SamQDF is working on a 3 wheel drive setup. His design I believe is targeted for extreme off road. 3 wheel drive on mine would defeat some of the original design goals of a short chain, easy rear frame removal ( 3 bolts, no cables, no chains to mess with) and unnecessary additional weight. Check out the 2011 catrike and west orange trial videos to see the FWD trike on the road. Thanks!
@FireDropTechnologies Hello, thanks for the comments. The whole purpose of the front wheel drive was not to have a chain to the rear wheel, that defeats the purpose of a short and compact driveline. I don't do electric, so I have no interest in e-assist.
So your going to use sliding yoke Universal joint front axle links shafts? and independent Suspention? Driving the axles off of a chain? I would have had the electric hubs in frount and peddal drive to the rear.
This prototype (steel and aluminum) featured in the nine part build had hand drawn parts and design. I have nothing to interface a CAD to anyway. I did use a CAD program to create parts for a online machine shop for parts in quantity for the next gen FWD trike. Carbon is a whole nother ballgame.
Part one? More like part four. Shouldn't you have explained what you're going to build, shown us the drawings, explained the virtues of FWD over rear wheel drive. I can see you're an experienced fabricator, but you left the whole introduction comletely out of the presentation,
Now this is what I call meticulous build and assembly! Good job, mate!
you sir are a legend, I hope to one day have this sort of build quality on my own trike
Great build! I can't wait for the next few parts. Very nice machining and design.

it is a awesome wonderfull trike is Ferrari of the trikes, are you an artist mecanic
If you put a fixie wheel in the back and kept a constant gear ratio you could have three wheel drive.
Very nice,I love the design,Thank you for posting, software or hand drawn ?Carbon in the future ?to reduce some of the weight, though its not bad.

love the show man I can build one but that fwd suspension do you sell these parts
HoLa me gusta mucho lo que hiciste, me gustaría hacer lo mismo tienes planos que me los compartas ?
I was thinking about this last night I think I can build it lighter!
Give it a shot, be creative and build something instead of sitting on the couch.
Telsa said build it in your mind first and take it to form.
What do you call that aluminum (?) stand/support for your parts assembly? And where do you get it? Thanks!
could u put a baring inside of the wheels and put pedals on
like the forks i mean

Drawings?? We don't need no stinkin drawings!
