Tool assisted speedruns or TAS means they use software and frame by frame have it press the right keys at the right time to create a perfect run. It's not easy to make so I'm not trying to take anything from the creators, it sounds like you think this is a guy recording his game play though and it's not that! You should check out actual speedrunners of the game though, they are very nearly as good as this but do it themselves with a controller! They are incredible.

I love this format of gameplay ... for me, it's VASTLY more enjoyable to watch than "speedruns" or "Tol-Assisted" runs that are governed exclusively by time. It's my favourite elements of speed runs combined with everything that's missing from them. More plz 😁

I never saw those blue mushroom shops on the maps before. I know this is a TAS, but I believe these 'secrets' are not part of the game as it is on the console in question.
Imo the anchor is the most useless power up in the game. Since you get it by collecting all of the coins in a few levels, and it can only be used on the airships to prevent them from flying around. However, collecting every single coin in the level has a higher difficulty than completing the airship, so if you manage to do it, there's a good chance you're skilled enough to beat the airship in one go anyway.

The toughest level for me and even more than king koopa himself was the airship level in world 8.
it was 8-1 for me...that was a massive spike in difficulty when I first got there as a kid with only a FEW lives left and no save function...
