Agree with the writer below, one of the best tutorial videos of its kind. Clear, unhurried, detailed without being too technical, nice clear photography and crisp audio, if only the others could follow this formula, this really is the definitive way, thank you! I have a real workhorse RCA tablet, same model as presented here so I shall archive this tutorial in the unfortunate event that I may need it, I feel confident now that I could deal with most most issues, the correct disassembly and finicky details are all so well demonstrated. Whilst on the subject, I have to say that my RCA Voyager, with an Apple clone launcher, has been superbly reliable and has done all I've asked from it and more. The various terrible reviews written about the Voyager were grossly unfair and as proven completely incorrect. I challenge anyone to produce a mini super computer of equal quality for the same unbelievable price, mine was about $ 40.00. If you can afford $ 1,500.00 for a "better" brand, good luck to you, I can't. I am grateful to RCA for bringing this technology to the poorer of the Nation, people who would never have been able to afford anything similar. So, stuff your arrogant reviews! Fantastic ! Perfect execution! Didn't say "guys" once! Went in orderly manner with just enough explanation for each step., I didn't scream "get on with it!", once. It wasn't like asking the time and getting a treatise on making a watch like many of these videos.. Great audio, also rare. Organized linear steps make it easy to back up a bit to clarify a point. I now know where and what the components are how and get to them safely. I'm sure I could and likely will do this if mine fails. All tutorial posters need to watch this if for no other reason than how to create a useful, information packed video tutorial that is clear, doesn't waste my time or talk over my head. great job!
I had 2 tablets, one the glass was cracked and the other the LCD went out. With your video I was able to make 2 out of one. Your video was great. now I feel confident enough o fix both my kids tablets if it happens again. Thanks so much.

Dude. Awesome vid! Thank you so much for this, you saved my tookus. I have the Trio Stealth G2 and the guts look EXACTLY the same as the RCA in your vid. Actually I have 2 and one of them (the one with the messed up power button, just like yours) is being used now for parts.Just swapped out the guts on the one with the cracked screen with the one with the bad power button. Only difference was they had glued the battery in instead of adhesive strips.

I used a heat-gun and it worked great! What to do is to apply heat very carefully. That is because you'll
have to only apply toward the middle of the screen on the outside. Then use an old charge card, or something like it,
and put pressure with the plastic card's edge, between the screen and the frame. Then wash up with paint thinner, and use alcohol 70% to clean up.

The battery in my cousin's tablet is completely stuck. And I see you just took it out without any effort.
Soleil Quiles Some have better adhesive than others, if you push the pry tool under the areas I did it should come off relatively easy.

Watched your video to see how to completely disassemble a tablet. Had a problem with my Kacaso 9100 not turning on. All my research pointed to bad battery. I have ordered and changed the battery and now have power to the tablet but the screen will not come on. Any ideas would be appreciated. Video was very helpful on how to take the tablet apart.

there has been more than one model of the 10 inch tablet so I would make sure if the disassembly would be the same .

I have two of these tablets one with a cracked screen and one with the power button broken from the logic board. I have replaced a screen on a iPod touch 4th gen. so I figured this was going to be about the same after watching your video this looks easier. But the one with the power button problem is going to need a new one. The whole back of the button is completely shot all that is left is the metal piece and the black front of it. Do you know were I can get a new button?

Skip when you have it open take a look at the charging connector.... is it a bit loose i would maybe recommend trying to soldering it back in place. just like he showed for the power button in the video.... dont get the iron too hot cause again its very delicate are...... im no expert persay but that would be my first thought

Thank you for the video one of the best I have seen, but I do have a question my display is not cracked but it flickers and lines through changing all the time I did check the ribbon cable and the are seated nicely. is the LCD panel still bad or is it a video card

ok everything went fine till i got to the digtizer n glass removal ..since I can't run the blowdryer at this hour and boiling water didn't work ..why not try the microwave to loosen the glue ? It works to resolder video cards doesn't it ? (do not try this ) 2 minutes of smoke melted particles n burnt towel later ...I'm thinkin screw the touch screen! how am I gonna rig it up to the BIGSCREEN ?? hahah thanks for all your help. ....maybe it was the oven I was supposed to use ? have a good one !

