    How many times did she raise any point about Washington’s responsibility into how we got into this geopolitical mess?

Either lost unalived but others come back shell shocked and damaged to pass on the terror to their wives and children. When will the wars stop, most likely never as we are chimps. It is in fact a world governed by international law, based on national sovereignty as opposed to the 'rules based' international order that is a euphemism for American Hegemony that Russia, China, et. al. seek. So much projection here. Much of what she says applies equally to the US and the West. Politicians in the US are mostly focused on their own money and power. See the effect of the war criminal Bibi Netanyahu on congress with the standing ovations. The fact that autocrats turn up their noses at Western values is because we don't respect our own. The rule of law is not respected in the US and the lack of respect for Palestinian lives by the US is horrendous. The US has invaded multiple countries and has interfered with lots of elections around the world. The autocrats see how little we abide by our own values and don't think they need to abide by them either. Aaron, you needed to push back a lot more on her views.

    • @KapnScumdreg
      @KapnScumdreg Місяць тому +2

      Absolutely. As soon as she started talking about states that 1. Invade and occupy other populations 2. Think they can act with impunity 3. Have contempt for international conventions, organisations and human rights, I kept thinking 'when is Aaron going to mention Israel?'.
      Equally plenty of other western backed states (e.g. Saudi Arabia and it's war in Yemen) also fit this description, yet don't make it onto her list, clearly because she splits states into Western allies (good) and western opponents (bad).
      I'm really glad Novara are having these people on, but really need to challenge them and make them justify their double standards.

Probably not aware to what kind of audience, but there's not much to lose, especially as it's a softball interview. She took platform to reiterate official policy and narrative, and if she sways one person in this kind of hostile territory, good. People that are on her side probably track all these engagements, collect comments, even work for these companies like yt. They estimate if there's potential for any kind of true resistance and if there is just manufacture new distraction culture war type of thing. Yes I'm sure the modern Tzar of Russia feels robbed of his measly little KGB job. I had low expectations but Anne managed to shatter them. That's impressive. The capacity of limitless self delusion is what will be death of the American empire. Anne is a prime example of this. I have no doubt that she is indeed high on her own supply and truly believes the absurd things she says.

I live in a part of the world directly affected by Russian aggression and feel that her insights are right on. I’m shocked by the number of disparaging comments. Looks to me like Russian bots are hard at work which can only mean that Anne’s truth-telling has gotten under someone’s skin. Please continue with these types of interviews.

    Prof Jeffrey Sachs gave a very honest and first hand account recently of the 90s and 2000s recently for example. And he exactly explained the differences between the paths followed by Poland and the one by Russia. He was an economy advisor during the transition- a very accurate insight and not the account given here at all.

    The media taught me to distrust the media. Modern communication allowed me to pick up the phone in the 1970s and call my relatives on the other side of the world, ask them if what I heard on 'the news' was accurate and hear a vastly different account of what transpired on their street. The media is not a disinterested player. It has political and economic agendas, can be bought and sold by wealthy individuals and advance their interests. I learned to cast a wide net when it comes to 'the news.'

This lady had no qualms talking to Russian/Iranian/Chinese corruption and lack of “values” but when mildly asked about Israel suddenly the world is “complex “ and stuttering & Aaron allows her to “end on a good note!” WTF after 2 minutes of actually putting her so called values on a test not against Russia but her allies .
