Nicolas Cage died by fire, the little girl by water, how can we use that?
Patrick Boyda I read it in her voice too...why would you do this?!
Because I'm chaos
Under-appreciated comment
Im so happy I found this comment. Kind of want to watch that movie now.
How is this comment not pinned?
My Uncle was the first assistant director on The Wicker Man, and while he does not defend the movies quality he said that this was the most fun he ever had on a film set. Nick Cage is Just super bizarre but hilarious (probably unintentionally) and everyone in the cast and crew had an amazing time XD So while I think the movie definitely does not hold up against the amazing original ( Christopher Lee as Summerisle is pure perfection) I’m still proud and glad that he got to enjoy making something. And that he witnessed the making of a great meme with the bees XD
I love this. Yes. Please thank your uncle for his service
Chelsea Rebecca I did not know you had a UA-cam channel
Chelsea Rebecca hey i subbed to u i had no idea u had a yt channel pls upload
From what I know Nic Cage is an absolute weirdo but knows he's a weirdo.
So I don’t know if it’s been said already but just in case the ongoing thing with the little girl flashbacks is resolved if not in a very awful way. At the end when they reveal Nick Cage is the sacrifice to the Wicker Man some of the women take their masks off to show their faces. Three of them are shown briefly but it’s a child and two women. The child and one of the women are the ones from the car and the other is the female officer that visited him when he was in his officer sweats. It’s brief, it’s hard to notice, and it still doesn’t answer anything
Thats facts
I think it's basically saying that everything from the car accident onwards was a ploy to get him emotionally vulnerable enough to make him want to come to the island when he got told by his ex that a girl was missing, because it played off his feelings about the girl he couldn't save. I think. Why go to those lengths just to get bloody Nic Cage, I've no idea.
OOOHHHHHHH
aim-to-misbehave That’s not a bad theory but my only thing is how did they get out of that burning car since it pretty much turned into a fireball. It still leaves a rather big question unanswered
Brooke of Hufflepuff House Yeah, I know. Showing them is confirmation that the flashbacks had a reason for being there (that they're linked to the main plot, that his trauma or whatever is relevant) but it honestly creates more questions than it answers. How did they escape? How did they know that they would come across him on that road, and that he'd pull over to give the doll back? Was the truck driver in on it as well? Like, what the hell?
Cage: *punches woman in the face*
Also Cage: Don't be frightened!
I am deceased.
Was scrolling through 4 year old comments saw this and your comment /account gave me a solid laugh, Thanks for that
Nicolas Cage this entire movie seems like his favorite song on set was Already Dead.
The Christopher Lee tangent made me so happy cuz I love learning about him so thank you guys for providing that fun “minute”
Mia Sumner man was it a real palette cleanser
Watching Christopher Lee skipping along in a dress for the procession was something else
I always feel bad because I mix him up with Frank Langella a lot
Fun fact, when Cushing died Lee had his Dracula ring buried with Cushing because Cushing used his own money to have it made.
Christopher Lee also spoke 9 languages...so there’s that.
What the fuck
Dead Meat I’d love to say this was me exaggerating but we both know I’m not because it’s, you know, Christopher Lee.
Also, when Peter Jackson told him on the set of Return of the King to imagine what being stabbed in the back felt like, he said he didn’t have to imagine; it had happened to him during the war. 😳😳
Seriously?! That’s amazing
Millian Macalintal OG I knew that lol 🙂 didn’t know he had been trained as an opera singer, but that is cool
You cant forget about Sherba, the werewolf bitch. A truly timeless classic.
Oh yeah forgot the wickerman was a horror movie. Kinda like how the room is a drama.
The Room is an Oscar worthy movie compared to Wickerman...wait a mintue...did I just... Oh well
@@Cutthecamerasdeadass1899 The Room has a 26% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Wicker Man(2006) has a 15%, so you are not wrong...
Every clip they showed of Nic Cage had me laughing out loud!
I personally think the main problem with “The Bees and Leg Breaking Scene,” is that it sorta ruins the originals terror. In the Original the fact that the locals treat him with care is terrifying. Just torturing him is boring and not in the slightest bit scary.
I love how I'm not alone here these days
Christopher Lee, what an amazing man. May he rest in peace.