So um i used a pocket knife to remove the battery and i bent it a little i mean a lot and now it's all wrinkly but mostly flat. Will it still work?Also the tablet wont charge at all and the little reciever looking things in the charging port are standing except for one thats not even there but theres a spot there where its supposed to be and thats why i looked up a fix

Is it possible to get a new piece like the one you sodder back into place? The tablet I'm working on had the power button fail, but now that piece is damaged and it looks like the black tab piece is missing?? (Assuming the previous owner was using something to press the power once the button was gone, but now I'm not sure if I can repair it )

Mine is cracked, but not on the outside. The screen is really messed up on the inside. There's stuff that looks like cracks, but it isn't. Every time I touch the screen, I can see it quaking. I am assuming it is impossible to fix.
remember seeing the silver and gold thingy behind the screen.... that is your issue
Ok.. So if the screen is getting the lines threw it and is white it will be the LCD cable getting loose but if there is a crack going threw the screen (half is white other is reg display) that means the LCD is cracked/broken correct?
Brandon Spencer That is accurate trouble shooting, with the lines it could also mean the ribbon cable is damaged and might need a new display.

I use a hot air rework station but a heat gun from ebay, Harbor Freight, amazon or etrade supply. It sounds like its your glass and LCD that are damaged.

I tried to do this to my daughters tablet but i accidentally detached the the black and red twisted wires that start at the other end of the tablet and attach to the mother board. Any suggestions or do i have to take it in to be repaired?

Thanks for the video, I was able to replace the screen but thebimages and words are flipped, any reason what would cuase this.
I ordered the screen however it looks physically larger than the actual one. It looks like it sits over the lip of the plastic frame. Do you have a specific part number/ place to order from so I can get the exact size screen for the same tablet that appears on your video? Or do you recommend I use the one I have. It sticks out about 1/8 of an inch at the sides and 1/16 of an inch on the top and bottom. Thanks!

I stepped on my Viking 10 RCA tablet/laptop and I think the inside is cracked I can see the crack but can't feel it. The touchscreen only works in one tiny corner. Please help me I got this for Christmas this year and broke it on the same day.

I replaced the screen in my daughter's tablet and it powers on normally, however the touch screen part no longer functions. When I investigated I discovered the clamp holding the digitizer cable in place is apparently damaged and will not seat properly. Is there some other way to hold the digitizer cable firmly enough in place to enable the touch screen once again? Thanks in advance.

Rod Owen That is a tough situation. I would suggest some strong tape or possibly gluing the bottom side of the cable to the board.

***** Yes it is. The screen is so cracked that is on the verge of breaking off. The tablet sacrificed its screen to kill a huge spider! It was crawling on the wall and I panicked and threw it at the wall xD. By the way, thank you!

my problem is one which I have had before but not like this. so today I was unpacking my normal go to bag and I stupidly placed my rca voyager 7 android tablet on the edge of my sofa instead of in a safe location and it fell to the floor face down. now I have lost 2 tablets and 1 notebook to falls but this time my tablet has a line running through it and I turn it on and off and nothing. now I theorize it is a broken screen in your opinion is it a broken screen? and will the fix you put in this video work for it. please respond a.s.a.p. thank you.
Thinking of replacing the screen on my brothers tablet its a DigiLand 10.1 Inch Quad Core Tablet took apart fine but the yellow ribbon attached to the motherboard wouldn't come off or come apart from the broken glass.Anyone have any ideas or has anyone replaced the screen on same tablet? Could not find a video on this tablet or any info. Reading first comment i also detached the wires to the motherboard and need to sodder them back on. D'oh. Thinking maybe my parents should just get him a new one and get a protective case...

I watched your video on how to replace the digitizer screen I've got it replaced but now when I power up my device it always comes up to a white screen and a few on anomalies on it but I can still hear the notifications of updates and others. Pops out for notification. so can you help me?
