This clip proves that you are one of the best one at teaching. I've watched several youtubers and you and CG fast track are the best teachers ever. A great tone to grab attention and a perfect pace to follow along.
pretty much a masterclass in how to make a tutorial a ton of useful info, clearly presented also, proof that when the content is top notch there's no need for irritating background music :-) many thanks for sharing your knowledge
for a beginner such as myself I personally would go for the box modelling this seems to give a better end result I can see therefore making it a tad easier in the sculpt part
I have a human built from just a box , extruding mostly. But it's not allowing me to sculpt anything. Subdivision and Re mesh modifier on. Totally stuck. Ok I think I just figured it out. After done building character before sculpting i had to select all and convert to mesh.
Hey I love all of your blender videos!! I was wondering if you could help me by any chance, so I have tried to follow the donut tut many times and keep getting different issues I just cant fix, its very frustrating. Should I instead look for a different tut? How did you get started? :D ❤
Don't forget you can also make a base mesh by using the skin modifier, get a cube merge the verticies, extrude to the shapes you want and the skin modifier and scale the sections to match your references.
Hello again, could you tell me, why applying all transforms changes a metaball familie's shape and location? As I understand it, applying transforms is supposed to set the transforms like scale location and rotation as well as influence radius as the new default, but should not change it.
I'm not really sure how to explain it. Meta Ball objects just act differently then regular mesh objects. so when you apply the scale, it sort of "resets" the scale, instead of applying it where it is.
Thanks for this; I've been trying to get more serious about modeling lately, and struggling a lot with it.. I was trying to use method 2, but the meshes were too detailed and remeshing reliably fused legs together, and completely decimated the hands to stumps. I may use metaballs now that I know what those are. I think I'm gonna head on to your beginner sculpting tutorial, as I imagine it'll have more tips I could really use; now that I got a base mesh that I think is acceptable, I'm feeling lost again about how to proceed, since I never got this far before.
my question what if you made an object using a box then making it to At center then used E to make the bnody. i then tired to sculpt it but it takes all of the gi shapes when i am sculpting and not the surface
Sorry, I'm having trouble understanding you. Can you try to explain a bit more clearly? Then I can try to help you out. I don't know what you mean by: "then used E to make the bnody." "all of the gi shapes"
Muito obrigado!!! eu amo e aprendo muito vendo seus vídeos, voce poderia fazer mais vídeos modelando outros animais ou pessoas, por favor? voce é muito bom no que faz, parabéns!
Thanks for making this. New to Blender and got stuck between how to move from base mesh to sculpting. Will give the meatballs option a go. Does scale of the object affect things or is it only density of the mesh that matters?
Thanks for watching. Well, I guess that depends on that you mean by "Effect things", but If I understand you correctly, the scale doesn't make the mesh more dense, its just the density of the mesh.
@@RyanKingArt thanks for answer! you are soo cool. your example is inspiring! one more question. how old are you? :D i would like to have such skills by your age if that is possible;))
Amazing tutorial! Thank you much, you make it look easy sir! Just getting into sculpting as I am from the 3D printing world. I would have to say I personally liked the box modeling method. P.S. Was quick to smash the like and subscribe buttons! Thanks again kind sir
Yikes, I have never had that happen before. Hmm, I don't really know what is causing that. You could make a post about it on the Blender Stack Exchange, and hopefully someone could help you.
Hi, I had the same problem. I know I'm a year too late, but if anyone had that problem as well... it's because your mesh is not manifold, if you make it manifold, the remesh works fine :)
Subtitles are only auto-gen for Vietnamese?? Where's English subtitles? Sometimes what shortcut you use isn't spoken clear enough for me to understand, and the subtitles are of no help if I can't get basic CC
what a feedback bro are u crazy its ur own problem no listening and understanding my guy if u want to go to some.. Wow, thanks! I appreciate it. : )
@@RyanKingArt love metaball which I've never seen before and box one seems the easiest one.
Meatball for sure, I don't like simping but have to agree with initial commentar, even my stoner brain can follow along 🎉
I didn't know what Metaball was until now. Must give it a try. Thanks for this information.
Thanks for watching!
Good tip with the Remesh and Shift+R, haven't seen that before, makes a lot more sense than fiddling with the numbers.
Thanks! 👍
Thank u this tutorial is a huge lifesaver, especially for different types of animals
Hope you find it helpful!
Would've been cool if you also showed the "Skin" Modifier where you build things by drawing stick figures!
Oh yeah! That method works too.
Yeah I thought he would do that one although I dont really like that method.
@@RyanKingArta bit janky though and easy to accidentally stretch the mesh
Wow metaballs look way easier than skin modifier. Thank you!
Yeah. Thanks for watching!

Interesting to see the difference between Mirror and Symmetrize, they seem the same, but are not the same ! Thx
Yeah they are actually a bit different.

Awsome methods, all are necesarry, thanks for showing , i gonna apply them,

Yes that's another great way to make base meshes! 👍
The third method sounds good for beginners
Yeah, its easy and works well. Thanks! : )
This helps a lot, thank you for the great video.
Glad it helped! Thank you for supporting me on the UA-cam memberships!
The box is my favorite
Yeah, its a good method. Thanks for watching!
Definitely prefer box modelling it's more fun to me and more precise
Cool! 👍
Please also make a tutorial on rigging and your tutorials are amazing.
I'm not very good at rigging, but I know the basics. I will consider a tutorial on that. Thanks!
Thanks Ryan! I like the Meta Balls method. I think I can utilize this for creating my 3D Avatar!
Cool! 👍
RTX 3070 but the metaballs crashes blender even after installing latest graphics driver. Help.
Thanks for this tutorial!

@@RyanKingArt Thank you for your answer, I will experiment with it a bit more with that in mind.
@@RyanKingArt Hmm, it seems that it is only the scale that is reset and only when I do not scale in all directions equally.
Thank you very much.