"Bruce Lee’s on my head but don’t call me a Lee head
Now please excuse me, I gots to get my tree fed"
Oh man, Chelsea really smacked me outta nowhere with that Andy Milonakis theme song nostalgia 😂
It's time to rock it, got bologna in my left pocket
I hate when movies use the old “there’s actually no bullets in the gun” twist. To anyone who has even a marginal amount of experience with firearms, the weight difference would be immediately noticeable.
It’s understandable I think in situations where it’s just an average person with no knowledge of it.
I think the only way you’d notice that kind of weight change is if you are super familiar with that gun or type of gun. And no way you can tell if there is one or two bullets in a rifle or something. No way.
The way he looks at her awww
殺自 I know right he is I love with her alot
I watch these podcasts 20% for movies and 80% because they are #relationshipgoals 💜💜💜
@DeadMeat I can not tell you how much I enjoy these movie podcasts! They are incredibly entertaining and what really makes them wonderful is the passion for the genre that is so clearly evident in you two! Please please please keep it up!
Wish I could listen to you both talk about the original, I'm sure James will love it. Such a strange and powerful film. Glad Chelsea mentioned how good the music was, Willow's Song is a gorgeous track.
I just want to do a whole episode about the original, I'm in LOVE with it. James is even taken aback by this new love affair. I'm making him watch it with me asap!
hey dead meat do Halloween next kill count
Gooden Home halloween is gonna start in August
@@megansimplystitch no because it’s in the directors cut
@@TarantulaJonez well it is an amazing movie. James hopefully has learnt how to deal.
I love Billy the puppet’s headband and necklace in the background 😂😂
"When asked what roles from his career he would most like to revisit, Cage responded, "I would like to hook up with one of the great Japanese filmmakers, like the master that made Ringu, and I would like to take The Wicker Man to Japan, except this time he's a ghost."
Whenever Nicholas Cage is an a Bad Film he’s Always the Best Part Cause He Entertains me throughout he’s one of My Favorite Actors
17:51 "Flying one of those like water boats, the kind that lands in water" made me laugh so hard. James hatred of this movie made him forget the word 'airplane' and it cracks me up.
I love the Nic Cage impressions 😂 they remind me of Simon Helberg on ‘The Big Bang Theory’ when he runs D&D for the night
Was this uploaded a year ago? Yes. Have I already seen it over 100 times? Yes. Will I watch it again? One word. Bees.
I love James' genuine anger and hatred towards this movie!
It’s a respectable Opinion
i love the original and it is way better than the 2006 remake.
NOT THE BEES
ARGHGGHGHGHGHGHG
Subject Delta OH GOD NOT THE BEEEES!!! AHHHHH!
Logan Rogers THEY'RE IN MY EYES
ANYTHING BUT THE BEEEEEES
Before even finishing the video, it earns my like because of Chelsea's Nic Cage impression alone! 10/10
Edit: Even more deserving of the thumbs up, because of the Christopher Lee biography and the twisted love triangle between James, Chelsea and James Franco. "He looks like he smells." "I think he's handsome." XD
I could listen to hear talk like him for hours!
Leelee Sobieski's most acclaimed work was as Joan of Arc, but her mainstream roles were in Deep Impact, Here on Earth, Never Been Kissed. She also did a few thrillers including one that I think is way underrated- *Joy Ride* with Steve Zahn and Paul Walker. I can't remember if you've ever mentioned it or not, but that might be one to consider for one of your reviews/podcast, I just love Ted Levine voicing Rusty Nail.
ɴ̅I̅ ̅ ̅ s̅ı̅Ͻ̅ She was also the main character in the Glass House.
Nicolas Cage objected to the criticism that the film was unintentionally funny, saying that he and Neil LaBute knowingly made the picture an absurdist black comedy and that it should have been seen and judged as such.
From IMDB:
Yes Nicolas, you say so.
I'm pretty sure Tommy Wiseau later said the same thing about The Room.
sure, jan
"I dont remember that one" You mean EVERY episode of Spongebob EVER????? James????
