Nothing worse than starting a game for the first time and being told Don’t open or spend anything - um’ then what do you even do? You need to get through the chapters, level and unlock toons. I wouldn’t be ‘disciplined’ with resources until you’ve stopped having fun and start working to min max your heroes and account. Great advice on ‘tank, damage dealer, healer.’ That’s always been key in hero style games. Great vid, I doubt I’ll get to end game I’m free to play and will quit when it starts feeling like a job.
Awesome video Charlie! thanks a lot I've started playing 2 months ago, Asteroth, Qing Mao, Arachne, Artemis and Thea as my main team, team lvl 100, Asteroth and Qing Mao Orange and the rest Violet+3, f2p and it got me hooked, thanks to your videos too! Most of the time i buy the soul stone, skin stones, etc during events instead of the violet/orange equipments which i grind mostly in campains. The key words here are time, patience and regularity even tho farming the Orange and Red equipments will be quite a long grind as well, at the same time skin stones, runes, coins and the other ressurces are stockpillinhg for later! 😄
since this game feels like a job and since i'm not a youtuber i really have no time to chat about the game, i try to complete everything as fast as possible and then i'm done for the day. sometimes i come home 5pm and sleep 9pm.. there is more in life then hero wars.
Thanks for the info, Charlie. I have been in a Guild for over a year, and we have gone from Bronze League to Silver League and then battled in the Gold League to be 3, 2 and then last month we got the number one slot. Currently 2nd as of today but top 6 in the Gold League get lots of bennies. Again, thanks for the pointers. After a couple of years, you can still pick up pointers.
Another point I should make is that many players tend to ignore their titan teams, which is a mistake in Guild Wars and Clash of Worlds, as well as Tournament of the Elements- you want to have as strong a titan team as you possibly can. I have built mine up enough without having any element totems to be able to beat a lot of teams with element totems, just by upgrading artifacts and skins.
Good video, what you should also do, at all levels, is plan ahead. The next week of events are usually known. For example with the piggy bank active along with emerald waterfalls you would be very tempted to spend emeralds today, triple dipping with Ascension to Asgard. But tomorrow, you will be quadruple dipping with A Portal Anomaly thrown into the mix. Buying emeralds would be today if you haven't yet since the 5x will not be active tomorrow.
Great advice, especially keep an eye on the budget, understanding return on investment is not difficult but when it come to purchasing fun, it's how much for how long are you enjoying the subscription being the only metric, with an immeasurable, emotional result.
I also often play in manual. For instans. Magic team: LARS, HEIDI, HELIOS. I wait until all three are ready for their ultimate, Then I activate Lars, he rounds up the enemy team in a nice little bundle. Then I release Helios and Heidis ultimate at the same time, And they throw in their damage dealing weapons in the middle of the enemies team. And BOOM everyone is dead! :D
Thanks for suggestions and details...I am Dokinos from Justice League...been playing for about 3 years...small investment put me in a comfort zone, but still need, and will always need, MORE power..Need more Eternal Seeds...but yes, this game can line and hook you into spending..be care, be safe, have fun.
I'd like to suggest to experiment in guild battles or training combats. That may give you ideas or clues of your team or how to combine your heroes and check synergies
Thanks for sharing. When I did join a group, It was a Japanese one and there was no communicattion. I was on my own until the group died otut and found another group. Team Earth. They helped a lot and yeah they are looking for long term players since people don't stay around long enough. Come join it, we're a fun relaxed bunch.
