Ryan, great content. I'm really enjoying the level of detail you go into for flight preps and in flight decision analysis, such as the shifting/adding weight to the nose section to bring back the CG due to the large passenger load. Sims are close but still have errors. In this case both Little Navmap and MSFS show the RW for AYWB as asphalt and clearly the actual RW is a sloppy muddy mess after some heavy rains. Not sure if you are aware, but the link for "Fly this in Flight Sim" takes you right back to this video.
I will, but as I'm not on Patreon I'll plot my own course but try to select similar weather :)
Kodiak of course
Hi Ryan. Do you work for the MAF?
That's the link to this video. Wasn't it supposed to lead to a simbrief flight plan, or something?
@@AERO_Droneservice It's not MAF but NTM - New Tribes Mission , I think.
Kinda digging this new format style... Definitely a nice change of pace!
Love this channel!
I have to visit PNG.
Been watching you since you started the channel.
Cool to see you out with Trent playing.
Enjoyed the flight! Glad you made it safely. I appreciate your commentary throughout the flight. 🙏
Really appreciate your compassionate, selfless, humanitarian approach to your job in flying people and supplies for the beautiful people of PNG. My father and I did some Missionary work in Kenya, and there's nothing more fulfilling. Just becoming one woth the people is a blessing in itself. Live your material. Continued blessings to you, your family, and the beautiful people of PNG!!
Always great content. I enjoyed the flight with your passengers at the end. We got to see your flight while guarding their privacy.
Your outros are becoming off the chart. So lovely and hauntingly beautiful.
Glad you like them!
Ryan, don’t stress about content deadlines, just post quality like this when you can and I will be a very happy subscriber! The return flight footage at the end was superb btw.
I agree. But a lot of UA-camrs do that because it seems it influences the ranking algorithm.
I appreciate that!
@@ThorNjord I just set the channels I really like so they give me a notification for every video, which means no ranking algorithm involved anyway. (I like a few channels that only post say once a month or less.) I almost never use the UA-cam main page.
Great to see you back enjoying flying in PNG Ryan. Really enjoyed this one with you, as you invited us into your fascinating world of action, changing 'on the fly'. :)
More to come!
I am humbled by your dedication. The skill doesn't hurt. Thank you
Good morning Ryan, from southern Connecticut.🇺🇸
Hi Ryan, a really nicely done video!! As a fellow pilot (but not flying) I love the flight detail and weather planning, and definitely love the scenic side of this fabuous landscape. I really enjoyed the "supersonic" return flight with the 360 cameras doing their thing. It was nice to see the crowd swamp the plane after shutting down. A superbly done job!
thanks
Wow, that take-off from Wabo was almost spiritual, Ryan. I didn't follow much back home in the Kitfox but glad to see your videos flying back in PNG. Also the fast forward flight home was a nice touch. Looking forward to future PNG videos. Good stuff, Thanks.
Thanks, Ryan. Always a pleasure to watch a pro in action.
Really nicely done!! Also love the new format
GREAT video!!!
One of my favorites!!! 😃👍
Another beautiful vid Ryan. Really enjoyed seeing you pull the plane out of the hangar to do the preflight etc. Adds great context to what it's like for you day to day. Keep em coming!
Always great content Ryan keep doing your thing and we shall keep appreciating it.
Loved this video, especially the time lapse ending.
Recently subscribed to your channel. Love to see UA-camrs evolve and can see how your cinematography has improved in this video.
Love the new style of video. The return trip time-lapse was a nice addition. Keep up the great work!
I was just thinking that I hadn't seen any videos from you then bam! Here it is. Great content Ryan. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Great video. It was worth waiting for. Your descent through the clouds and approach at treetop level had me on edge and I'm even a pilot myself.
Wow Ryan, that timelapse with the music at the end was really beautiful! 🤩
Glad to see you posting again -- stay safe and healthy! :)
Loved the time lapse at the end! Do more of that! God bless you brother
Really cool video - I enjoyed that one after a little break! SInce I started watching your clips I have begun my own aviation journey towards a CPL, so it really adds anotgher dimension (not to mention totally awesome seeing the Kodiak!)
