They went from "We think orcs are black people and that makes the orcs racist" to "WE made orcs into Mexicans and were not racist for doing that, also don't pay attention to how we dressed up orcs like Mexicans".

Its not. Its nationalistic. Youre the racist for thinking all Hispanics are Mexicans. We wear those clothes in Colombia and cuba. So how are they mexican?

They are not mexican. That is all a mistaken interpretation caused by only looking at the image superficially. That picture shows diversity from around the world. It's symbolic of your freedom to make them exactly what you want them to be, including the evil violent savages if you want them to be that. This whole debacle is a lot to do about nothing.
Equally, there is no reason high elves could not be evil conquerors or even cannibalistic to borrow an idea from Divinity, and this edition FREES you to do exactly this. In fact, anything this content creator complains about orcs not being is exactly the things he CAN make them be in his own campaign with this edition, specifically because it gives him that freedom to choose it. Why is it that conservatives always confuse freedom for oppression and mistakes putting entire peoples into fixed stereotypical boxes for liberty?
You have lost nothing. You still have your raging barbaric hordes. But everyone else who didn't like being forced to play one specific way gained freedom to choose otherwise. That's what equality of freedom is.

@@ShadeOnTheUtube They literally dressed them up like Mexicans, there's an "orc" there with a sombrero looking like Dani Trejo, are you telling me my eyes are lying to me, these are not what orcs look like, these are what half-orcs look like before they began getting erased, minus the Mexican garbs. Also, I'm not a conservative.

The way I approach it, putting Hasbro/WotC approach aside, the half/demi races (I mean 1/2 orcs/elves) I would still incorporate. Just cos they decided not to include in the looming PHB doesn't mean they stopped existing (Dragonlance has plenty of half elves).
As for Orcs, well bar stereotyping with Mexican affectation there is more to the orc/greenskin races (Orcs of Thar supplement for the old TSR D&D added lots of flavour). Also, taking a look at another rpg system - Shadowrun, orcs have a myriad cultural system by region in that setting other that the Tolkien-esque orc.

Just because WotC did away with races and half-breed races, that doesn't mean we players can't keep using the terms...right?

What a blast from the past, random overzoomed jpegs shoved in my face.
I agree with you, but your editor... should be wearing glasses next time you hire them.

Yep, i love orks/orcs. Always inspired by their strength and brutality. You could try to put a little civilization into this species. Wow had cities and villages, and even pig farming, for Tolkien the orks represent a grim version of industrialization (which is cranked up for 40k orks and their brutal machines). Turning the orcs into super peaceful mexicans is not it. Ive seen people reinterpret that concept to more of a mix of tribal and banditos which totally works for orcs. Not whatever hippie peace shit that this modern DnD stuff is.
Loved the video....although the blown up jpegs did effect the experience a little (hard to admire the great artwork of orks when their images were probably the 1st things grabbed off google images by your editor).
