Resin platter
I used Barnes Clariti resin to make this coaster and tray set. I used white Artist Loft acrylic paint and black and white alcohol inks from Pinata. I edged the coasters and tray with my Krylon 18K gold pen.

I really like that the gold spread a wee bit; it looks more natural. Veining in rock varies, so this turned out great! Got a cheapie and very small geode tray mold that I want to play with while our daughter and son-in-law are visiting…bought two sets of handles last night while hubby and I were at Lowe’s. You are an inspiration! Can’t wait to play!!

I love the gold veins the second go around, they seemed to have "dropped" into the flow coat and blended a little bit. They are slightly more curved and not so straight. It absolutely looks so natural!!!

Hi Julie - I think the gold lines being whispy makes it look more authentic like marble - very pretty
First off, love the puppies at the beginning, and your deck is amazing. Second, I LOVE THAT YOU USED YOUR OWN MOLD. third, I do love the marbeling, I thought in the beginning that there was too many lines for a natural look. But after it all cured, it looked amazing. Great job.

Maybe next time you could try using your skewer to put the gold in. I personally would use less gold. But then I haven't made one cause I have no work space to do so. I do enjoy watching you between the resin and the paint.

You may be getting requests from others to rent out your back deck and yard for wedding receptions. Such a beautiful site. Hope you include some video once it is decorated for the wedding before the guests arrive. I wonder if the birds will interact with the guest.

Brilliant set! I love it.... with natural veining, you’ll get a variety of thicknesses, and the finished product looks great. I think your first effort was just too straight, so it looked more like a stained glass effect. The second try was much better; bravo for going again, very brave to let everyone see your effort, not knowing if it would succeed or fail. Someone else had a good description that veins often look more like lightning, and I think you achieved it in the end.
If you drag the lines across to the other sections with continuous lines it will look like one marble slab when put together. Love your videos!❤️❤️😊
The deck looks amazing now its finished, bet you are soo pleased how it looks now.
They came out soo well, I like the veining the 2nd way you did it, especially how it softened and spread when the top coat dried, another great job.

I love the marble effect, that worked out really nice. I think adding the resin to the Gold was a great idea. I also think a skewer or a large sewing needle (like the ones used for sewing up wool) would be better with no straight lines. I also liked the domed effect to each piece, I think by adding the gold as a top layer like you did was a great accident because you were able to let the gold move around and look more natural. I think you saved it well for your first attempt congratulations. ❤ Love your site.😂