Very good overview :-) Its always fight betweem number of informations and the lenght. More info, longer video (my usual problem, doing things very detailistic...). For example manual control vs auto control. Q as first letter, W as second letter if you have two totems. Hiting space to hide the tab. What is important, if you hit ESC and pause the game, you could still use 1-5+Q+W buttons to activate skills. In right order, of course. You never will be so quick as auto, so sometimes auto will play better then you manualy only because mili-seconds play the difference, and sometimes is combat so messy or you are tired, so you cant watch/control in real time. And game doesnt support manual fights...very short time to finisch combat (i think just only Tournament of elements has unlimited time to fight? but its very annoying vs Asgard OSH... especialy for me bugged dancing Galahad.... happened me in previous fight, stopped game 4xtimes to check, if Galahad is facing right way (if bad direction, his Iron skies doesnt clear spheres), he wasnt, so start fight again and when launched Iron skies finaly, was to late, nightmares ate me, again :-( ). And if you use in combat more time then is reserved, combat is skipped and finisched automaticaly (but not tested it yet to much). On the other side, activating artefact weapons buffs is crucial to do something big. So manualy you could combine artefacts buffs to do much different result (just rough example without armor/magic penetration you could do 10% of dmg (or any like dmg reduction), but buffed with penetration and same skill it could be more then +100% (or even much higher crazy numbers)...). But yes, if you are controling heroes manualy, you know what you are doing and why...learning about synergy. Next i realize you could use keyboard not only touching, you could holt it. So skill will start when is avaible. If not forgoting something, its everything what goes on my mind to manual vs auto control..... I think Charlie did so many videos, where is hidden so many knowledges. Maybe i could suggest one idea...for example i am starting doing my quests looking into seasons/quests. There are different quests, but mostly specific. Like upgrade tank skill 10x or level up 2x magic attack glyph. So if you are saving resources then is better invest once then two times ;-) And that idea: video how i am doing my daily quests...from beginning to end? (so i do this (check the seasons quests), then open heroes, click all the quest here and then opening island after island....). Same for grand arena, dungeon....(do you beleive, i find out, that Divinations cards are for every day more then after half an year of gameplay? ;-) such small details very improves your gameplay....) So here is my dungeon way: doing quests, taking +5 more divinations cards reward from guild prestige quest, open dungeon, take all divination cards and do regulary 260 titanites... and gaining daily 18(summoning spheres :-) ) So small videos from beginning to end, how to do daily quests(best order), dungeon(divination cards, choosing which team to use), tournament of elements (raid tricks), arena+grand arena (swaping heroes groups 1-2-3 GA),adventures (managing portal charges, gathering group)..... it could be maybe enought funny, you discover something, what you dont know after so many years of playing :-P So some small videos about one specific matter from beginning to end (complete, the tricks, just skipped repeating clicking). and as always, sorry for my english.... lehčí by to bylo psát v češtině :-)
Spending as little as possible, until there is an offer is exactly what I do. And not leveling up until I have all the soul stones, etc. And concentrating on one hero first.
the only mistake i made is i play games to have fun.. that means play it by myself and not do any copy paste/research. 1st year i promoted heroes every day (all are at least purple rank after almost 2 years)
I have been playing for just over a year. I am not a big spender just got my main server team up to VIP8 and all the rest are VIP5. My question would be...don't you want to have at least 15 top heroes evened out so you can take advantage of the daily expeditions? I keep saving up the absolutes artifacts like you said and have over 2000 each and spend them only on big events, and that is because I can do all those expeditions. Right now I have only 4 heroes that are red and was concentrating on getting the other 11 to red. I prefer the undead with Corvus, Morrigan, Celeste, K'arkh and either Phobos or Lara Croft as the last Hero with Vex as the pet. The reason why is that it stops almost all Arena and Grand Arena fights with Yasmine and Dante. Yet my best damage team against the old guild boss was Mushy, Yasmine, Maya, Cornelius and Orion. I would do 6mil dmg just by then and they were only orange characters. But I am still having a problem with new guild boss. I already have skin stones maxed out on my top team but I am wondering if you mean ascension skills also. The heroes I chose don't have any immediate extra benefits.