Wow! This video feels like a master class in pilotage & dead reckoning skills! Thanks for posting & keep up the great work! Stay safe.
Very nice Ryan. Lovely scenery. Great to see you back in PNG. Just breathtaking. Thanks!
Love the drone shots and visuals at the end. Adds so much context! Also that decent felt a lot like an emergency decent procedure, great real world practice short of actual emergencies!
Superb video! A great distillation of what your missionary bush flying is all about and the need for pilotage. Enjoyed the contrast between the speeded up return flight made with the detailed study of the out going flight - it all adds to understanding how you operate. The low level route from Goroka to Wabo is a lovely route to follow - I've not tried this higher level route but after watching this video I shall be recreating it very soon! Lovely video - thanks Ryan.
Ryan - glad you're back & settled in. I was concerned because of the time gap between now & your previous video. I enjoyed the music at the end & accelerated return trip in the last minute or two of your video. Kind of gives some closure knowing you were able to round-trip it.
Appreciate listening to you verbalize your thought process. Always teaching! Beautiful videography as always. What a neat place to fly!
Stunning. Ever better videos and insights. Especially your decision making in challenging weather is really top notch. For those that fly themselves they know that yours is very professional.
I tip my hat! As I do after every video of yours! Not going to miss any!
What an amazing video! The take-off at the end was beautiful!
Great video Ryan. I recently started watching your videos. Looking forward to more! Thank you for all you do!
Welcome!
Very nice video. Thanks. Loved the music too.
your job is so amazing. loved the last bit of your video
Great video and awesome pioleting 😊
Man these people are blessed to be waking up the views like that😍
Enjoyed this episode, thanks for sharing Ryan
that time lapse is the icing on the cake! great video once again my friend 😎
Enjoyed the video and the time lapse at the end was really cool! Thanks for sharing Ryan!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Gorgeous video Ryan.
Beautifully filmed. Thank you.
Such impressive piloting skill and decision making... wow!
Beautiful flight, thanks for the time consuming editing you do. Safe travels!! See you on the next one.
Ryan,
Its good to see you back in the saddle, hope you have settled in. Great video &listening to you discussing weight and balance and how you would get down through the cloud, very interesting. Great landing in all that slush, good to see all the locals waiting for you, anyway great ending & takeoff back above the clouds to Goroka. Thanks for the ride and stay safe.
that is one deceptively brilliant workhorse .
This operation looks too dangerous.
First time I've watch you - that was wonderful.
Good morning from Minnesota USA! Great episode!
Olamania! Thank you so much for this wonderful trip down memory lane. Much the same as it was in the '70s, but now more development around Goroka strip, digital instrumentation not analogue, and the plane is bigger. God bless you, keep up your great work! Giramben.
Great flight, loved the banking descent, and the return flight fast forward was awesome.
Always a lot of great work. Appreciate you greatly. Onward 🌈
Great music at the end and fantastic production value. Nice one!
Thank you! God Bless. Greetings from Greece!
Neat one Ryan, thanks for sharing
that was fascinating to watch. Thank you.
Great to see you back again Ryan particularly liked the end of video with music showing collection of passengers and climb out of Wabo ! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
@@MissionaryBushPilot I certainly did more of this type of thing please. I am a pilot also and I must admit the only time I have crossed a ridge like you did I was flying in Majorca in the Balearics and I still cringe now about doing it as it happens it as a light wind day with virtually no down draughts or up draughts. I noted your comment to one of our other pilot colleagues, nice to have those constant weather conditions in PNG !
always enjoy watching your channel. :)
Great music selection on you edit at the end on your departure! Bravo!
Wow! The take off and ending to the video is fantastic. Great music choice
Thanks for Yehezkel Raz! That was so appropriate for the Journey back to Goroka.
