So, to all those people out there that think a treasure is just a ruse, I ask this. Why would anyone take time to bury a ship, for No reason? The swamp was built to bury that ship, why? Why not just burn it? They buried it to hide hide it. Like I said about the stakes with two different years, it’s simple when you think about a ship, many a ship was refurbished after pirates attacked, and took the ship. So there could be wood with varying dates! Or it could be, they staked the stone road, buried it, then a 100 years later they went back and had to stake it again. My point, you don’t spend years and years burying a treasure, if it’s a couple small chests! And I’m betting there was chests all over that island. But the ship is exciting, because they should be able to find what the name was! But here’s another tid bit of information. If that was just a cargo ship, you’d never find wood railings that are smooth, that means it was an expensive ship, for Kings or Queens, not a cargo ship! Even a military ship wouldn’t be sanded and polished! If it was the Nights Templar, it may have had the best wood, because they fought for King’s & Queen’s, or the Pope! I’m betting the Nights Templar’s treasures are what’s there, and some of them turned to piracy, and I want to know if it was a port, or a warf! Then I want to find the tunnels too the treasure! Doesn’t this change history also? Just like having maps of Antarctica, how is there’s detailed maps, when it’s buried in ice? Makes you really question how the maps were so detailed!???????

The swamp was harbor when the British military use the island as a logging facility.
The British navy and merchant marine were dependent on large, tall, mature trees for repairing and building ships. Logging and agriculture land had had substantially reduced these in Britain. Logging operations were set up in the North America and cargo ships were sent in, much of the ballast rocks were unloaded, used to pave the North American logging port facilities and the ships were filled up with the harvested wood and naval stores to go back to Britain.
Since these were virgin forrest, some of the trees harvested were 200 to 300 years old. Such a tree taken in the mid 1600s would have wood in it from the 1400 and 1300s.
This explains both the road and the age of some of the wood found.
Oxen were used to haul the trees to the stockpile and then to the ships.

I’ve been following the story of Oak Island since I saw a documentary about it when I was kid in the 1980’s. I think it is great that History Channel has turned this into a show, not only for the sake of documentation, but it puts more money into the treasure hunting operation on the island. I’d like to see as many more seasons as it takes to either find the treasure or determine once and for all that there is nothing to find.

The fact that there's no vegetation there and it hasn't changed in appearance in all the time that they've been taking pictures and no plants or anything have grown there that means that there has to be something underneath that stone circle. There isn't any other place on the island that we have seen the amount and scale of construction that exists in the swamp. That tells me that it has more than a small part to play in this story.

I told a few adventurous cousins and my Aunt and many Family members were barraged with never ending string of constant questions, it was Summer time so it was pretty much a constant, But not once, do I ever recall anyone ever saying a word about the swamp, certainly not questioning it and why it is there, Oak Island was big news in our little World. *Since they're getting close, I'll go ahead and say it. "I don't think that smell is natural". Sailor from that era were no strangers AT ALL, to "tar" and "pitch". Not only would they probably want to waterproof (making recovery easier) the outside of any wood container (even one as large as a ship), but, you'd want to keep the sea from coming in and washing everything out with the tides or even a storm. A DAM. A coconut, stone, and pitch DAM. When, in a past episode, they said the mud "smelled" I thought, usually bogs smell when there was something dead or dying in that place, but if they're recovered bolts/spikes there, my guess is "pitch". The mud itself holds a clue, get it tested on the molecular level. If the swamp is "artificial" it may help get around "some" (hopefully not all) environmental constraints. ((it can also give context clues as to what degree of engineering, tooling, and planning they were using))*

Could be part of a failed landfill aswell. Back in the age of wooden sailing ships old decommissioned ships and boats were often used when people wanted gain land from the sea. The boats or ships were simply sunk close to land and filled with rocks or dirt. That way you got a foundation you could build on. Recently during a large scale building work in Stockholm, Sweden seveal old ships and boats were found that had been used in this way several hundred years ago when the city was expanded. In this case, since it's a swamp now, it might have been such a project that was started but never finished for one reason or another. Or the project was finished but failed at some point in time, either from beeing abandoned giving nature time to reclaim it, or because it was never done properly in the first place.

IF the Ark had been there, these guys would have drilled an 8" hole right through the most valuable antiquity since Tut's Tomb!
At this point three things are inconceivable: (1) that they'll ever find anything that could be considered buried treasure, (2) that, if they did find it, it could be worth more than the money they've spent looking for it, and (3) that they'll ever stop drilling holes.

This piece of wood was made from a tree. Historical experts all agree, the wood for the cross used during the crucifixion of Christ was also harvested from a tree. Have we finally found proof the Templars fled to Oak Island with the remains of the original cross? Experts say, quit asking us these dumb questions. Who gave you our phone number?

Next up, an Ancient Alien expert that has proof that Osiris was on Oak Island thousands of years before the Knights Templar.

Could the Knights Templar been trying to build a spaceship out of polished wood with the help of big foot and ancient aliens? Theorists say... yes.

I've know about the Oak Island Treasure for along time but never really followed it. A post by my aunt on Facebook last week about the families construction business which I knew existed but not much beyond that. It prompted me to do some research of the family history of my father's side. That construction business was Chappell Ltd, founded by my great great grandfather and his brothers including William Chappell. My great grandfather Claude was also part of the excavation of the Chappell pit in 1932... Not every day you discover your family is part of one of the longest treasure hunts in history 🤷‍♀️ the more you know...

This is my favorite series. I just love this show. It's so very interesting and I appreciate the hard work to uncover the real history. Not the fake stuff we were taught in school. Thanks

They're having a hard time keeping a straight face on camera like the bigfoot hunters.

I've said it before and ill say it again. The narrator is the best part of this show. I'm guessing their viewership is down, they never used to show discoveries.

Come on, people! This show was filmed last Summer ...if they had actually found ANY treasure, it would have already made front page news. They couldn't have kept it from leaking out because there are too many people involved. So...NO BIG FIND this season.
