I’m a 48 yr old Woman who loves to still play video games especially Mario and Dk, I have the 1st Mario for the nes, and super Mario 2 and 3 and world and all stars and the new super Mario bros for the Wii. I also have all 3 DK county’s and am playing 3 right now . 😊. My 51 year old brother has sooo many games and video games systems he could have his own video game store and his best friend has even more . My hubby same age as me, also loves to play Mario games . Wish I had what it takes to make this game, thanks for the upload. Looks super fun !😀
A lot of old memories came surging back with this. The smell of air conditioning, playing in the sprinkler, collecting Pokémon cards, Little Caesars and Hungry Howies, Cartoon Network, going to Blockbuster and Kahunaville, watching The Simpsons with dad. Great video
This was absolutely amazing. Felt like it was actually made by Nintendo with but a players custom twists. Seriously incredible, played 4 worlds with my girlfriend in 1 sitting lol. We had a blast. Huge props to who made this. They did an amazing job! 🎉🔥👌 thanks for sharing so I could try this out!!
wow this is amazing!! i really got to get back into super mario maker i bought the second one but i havent played it much, didnt even realize you could make games like this :)
I would play this. This is a normal game. No crazy weirdness, no trolling out the ying yang... Just a normal game. I like how early levels teach mechanics and are demonstrations, just like actual released games. This is perfect.👍👍👍👍👍
Moments like these are the reason why Nintendo will forever be the king of kings of the gaming world Mario and his friends are going to survive everything like they always do
After seeing tons of hot garbage, it's refreshing and reasuring to see that there's still talent out there. Good level design and overall fun factor, nice job.
I think this kind of content is what the mm2 devs intended players to make. Feels clean and forgiving. Though in some places the level design felt unlike Nintendo, but I think that's just a side effect of using Mario maker 😅
This is fantastic. Even an absolute beginner can play this and have fun and so can experienced players. I personally don't think Nintendo ever expected their core demographic to make levels even remotely similar to this though lol. A 6 or 7 year old is just gonna fill the screen with a bunch of things 99% of the time. Mario Maker is great and so replayable because there are many types of levels and difficulty anywhere from pointlessly easy to insanely hard. And it's the players option to play them or not. I'm pretty sure they knew exactly that would happen. Every huge fan of the franchise eventually moves to harder and harder challenges. Just like any other replayable game. Otherwise it gets boring and people lost interest and move on. Just look what Tetris evolved into over the years. Modern tetris is a completely different game and that's a good thing. People have an option to play classic tetris or more challenging modes that involve a ton more skill sets. In my opinion, Nintendo is fine with everything they see as not breaking the game or the integrity or Mario. At least most of the time. lol. And it was also a way to compete with rom hacks
@@Jay-Kaizo Yeah it's great overall. It's fun to see a glimpse of what an inviting piece of level design ends up being. I'm interested because I'm a dev and trying to study good design for a platformer 🙂
Oh cool. I've dabbled in game dev here and there. It's fun, but design is pretty tough. At least for me. I'm not that creative lol. I think a good mix of a challenge and an easy to play and understand game is the winning combo. I have been playing around in Godot a little bit recently for fun. It's a lot less overwhelming for an amature like me @@Cameo221 😅
I completed this world in the early hours of the morning, and here are my thoughts: I am glad I played through it, and there are a handful of fantastic levels in there that offer some unique ideas. My main criticism is that a lot of the levels play too safe for there own good. I went full speed through the majority of the levels, and I rarely ever felt like I was being challenged. The levels have a habit of being too open and harmless, and there isn't enough instances where I had to stop and plan on how to get pass a tricky section. I finished the world with less than 10 deaths and 99 lives, and I didn't even use half of the mushroom houses. The constant 1-ups and power-ups felt like I was going through the world with a warm blanket, and it made the world lack any spice in the challenge department as a result of that. I would say this world is perfect for someone who is casual when it comes to playing Mario, and is looking for an easy-sailing experience. The world is still fun for people who are more skilled experienced Mario players, since there are some really cool ideas that feel like a breath of fresh air. But I definitely think the challange is missing, and the world tends to feel anti-climatic at times because of that.
