I disagree about this song being too extra. This is a band that definitely breaks the chain and has one of the best drummers in the scene. It could just be me, but if you're definitely a fan of drumming, oceans ate alaska is never too extra. Chris turner is a legend.
Absolutely agree with you. They have had such a different and unique sound since the very beginning with into the deep and Taming Lions then Lost Isles came out and they climbed to the top of my top bands lists. Lol their stuff is different. It’s extraordinary. But, above all. As musicians they are some of the most talented individuals in music, period.
I think the ending of the song is perfect. It’s the last song of the album, and it’s a really nice little instrumental to finish it off. It just feels like a proper outro
@@TrueShotOfficial Yeah, if you go listen to the intro to the entire album that outro bit makes a whole lot more sense. It pairs with the intro as well as a few other similar bits throughout the album and really adds to the entire experience.
Hey there it is haha! Today was my last day at my crappy job, so I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and watch this instead of working lol. Thanks a lot for doing the reaction!
This track is the last on the album and I think that last minimal section into the final riff and breakdown serves to end the album and in that context it comes across better 😁
Haha Adam in this video. I knew he would love the technicality of these guys. They have some simpler songs like Covert and more flat out crazy ones like Blood Brothers
Their drummer Chris Turner is in another band called I Am Abomination. He’s an absolute beast and I recommend you guys check out some of their work. Especially Heir To The Throne.
Y’all should definitely check out the new band of James Harrison (old OAA vocalist) called LIVEALIE. Dropped a single that was really cool. His older stuff in OAA was dope too.
I can see where it would seem a little extra if you don't have a large understanding and feel for their style. I would recommend just listening to both albums in their entirety and you'll see how they are one of the only bands that can literally do whatever they want and make it sound like it belongs. Also Chris Turner is the only drummer I've ever seen that can make absolute chaos look like a gentle stroll in the park
The last third of the song is some of the most complex and attention grabbing music I've ever heard. It puts my heart in my throat every time. Literally SO fkn good.
Hey guys! Just a tip to make you grow! You have to make ppl understand with your thumbnail + title that you are a band reacting to a band. Like we have to know that you are a band and we need to know WHAT band you are reacting to before we click on your thumbnail. Otherwise we wont click... bcuz right now I only know that you are a band reacting to some band and not what band it is that you are reacting to. Make it like this "Metalband reacts to LORNA SHORE - Immortal" And put LORNA SHORA well visable in the thumbnail. Sorry for my eng btw it's my 3rd language
Check out Ocean ate Alaska - Hansha next.

yea thats a terrible take honestly, the end of this song is incredible and the rhythm is still 4/4 lol
I think the ending of the song is perfect. It’s the last song of the album, and it’s a really nice little instrumental to finish it off. It just feels like a proper outro
Ahhh that makes some sense! Context is certainly needed
IMO best breakdown since Domination by Pantera. Noone expects that shit to come out.
@@TrueShotOfficial Yeah, if you go listen to the intro to the entire album that outro bit makes a whole lot more sense. It pairs with the intro as well as a few other similar bits throughout the album and really adds to the entire experience.
The drummer Chris Turner is the best/most technical drummer in the world. You should check some OAA Chris Turner drum playthroughs
He also plays in the band I Am Abomination that I feel Adam would very much enjoy as well
Yes, keep in mind the videographer is on a boat while in a hurricane while filming...But still badass watching Chris nonetheless!!
The way Adam gets hyped gets my mood in the clouds lmao
Luis aguilar I get pumped uppppppp!!!!
Hey there it is haha! Today was my last day at my crappy job, so I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and watch this instead of working lol. Thanks a lot for doing the reaction!
Crappy jobs are the worst. Don’t settle until you find something you enjoy! Hope you like the vid!
@@TrueShotOfficial Yeah definitely! I'm hoping to get something else soon. Thanks for the advice!
I would have chosen the exact same track! Respect
This track is the last on the album and I think that last minimal section into the final riff and breakdown serves to end the album and in that context it comes across better 😁
Yes that context makes sense
Ay shout out bruh salute you for reacting to this gem 🥁
Another one of my favorite bands! Hell yeah! Can't wait to see more reactions. You gotta do Vultures and Sharks, Clocks and Taming Lions
Hell yeah! Oceans Ate Alaska was the band that got me into metalcore!
