REPAIR OF NECK OF THE CRANKSHAFT

In some cases, the restoration of the crankshaft journal is possible only with the use of welding. Up to 0.5 cm of metal is welded onto the neck. Further, with the help of grinding, the excess material is removed, and the neck is brought to the repair size.

For commnents spoken this is impossible… All we know that the 90 % ordinary car crankshafts are cast…only high performance (racing) crankshafts are forged and quenched.Let someone tell me only one reason why is impossible to weld the crank rod ??

I disagree.These days there is a stick welding rod name of UTP that consist 30% of chrome inside it.Very hard metal,thing this TIG wire is same material.Welding anything with that wire moving hardness of welding place up to 60 Rockwells that is more than enough like on brand new crankshafts….As we know that 90 % of cranks are cast,tell me one rrason why this will not work ??