I’m digging this set up for the podcasts! I seriously love this series. I never understood why people like horror, but you’ve opened my eyes to a whole new world 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Pretty sure the “Everything’s ok” tape going missing is a misguided metaphor for things not being okay. But like wtf. Why????? This movie mannn...
The shirt with the badge on it is (at least down here) called class B uniforms
Elliot Rodger nice name lmao
Joe Sanchez thx, it was a gift from my parents.
Yoooooo I did Winters Tale my senior year of college and could not watch the "exit pursued by bear" scene without thinking of this movie and dying of laughter
It's hilarious how much James hates this movie. I've felt the same way when a movie is just so badly made and nonsensical that it overwhelms those "so bad its good" moments.
I still think it’s so bad it’s good I respect his opinion.
Nothing to do with the movie, but they say couples in love mirror each other and i found a few times, specifically at 1:09:00, you mirror each other's body language and it's super cute!!! Y'all are adorable and actually entertaining to watch! Not always the case lol. Much love from Texas!!
NOT THE BEES AAAAAAAHHHHHHH MY EYES UUUUUUUUWWWWWWAAAAAA
I thought this was a horror channel, why are you guys reviewing a comedy?
Thats a thing those sweaters are typically worn during training at the academy. We also have t-shirts with our police agency on it. They are also sometimes worn to more informal event outside in the south.
I love this episode of the Christopher Lee podcast
The wicker man ride at Alton towers is so good. I have never watched either of the movies
James, Chelsea … I watched the Cinema Sins, everything wrong with Wicker Man (remake) and at the end when Nicholas Cage was being tortured with his broken legs and the bees… they show the Mom and the little girl in the car from the beginning .. are in the crowd! I don’t know if this is going to be more confusing but Cinema Sins hints that those two were part of the whole “lure him to the island” plot. I don’t know if this will confuse things more, but wanted to point this out! Love you guys, Dead Meat rocks!!!!
I legit thought that Billy was supposed to be dressed up as someone going to a Wicker Man burning but then saw it was 4th of July colors whoops. Hearing this review makes me wanna go watch the OG Wicker Man and go hunt down Sir Christopher Lee's singing and heavy metal album. He was just so cool and badass.
Great review as always, even if it melted your brains a little bit. I hope Chelsea's recovery from her surgery is going well and happy early 4th of July to you all!
If there isn't a kill count for how many people died laughing at that bee meme then there is no god
Chelsea’s always dropping little gems! That spongebob reference was spot on 👌🏾
I worked retail up until recently: 50s are very common. Also your ATM just isnt stocked with them, thats why you cant withdraw them.
"The performances are amazing."
"That must be nice."
Oof review. xD
The original Wicker Man is one of my favorite films of all time. It's a truly strange unique movie. There's just nothing like it ever. And what Chelsea said the performances are EXCELLENT. So fucking good.
I loved Christopher Lee so much. Thank you for doing him a solid.
When they had the movie on Netflix the torture scene was definitely in it??? That's so weird
Man I can't get over how great the whole "I got bees on my head" song goes over for James. His expression is perfect
Do a kill count of tucker and dale vs evil
Email them
Thank you two so much for sitting through this dumpster fire of a movie for us!! I know it was tough, but you did it. Such sacrifice. It is truly appreciated.
my favorite is the one at alton towers
Always look forward to the podcasts :)
I don't remember where I read or heard this but; the woman and girl in the car were from the island and if you read on her licence she has a plant name (like most of the women on the island; Willow, Rose, Beech) and they were sent to mess with his head and put him in a vulnerable/suggestable psychological state. Their bodies were disposed of by the lady cop who visits his house (who is also from the island and named after a plant) She is also who made sure he got the letter from her people. And until he learns Rowan was his daughter it was the guilt of causing the crash, and not saving the girl in the car that motivated him to go try to save Rowan.
Learning geometry with James and Chelsea 😂😂
@2:30 Thats Beeshit
Thank you for the Andy Milanokis reference. Pretty much any time shampoo, bees, peas and Bruce Lee come up, I can't help but break into that song.