Adam hadn’t heard this song before! It’s a fun one!
@@TrueShotOfficial haha you'll enjoy this one! There's something unexpected in here you'll see 😎
Love these guys, I can’t wait for some more stuff from them. It feels like it’s been forever now
It’s been a while!
Their drummer is an absolute machine 🙌🏻

Hell yeah bro's!!! Finally!! The most underrated band in the metal scene smh!!!
Hope you enjoy the reaction!
Wonders how they are gonna end but wasn’t expecting a jazz breakdown
React to Chris Turners drum playthrough of this song. Mind blowing
Very nice request and reaction, i know the song very very well. Masterpiece. The drummer is just otherwordly, i love his style. BRUSHES BRUVS!
The ending was absolutely for me.
Please react to more oceans ate alaska! 😁
I went to watch two of the openers for these guys without being the biggest fans of these themselves but man they put on one hell of a show
The instrument called Kato, japanese instrument
HANSHA PLEASE. And Chris Turner’s drum play through of it. Incredible!
Haha Adam in this video. I knew he would love the technicality of these guys. They have some simpler songs like Covert and more flat out crazy ones like Blood Brothers
Can't wait to see your reaction to this song! The vocals, technicality, the sound the breakdown, everything! 🤘
😁😁
Their drummer Chris Turner is in another band called I Am Abomination. He’s an absolute beast and I recommend you guys check out some of their work. Especially Heir To The Throne.
Oh he’s in that band? Had no idea!
TrueShot Official He at least records the drums for them. I know he did on their latest record.
Connor Beck yeah he isn’t the OG drummer for IAA... but he did do that new album!
Awesome reaction my dudes. Chris Turner is a fucking drum demon.
Yall stay safe
He’s insane!
Loved this reaction! You guys are always a joy to watch. Reaction to Vultures & Sharks by Oceand Ate Alaska is a must.
Thanks for watching! 😁
Haha he didn't like that last breakdown bc he couldn't follow it 😂
Hansha now!!
That instrument is either a koto or a shamisen
The whole album is a masterpiece, Adam you need to check it out!
guitars are so blend there is no heavyness in them at all
You all are trippin this song is amazing. Technically sound.
We said we liked it?
Y’all should definitely check out the new band of James Harrison (old OAA vocalist) called LIVEALIE. Dropped a single that was really cool. His older stuff in OAA was dope too.
It's your host killer keeemsttaaaaaaaaar
Adam looks like another UA-camr kinda, uberhaxornova. And it makes it a bit funnier for me
Do a drum playthrough video!!! Dude is a monster
please do Vultures and Sharks next by these guys
I love this band. I liked James better, but the other dude didn't bother me. I still jammed them!
It's a mathcore 😁. Maybe you should try react to old ocean with old vocal he is a beast.
It’s progressive metalcore. Mathcore is pretty different from this
@@viciousoz4188 it has a odd time signature which is "math" is known for And also blend of prog just like you said so you are half right about that. 👍
@@farhanamri714 theres no weird time signature its all in 4/4 with polyrythms here and there and the occasional metric modulation
Correct me if im wrong but doesnt Chris Turner (the drummer) do most of their production as well?
I can see where it would seem a little extra if you don't have a large understanding and feel for their style. You gotta do hansha next keep killing it my dudes
I'd recommend Deadweight by these guys next
The last third of the song is some of the most complex and attention grabbing music I've ever heard. It puts my heart in my throat every time. Literally SO fkn good.
I think there is a new oceans album on the way
Hopefully!
Please do their song Hansha too. 🔥
Check out BMTH new song, I'm not a fan of it but I know you guys will like it
It’s on the list!!
@@TrueShotOfficial I know you guys will like it, but to me it's so generic af lol
Can’t wait to hear it!
Nicky Slam how is it generic lmao, at this point they are a genre of their own
React to one of Chris Turners drum videos from band!!
Within Destruction- no way out pretty please...
I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with your feelings on that last part; i personally love it. great reaction though, guys!
We were just told that it is the last track on the record, so that context makes sense!