Very nice video!!! ❤
Between the scenery and music, that got me in the feels.
That was a sweet video... Really enjoyed the time-lapse return.
thank You Missionary Bush Pilot , amazing Flight , so Good
😊🤗💖🙏🏋🦁🦬🌼🌴🌻😊🤗💖🙏🏋🦁🦬🌼🌴🌻
Keep up the GREAT work !!!
This was helpful to me, I learned a lot about flying, wow, thank you.
I like that stall horn sound right before landing. Perfect landing!
Great video. How you implement music in your videos really adds to quality. Just enough right at the end.
Thanks, your videos are always interesting
Thank you, Ryan.
Outstanding !
The ending was epic with the relaxing music...! 👍
What awesome professionality my respect
Thumbs up for the 80s synth music in the opener. 👍
Enjoyed the ride along.
Good to see you flying the highlands again - that is a beautiful area .
Cool vid, thanks, good to see you back in the bush😁
Fantastic video Ryan! Stay safe and God bless.
Thanks 👍
Wow the Kodiak is such a capable machine. Amazing video.
Great vid! Love the takeoff at the end
Fantastic 👍👌God bless you 🙏🙏
Thank You for this another great video. You seem to be worried with something or tired. Keep up the great work Ryan and cant wait to see another flight of yours. Have a great day
I was worried I would have to turn back to Goroka and have a futile flight due to weather
PNG videos are so interesting to see. More complicated terrain, complicated weather and short bush runways, along with longer plane you had in US.
Fabulous flights!
I loved the last bit of fast forward back to Goroka!
I am from Australia and having done some construction work on Manus Island in PNG I really appreciate your selfless service as well such a long way from home for you. PNG can be a challenging place to work and live for long extended periods particularly climate. As a beginner Recreational pilot am amazed at the skill it must take to navigate, manoeuvre, land and take of i. That terrain. Amazing to see you having to wear a jacket in the beginning too.
love the timelapse at the end !
I'm someone who's using the Windy app for sailing and kite surfing.... amazing to see who all uses this app lol
Great vid, enjoyed it.
Love the time lapse ending!!!
Another very interesting flight video. Thanks Ryan. I'll be flying over to the Scottish island of Tiree and back (as a passenger) from Glasgow on Wednesday. Looking forward to my trip on the Twin Otter again. Not quite as demanding as flying in PNG, but the scenery is beautiful when the sun shines.
used Tiree as a diversion field on a trip up to Scotland some years ago in my PA24 when I couldn't get in to Glenforsa VFR. Stayed overnight then flew to Glenforsa the next day. Great trip 👍
Blue side brother! keep 'em coming. We are all still here!
Hey Ryan. Thanks for the upload, looking forward to many more. What a beautiful place. :-)
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video Ryan. Brings back a lot of memories seeing the swarms of locals (pax included) approaching the aircraft. Did I see that you used a regular bathroom-type scale in the ground that you used for weighing? Great solution.
And the scenery in this video, coming through the hole in the clouds to see the terrain & river, also brings back s lot of memories. The I didn't find the ridges at Wabo so terrifying compared to others in the highlands, and Tabubil of course.
Keep up the good work, and the videos
yeah the digital scale we use is a heavy duty scale that can take a pretty good beating
Great flight, Ryan! And the timelapse of the return was really "artsy" and awesome...loved it!
I’m a pilot and I often fly from Kentucky to Virginia across the Appalachians, I’m always crazy nervous of the ridges.
Watching that approach made my heart skip a beat seeing how close you have to fly to those ridges 😂. I can’t imagine doing that, I’d feel like I was going to clip a wing or something.
The surface winds are much stronger in the USA than here in PNG. When I was flying my Kitfox, I NEVER did close ridge crossings...EVER. In the States there are big down drafts, but because we are close to the equator, the winds are very light here
Awesome sequence at the end with the music. Inspiring and relaxing. You could it more in your videos! I'm looking forward to fly the route in Flight Sim.
One of your best !