Ran across this video on Christmas morning. World 6 is very fitting especially this year. we just got done with a blizzard. This is the first white Christmas we have had in years.
This should have been called Mario Collects Taxes. Overall very well done. My only real gripe is that there are waaaay too many coins and power ups. It makes this feel more like somebodys collection of levels that they made over time rather than a full on title.
I think the concept is cool, but it felt like there were too many easy coins and one ups for the difficulty level. The trollishly hard levels are annoying, but it felt like there was not possible way to lose this one given the number of easy one ups compared to the difficulty level of the stages
Super Mario Bros 5 on Super Mario Maker 2 looks absolutely brilliant and fantastic good job Mikey Mike if Nintendo officially made and released Super Mario Bros 5 for the Nintendo switch now that will be very cool and awesome. ❤😁❤
I've always felt that Super Mario World was SMB4 (in Japan it was also called by both names), and since SMW2 was about Yoshi carrying baby Mario around, it doesn't count as SMB5. But, imo, this DOES! I love the levels, the switching/homaging SMB old and new material (NES, Game Boy, SNES, and Wii, I think), and most of all, the original tricks and traps you have to manuver through to get through the stages and castles. Again, I gladly call this Super Mario Bros. 5, and the only suggestion to maybe add a new, original powerup. Please make a Super Mario Bros. 6!
@Beardbear There's this level I recently uploaded that I think you'll like. It's called Multi-Path. It has four different routes for you to choose from. A door, two different pipes, or the main hall. The code for it is K3P-2X3-TYF.
Very cool. I watched until world 2. My only thing is that there are far too many coins. You have over 50 lives after the first world. I'll assume it gets insanely difficult. 😊😊😊
this is funny (away from the style changes [in another words, the why some levels are in SMB style, others are in SMB3 style and some are in SMW style]) and so glad Nintendo can't even demand this 'cuz this is in its own game
Man, I can't wait for Yoshi to spit 3 fireballs like the traditional Super Mario World whenever he ate a red turtle shell. ....Aaaaand, he just spit it out like a regular green shell. Betrayal. BE-TRAYAL. Betrayed me.
Feels a lot like SMBX and i mean that in a good way, it's so cool when each level is in a different style, and it does feel like something Nintendo would make.
I played and finished this super world earlier today, and I would highly recommend this one as the levels and well designed and have very creative puzzle gimmicks that are simple to figure out.
I wish they made smb5. Like I know 3D really took over after the n64 released. Gba only got rereleases of the previous titles that they remastered. I wish we got smb5+ with gba. Like Mario maker is awesome but I’d really love to see what a legit smb5 would look like.
Super Mario Bros. 5 (and possibly 6 and 7) could have rivalled the likes of the Sonic Advance trilogy (though the Super Mario Advance series were fire) had they also been made in the style (and substance because of it) if Super Mario All-Stars (SNES).
@@kieranstark7213 Ironically enough I think today it's normal to 'wish for' a time when an official SMB5 would have been released. However, I really don't see in me any issues in perceiving this creation in SMM2 labelled as "SMB5" as being official. The reasoning is simple: It was all made using official assets made by Nintendo. I.E. Anyone at Nintendo could have done the same but it just happens that it was made by a dedicated fan (pretty much better than just a normal Salary Man in Japan working at Nintendo trying to come up with some SMB levels using SMM2) who understands the structure of typical, official Nintendo-made Super Mario Bros levels. To me, it's SMB5, it's just that it happens to be inside SMM2. Then again, it's just me. Some people would only consider such a SMB5 game official if it was directly made and sold by Nintendo with an actual retail box. To me though it doesn't matter, what matters is the game itself. It's there, it exists; it's SMB5.
Not a fan of the whole switching between different styles of Mario games in a single playthrough lol... I'm sure it's more entertaining for the creator and all, but I'm not about that life, personally. Cool levels though!