As someone who grew up in the Puget Sound area, I like to think the commune was based on Shaw Island located in the San Juans accessible only by ferry, where many amenities are run by a religious commune. Nuns operate the docks.
i found this channel couple days ago i am so glad i did. keep up with the videos james
Hey I remember just seeing this channel pop up on my recommended section and I saw it in 2017 and have been watching ever since I love this channel too, this channel has made my liking for horror movies increase because it doesn't scare me when you make the kill counts. So I wanted to say thank you for making me like horror movies even more and not be that scared of them
Lee played Sherlock and Myrcroft Holmes at different times.
A kill count on the Collector would be amazing!
Doesn't the second have the club scene? Amazing. I want them to do it so bad. 😂😂
Congratulations 🎉 it's here
they love each other so much u can tell
I also did a Wicker Man double feature with the original and the remake, the former was really good and thought provoking, the remake was frustrating, especially after just watching the original, and I already knew what sparce meme moments it had so it wasn't even a "so bad it's good" experience
I already listened to the audio form of the podcast but, I needed to come watch it again just to see James' face the whole time.
Thanks for letting me know what a badass Christopher Lee was. I went to listen to some of his symphonic metal. It goes hard for sure.
Oh, and the same thing happened to me when I watched it on Netflix. It ended without the bee-Cage scene and I was so confused and looked up the other ending on UA-cam.
I love these podcast, i love to watch while i play video games
I love your podcasts, it always makes my week until the kill count to end it off. Love you guys and your work!
quality content. i love it.
both cameras at the same time :D
Dead Meat makes all my fridays good days
I’d love a review of Grindhouse (2007) that needs some recognition
I would so love for them to discuss the original Wickerman!
It seems your wish has come true lol
“Papyrus is the thinking man’s comic sans”
-Good Bad or Bad Bad
Their CONTINUOUS impression of his voice is my favorite thing about all this!
Your sacrifice was not in vain, Chelsea!!! I watched the original movie after listening to this podcast. Thanks for that 💕
I love you James and Chelsea
Jason Ritter is also the voice of Dipper in Gravity Falls. While not a horror show, I feel like it's a funny weird cartoon you guys would enjoy.
Loved your detour! I never would have known those facts about Christopher Lee if I hadn’t heard that from you guys! Thanks !
These podcasts make for such background noise :) nothing like running around in a game and listening to two people who at least seem like they know what they're talking about :) keep em coming and I'm super looking forward to the reveal on Friday haha
@DeadMeat have you seen the Honest Trailer for The Purge Trilogy?
this isnt twitter
gyayblin I wanted to say "This isn't the place to find your self worth." But I didn't...
Jeff B He pretty much said you should try this on his twitter because there is a slim chance that he will see this comment...but no you need to be a bad boy
The truck was the best character in the movie.
Christopher Lee died 4 times, but told Death to come back later. Death apologized each time, and when Lee was ready, he called Death on his personal number to tell him to be picked up.
Nearly at 1million James keep it up
The pure rage towards this film is hilarious lol
Christopher Lee also voiced King Herod in "The Last Unicorn", another epic villain. 🖤🖤
This is so wholesome, rock on JAJ
James is so salty. I love it.
You guys should check out the VHS movies. 1 and 2 were pretty good. VHS Viral was garbage
Marz I think VHS 2 was better than VHS, but both movies are good....VHS 3 looked like it was put together by 10th graders who were under the influence.
Aaron Eckhart's break-out role was in a movie ("In the Company of Men") directed by the same guy (Neil Labute) which is actually a really good movie and as close to horror as a non-horror movie can be (definitely worth watching!). Both Cage and Eckhart have cringey roles...but the difference is that Eckhart is *intententionally* cringey.
Love that movie. They should cover it as a horror
I love the golden chainsaw plaque behind james. I want one really bad now 😂
I would love to sit down and chill and talk about horror movies with James and Chelsea
I know you guys probably won't, at least soon (understandably), but it'd be so cool now to have you guys react to all of the original.

The wakeup/wakeup jump scare is how my night terrors happen ahhhhhhh
*Happy Independence Day from England!*
Paused this to go watch the original Wicker Man, phenomenal movie, wow.
I have been watching dead meat since the first video it’s crazy how his Chanel has grown
She is so pretty
Shanelle Delgado like a little pixie. They are a super cute couple
Love your videos keep up the good work🤘🏼
I seriously have to watch this now
