On June 12, 2024, we sprayed herbicide on beets.
The machine used was a 1,200-liter sprayer manufactured by Toyo Agricultural Machinery Co. We spray at the base of the beet so that as little of the chemical as possible gets on the growing beet. The hot weather was effective and it was a perfect day for spraying herbicide. There were some accidents, such as a flat hose right after we started, but we were able to finish without incident. This is very important work because when weeds multiply, they have a significant negative impact on the growth of the beets and increase the amount of labor involved. We want to make sure that the weeds are well controlled.
