i worked there as a kid and the store manager got mad at me because he thought i was talking to a union organizer. i didn't even know what that was and he thought i was playing dumb but i was dumb.

Its out there, you just have to know where to look, I had 7 pkgs(4 rolls) today, reduced down to 3 due to limits, I gave one to a viejo and 3 to the person in line in front of me.
At my local HEB Plus in Round Rock, Texas, the same few customers are there pressing on the doors at 8 a.m. every morning to buy the full limit of everything allowed, so the rest of us who are being calm, can't get simple things like flour or powdered milk. H-E-B please stop the hoarders, not only with limits, but with recognition of repeat buyers, not allowing them to gouge before your polite & calm customers get there.
In Katy TX went 2 weeks ago before 8am saw their employees yes their employees loading their trunks with TP and paper towels I thought the store was open already then saw the line and left. No...H-E-B has chosen to refer people to their wholly-owned subsidiary, Favor, erroneously claiming that their fees have been waived, and charging more than the shelf price for each item. However, stores like Wal-Mart and Dollar General do have a dedicated senior/handicapped hour...best to call the store nearest you to double-check.
I hope all the idiot hoarders actually personally consume the goods they've stopped others from getting. If I see someone selling TP out of their garage I'm calling the police. People in CA have been arrested for selling hoarded goods. My bet is when this is over in a month or two food banks and garbage dumps will be inundated with expired and spoiled food.
Nice job! Please consider hiring security guards to escort customers to their cars. I live all the way in Virginia and am hearing stories about the San Antonio store lot robberies.
This is nice and all.... But the H.E.B on spring cypress and grant in cypress tx hasn't had toilet paper / paper towels / lysol in a week and i check daily if not twice a day.. No canned food. Meat is hit or miss.
Then why in the hell is my HEB nearly wiped out? Why weren't you prepared? Your as bad as ERCOT. There was no meat, no vegetables, no frozen food, lunch meat, eggs, milk, you name it. I'll not shop there again.
Let your employees wear masks instead of worrying about your image. Your employees are putting themselves at huge risk interacting with the public constantly. I hope you know you're garnering a reputation online as one of the companys being ok with putting their workers health/lives at risk over image. Not cool.
Not even necessary. Has zero to do with image/risk. The risks are from the people who've lost their minds and are packing out retailers not realizing that it creates an environment that even the staph infection would thrive on.
I don't know if you realize this, but there are a lot more companies that are doing this right now. Amazon, HEB, Walmart, Fast Food chains, Restaurants, truck drivers, health care workers, everyone is putting their front lines at risk by interacting with the public daily just to keep people fed and working through this crisis. Unlike most jobs that can be worked from home, these people don't exactly have the luxury. Some of us are willing to sacrifice our health to keep the world from falling into chaos. If you aren't then just stay home. About the mask, most are not even a reliable method of preventing the spread. It MIGHT protect you from someone who sneezes in your face. However, even with one of those masks on you will more than likely still have been exposed unless you have a perfect seal which most of those masks online aren't rated or capable. Of course scientists still aren't sure if you can get infected if the virus gets in your eyes, so unless you wear goggles too it's a waste. The mask especially does not help at all if you don't wash your hands. The virus can live on surfaces for hours, and sometimes even days. Wash your hands and sanitize public surfaces and if you are in public don't touch your face. Keep a distance between you and the people around you and you will be fine.
Zero bs here. The warehouses are massive and there is a new one that went operational just prior to the virus appearing in china. The issue isnt supply, its demand, and no retailer on earth is capable of maintaining such a high level of constant demand.

Put limits per cart for items like toilet paper. It’s ridiculous that no one I know in SA can find it... STOP the hoarders already!

We need queues before entering stores and limitations placed on items that can be bought. Much stricter control over how goods are consumed.
Then you need to find a way to ship products faster to the store. They are empty!!!!!!!!!!
