Yes, polish lines are limited to the individual surface and don't cross over the facet junctions. Unfortunately, the curved striae on the pink sapphire can't really be fully compared to the straight lines in the blue because we're only seeing the pavilion of the pink. The curved lines shown look like a visual aberration. At best, without a chain-of-custody, mine-to-market document trail and reports, I think technology is able to bypass the distinctions or will be very soon.
