I bought two of these great rifles within six months of another, a 1975 all but new condition in September 2023, and a 1967 used, but still nice in March the following year, 2024. Triggers are about the same, around 5lb. The newer 581 off the bench will give my brother's Winchester 52-C a serious run with the same ammo! These are fantastic rifles! Thanks for the video.
Found a 581 on GB this morning, ordered it immediately and its already on the way. Glad I found your video, I knew I was gonna have to do something to the trigger and this sure seems like the way to go! Thanks!!
Thanks for the video. My 1968 581 (walnut stock) has a 3 lbs. 7 oz trigger pull so I am happy with that. I put a vintage Weaver scope on it and the accuracy is good. Hopefully, you will do more videos on this rifle.

Why not just use a lighter trigger spring and not drill?