LONGTIME viewer, rarely comment. Charlie, this was one of your best. Also, I live in Saint Charles dude. We could totally be Hero Wars friends IRL. Lol. Said the "stalker." For real man, I'd buy you a beer if I saw you at a bar. As long players know, every team has a counter, everyone can be beat. At the level I am (about 2 years in), my current team that is maybe 700k beats almost everything I fight up to 900k, even a million. Some of what Charlie says in this video, applies directly. Synergy is the huge deal, and leveling a Tank/DD/Healer is a MASSIVE base. My strongest 3 are Mushy, Dante, and Thea. 4th is Mojo, who I LOVE from day1, but TODAY, years later, that should be Gus. Strongest Magic Dealer by far. I got Iris and Amira late, they're barely in my 25-Osh team, they're not the OP super-hero yet. I got Kayla on almost day1, so she has been a big part of my journey, still top10, still team2. So anyway, here is A meta-team. Not THE meta-team. Just one that punches WAY above it's own weight: Mushy/Oliver, Arachne/Mara, Mojo/Merlin, Polaris/Khorus, Thea/Axel. Mara is the best pet, but my Oliver is maxed, so for now it's Oliver, one day Mara. War flag is tank gain, red armor, red magic attack, orange magic defense (this is a Mushy team). Further... All pets are violet+, that's important, all pets on this team are in top 6 ranked pets, mostly level max, some are violet+1, etc. I'm not advanced, but MANAGING RESOURCES, I grow in the correct direction. Further... Mushy, Mojo, and Thea, are Ascension 4, and on their way to maxed in most things (SKIN STONES ARE LONGEST), glyphs take forever, Ascension takes forever. The rest of it's easy, by comparison. Arachne is at her first Ascension ability, if she ever gets it. Polaris is Ascension III, next after Thea/Mojo. Additionally... my Dante is my 2nd strongest character, and this team could use him with any pet (Cain probably) over Arachne. However, Arachne are maybe 10k apart in power, and Arachne/Mara makes Arachne's stun last forever, and it's a control/magic team; Arachne is more magic, Dante is physical; Polaris INCREASES magic/control substantially, and DECREASES physical; so why handicap Dante for 10k more power in the number? Charlie (or anyone): you covered this subject before, but I missed the actual answer: Does it matter if, when farming, you click the Raidx10, or just the RaidMax? Is the percentage of #1 item affected there? Thanks for the help and videos.
The only thing I hate is your live stream , and that is the time 1AM and 2AM at the moment . Hard to get up at that time of the day, I still do, keep up the good work HWS. ...7...
Campaign vs Tower, what level tower goes with levels of heros and same with the tower. Also how about titan leveling? Good Video, appreciate this, wish I had seen it a couple of months ago when I first started!!
I am coming up to my 4th year and I am always doing the wrong thing. Iit is a game of choice and iit will reflect on everything elsle. I do keep making the wrong one often, so many choices, it is hard to pick the right one. I just know that it is not wise to grow to 130 in a short space of time, as it can be overwhelming with so much to do
This game appeals to my natural hoarding tendencies.. forcing myself to cash in for good event is tbe trouble Choosing which heroes to level first is tricky but there is no single best answer so long as you dont try to level too many or too few at once
I have been doing like the video recommended since the beginning of my experience, I figured out on my own to level up a tank, a damage dealer, and a healer, simply because I have years of experience on other games and this is basically how it goes. My favourites are Galahad, Yasmine, and Thea, but I also have been working on building up Dante and some other alternate heroes that I can use to replace the aforementioned ones, should I need to. New heroes get upgraded last, unless it’s one that I have been waiting to get. I also have worked steadily on upgrading my titans, because a lot of people ignore their titan teams, which is a mistake in Guild Wars and Clash of Heroes- you want your titan teams to be really strong. Mine is strong enough where I can beat a lot of titan teams with element totems in tournament of elements.
