Lvl 2: 1 point in UMD for scrolls, exotic weapon prof for other weapon of choice or power attack for great axes, hideous laughter.
Lvl 3: heighten spell metamagic, unbreakable heart
Lvl 4: CHA up, heroism or glitterdust
Lvl 5: greater spell focus enchantment, blur
Lvl 6: mirror image
Lvl 7: outflank, combat trick- combat reflexes any lvl 1 spell, good hope and haste

Weapons: gravesinger greataxe, metamagic rods quick slots, grandmaster rod, signet of house vesperillo, old grimoire, can also use triceratops.

I tried it as a mercenary and it's not as good as skald. I'll probably use this as a main character because I really want to abuse the best jokes mythic ability. Even Early game it's DC is so high enemies are falling down so reliably.
I added in a Cross-blooded sorcerer dip at lvl 7 for Fey & Undead bloodlines (& a bonus feat). Haven’t quite gotten to Lost Chapel yet, but I’m looking forward to using Hideous Laughter on all those ghouls now with an extra +2 DC
@@markmahler6446 it's probably going to be insane. Even without dips the DC is really good. Can't imagine what cross blooded shinaigans will do to it!
@@gregtuff4020It’s better now thanks to the latest patch’s Mythic Inspiration ability which doubles the stat bonuses. 12 on every party member or 24 on whoever gets the ring. Extremely useful for DC casters or Death’s Consonant and Charisma stacking for AC bonuses/Mark of Justice. Shame is doesn’t affect Wisdom too for domain abilities.

I was Archeologist with human blabla everything for the skillpoints and also Duellist to weaponize the focus on my intelligence. Was going for a Skillmonkeybuild.

This is my favorite mythic path.
It's definitely one of the paths with most unique events!
everything i've seen tends to recommend against going skald for your first build but seeing you riding that dragon absolutely sold me on it! wish me luck
Skald is actually one of the strongest classes, and provides very unique, stacking boosts to all party member's attacks that you can't reallly get anywhere else!
Even a stacking source of +AC and higher critical damage, an extremely rare property.
Court Poet is a bit harder as the bonuses are more fitting for a party with many spellcasters, while Skald is more for melee allies, or spellcasters that just buff + attack.

Awesome build
Interesting build, quite versatile, well, for anything you want. With some redaction it can be used for companions and with multiclassing can be used on any difficulty. But don't forget to adapt your party to actually use charisma and intelligence bonuses from your song - use at least 3 spellcasters and cha based tank, or else it will be better to play normal skald.
that's very magic heavy, your melee fighters need to be on point to protect them

Court poet would also increase the AC for any party members that are sword saint, duelist, and/or student of war.

I was wondering what you thought about Ray specialized Magus builds? They seem very good. Fire three rays then hit the target a bunch. Even better if you can get Sense Vitals as well. And that is just with the base Magus class. Combine it with demon for tons of extra damage, I think?
Great guide and fun to play, but quick question. I followed your guide to the letter. I'm only level 17 and don't have access to the DLC. My main only has 22 AC. I obviously haven't finished act 5 yet (I'm trying to get my team geared up to fight Mephistopholes) and then pick up the DLC, but was wondering if you have any tips on gear I can use as substitutes?

I’m bouncing back and forth between making my MC a court poet and woljif an arcane trickster, or my MC arcane trickster, Woljif sword saint and seelah court poet. Which of the two do you think would work out better as an azata?

Spell Pen is not picked due to how useful Favorable Magic is for beating enemy SR.
Very early you'll have access to Grease & Glitterdust which bypass SR by default.
Later you have Favorable Magic + good gear bonuses.
Hmm, considering you lose the rage powers, is it recommended having a second skald with them as a merc?

Speaking of buffing... is it possible to make a build where ALL of your buffs lasts for an entire day with Greater Enduring Spells and Legend? Even those that are based on rounds/level?

I have a few question unrelated to the build. Is the mystic theurge the best buffer in the game due to its massive amount of spell slots and learnable spells? Brown fur is obviously better quality wise but for comprehensive buffs would MT be good? This is with the understanding it would be behind sosiel in spell progression
it is good one - Bro has a wonderfull build around it - you will be better then sosiel. But Brown Fur/Skald gives you uniq/more powerfull buffs you will not be able to get in any other way. While theurge gives you.. common abilities. It can be very powerfull DD, due to lots of spells

Thematically it's Lich, gameplay wise both merged Angel and Lich!
this build made me psyched to play, but i noticed the stats per level are pretty different from mine. are you playing on a higher difficulty? i chose normal 😅
That's just because when you are respeccing your character, the game takes in account gear boosts and such, so the stats appear higher.
But the build is made to function from level 1!
Great build! I consider court poet to be mandatory (build kestoglyr as court poet) when doing a Lich run. U can easily hit 50 DC Lich spells with the triumphant advance ring. For the build itself, I do recommend the boots of arcane persistence if u want to take zippy magic. The quicken effect only takes 2 casts instead of 4 so u can spam hellfire rays with impunity
Never tried Kestoglyr as one, but sounds fun for a Lich run!

Arcane Bomber I find rather useless for losing out on 4 SCHOOLS for crappy Bombs that you can't even enhance with Alchemist Abilities.
At least it's actually good for a Legend Alchemist!
How does this one scale in Unfair? And if I wanted a more martial party, would a base Skald work well here?
Prebuff + Attack parties focused on AoO chaining are way easier on Unfair than spellcasters for CC or damage, I'm afraid.
@@cRPGBro Now playing with a Vivisectionist, ye my Unfair playthrough is a lot smoother than when I tried to go for a CC focused caster (insta-gibbed the Gorgoyle boss in act 2). I do wonder if the way for a caster is to go full-on caster party, with Seelah and or pets as tanks, while the rest are either blaster-casters or CC-focused with support from a Court Poet...

I always thought facial hair was a given for half-elves, at least the ones in D&D usually have some form of it, probably to differentiate than from full blooded ones.

Seelah & Daeran both enjoy higher CHA for Smites & Spells, Daeran can get Fire spells too through Red Salamander.
Sosiel is still in becaus he is a cleric.
While I prefer Camellia over Ember, Ember will benefit way more from a Court Poet, so you can use her instead as your Hexer.
I still go with a normal Skald merc because they're just too good for melee allies/pets.
Of course you might also consider using Nenio for instant death spells, it's just that honestly, buff + melee + attack is way easier than spell damage/DC.
@@cRPGBro honestly, I usually run heavy mercs, I keep, Lann, and then switch to Arushalae for my ranged, and Seelah is great, I just am usually working on a different party concept and I don't have room, but in this one, I'd probably get an oracle, a sylvan sorcerer, and probably one other spell caster, those pluses to INT and CHA are just too good to pass up.

I've tried to love this game so many times lol but the buffing just destroys my interest, having to download a mod just to try and make buffing quicker. I think I've heard they say it like that on paper but does that mean they have to follow through and make this game painful as well? haha, I don't know.
