Jesus loves you all btw :)
Good shit
Now I’ve got more motivation/inspiration! Thank you!
I'm so glad!
I hope I look that good when I’m 56
Thank you for this video. 42 and haven’t worked out in a while plus I’m naturally slim. I never knew about correct pushup form and my wrist always hurt after about 100. I really appreciate this information.
Without the beard bro would look 35. Impressive
Especially with the hair dye…but dude is definitely aging well ❤
Thanks for the technique!
56? Built like a 25 year old god damn 💪🏽
I wish I looked like that at 25 (lol)
This dude is on point! I implemented his hand technique and can do twice as many push-ups, and the burn is so much better!💪 Thanks OG!
56? he looks 30
He definitely can pass for 30 that's crazy
Black don’t crack
He don’t look no 30😂
Black genetics
He don't look no 30 lol
We all appreciate you for sharing the knowledge OG. Thank you 🙏🏿