and I still say they should create an auto mode where you can click on or off the hero you want to be on auto. I prefer Celeste to always be in healing mode until Yasmine or Dante try to use their attacks
how does the raid work? is it .99 cents per raid, a day, a week, a month, a year, etc...? i'm a free player but if a dollar could save me alot of time. i'd do it. thanks
VIP1 or higher has unlimited raids on any non hero level in the campaign... the hero levels are still 3 per day but you can spend emeralds to reset that at higher VIP levels Best thing you can do is get any VIP, buy silver season one off, Valkyries favour etc and VIP lasts forever
VIP 1 raid allows you to complete a campaign mission with a single click. Not having to fight the mission saves some time. Having VIP 5 raid allows you to complete a mission 10 times and it guarantees that you will receive at least one of each item available on that campaign mission. You can obtain VIP 5 raid ability for free during the WinterFest event. In my opinion, that Raid Ticket is worth more than the totem fragment for a F2P player.
Yeah, I’m only into this game for a year, and I refuse to buy bundles, because to me it’s cheating to buy advantages- I limit myself to buying emeralds only. I have levelled up my heroes pretty much through daily grinding. Most of my more useful heroes are all level 130 now, but I still have so far to go. But, my real point is, the reason why they offer so many deals is because this IS a pay-to-win game, let’s not kid ourselves about that.
There are hardly any one team all 30 players are active. All the teams are eventually dies. This game makes your PC HOT and consumes lots of electric energy and our own time. For the sack of 'green' earth, please make it fast or quickly finish the each task or fight. There is no point of watching such a slow fight. Another concern is that there is NO WAY one can build a team that can win. Two identical teams can end in different result if fight multiple times.
Right! Remove all animation and simply reduce the game to a single "Play" button in the middle of the screen. When you hit it, the AI will do all the steps you're supposed to do every day and save the stats and outcomes in a text file, which you'll then enjoy looking at. 😀 Then you'll finally get free of this time- and energy-consuming game for the day and can switch to more important things.
Skin stone system is ridiculous. A player can get 75 per day from each type for free and several hundred thousands are needed just for 1 hero. It is very bad greedy design.
Well, it's indeed annoyingly slow, but not that bad because you have the stone chests and there are special events giving you the stones and the chests. Also, if you look at this philosophically, if everything is fast and you get to the end of development, what you'll do next? I guess, if you only get kicks from competing, this makes sense. For me, on the other hand, a large part of the enjoyment is an expectation of how I'll improve this or that and working toward this goal. Sort of like watching a movie or like somebody said in comments above, "satisfying my hoarding instincts". 😀
Thanks Charly! Most important advice to newbies: Have fun, do not take it too serioysly, it's only a game! And ofc, be patient!
Nothing worse than starting a game for the first time and being told Don’t open or spend anything - um’ then what do you even do? You need to get through the chapters, level and unlock toons. what 2 heroes work with kayla well?
good very 👍
where is the top 10 heroes to level up section as you said? I couldn't find it... and is it for 2025?
and I still say they should create an auto mode where you can click on or off the hero you want to be on auto. I prefer Celeste to always be in healing mode until Yasmine or Dante try to use their attacks
I have not had any luck catching the live streams this week
good very
and an auto mode for outland... just to accept the 3 chest you get takes about 15 clicks of a mouse
how does the raid work? is it .99 cents per raid, a day, a week, a month, a year, etc...? i'm a free player but if a dollar could save me alot of time. i'd do it. thanks

The biggest mistake beginners make is chosing heroes that don't synergize.
HI
Yeah, I’m only into this game for a year, and I refuse to buy bundles, because to me it’s cheating to buy advantages- I limit myself to buying emeralds only. I have levelled up my heroes pretty much through daily grinding. Most of my more useful heroes are all level 130 now, but I still have so far to go. But, my real point is, the reason why they offer so many deals is because this IS a pay-to-win game, let’s not kid ourselves about that.
ok

Сейчас две игры!!! 1. СВО в Украине. 2. Уничтожение арабов и захват территорий. Везде платят, а здесь я плачу
