my ex never liked okro soup till this day anything that "draws" e no wan hear even ogbono..... he doesn't just like it at all.... if you like preach from now till next year he wouldn't budge.... still my favourite... i will try this new one
I love the soup because even those with asthma can cook this without blenching the oil and causing difficulty in breathing. It is also easy to make. I am definitely going to try this.
Im cameroonian and i have never heard about that cameroon pepper. In the Other hand we have one of , if not the most fragrant pepper in the world, it is called "Poivre de Penja = Penja white pepper " . You should definitlty check it out.

Yes it is really from Cameroun,they produce them, that pepper and thyme is produced in commercial quantities, they are exported to countries, in the US very expensive.
I love okro soup, and I can't wait to make this one. I always plant a lot of okra in my garden because I like it so much. The difficult part is that it is hard to get a lot of the ingredients where I live. We don't even have an African grocery store here. I can order from Amazon though, so maybe I can get most of what I need that way. I have already received bitter leaf that way. Amazon is expensive though, so I can't do it often. Still, I can do it once in a while.

This looks delicious. I'm not Nigerian, I'm Zambian and Luvale by tribe but our men avoid eating okra for 2 reasons 1. During traditional ceremonies involving food, serving okra is seen as an insult to the men basically indicating that their manhood is as useless as the okra is loose and slimy 2. We believe it induces infertility.
