Undertale's box has a name most people don't know about, and there's a surprising amount of evidence it may actually be related to Sans!

if we’re going off the fanon that Sans knew the royal scientist well, then that means that this was probably a large experiment or something that took years to make. makes it even funnier that there’s a single glove.
It's very plausible he did, considering what he says during his battle.

It is actually canon that sans worked with alphys and possibly gaster, so it is completely plausible that he knew the royal scientists well. Also sans was apparently extremely helpful for alphys and can create spaces like this so it probably didn’t actually take years to make

interesting I always assumed that it was alphy's because of the dimentional boxes in the phone linking to the overworld boxes, it could be more evidence for scientist sans or alphys being the other person in entry number 17, if you consider file names to be canon, which they might actually be.

@@Rajclaw notice it has snow on it, the characters play it off as “he must be too lazy to clean it” but snow and ice DO melt here, notice the ice cube that comes from Snowdin town all the way to the core. A lot of people, myself included, are pretty sure in canon that every one of sans’s stations are one in the same with some reality junk making them basically all of those places at once.
Now that you mention it, the Box only appears in the Last Corridor in the Genocide Route. Sans puts it there as per RPG Boss rules of putting items and saving points together before a big fight. Truly, the only time Sans actually takes his job seriously.

I remember some lore bit about his sentry station all being linked to one place so he can easily teleport between them

You know it would also make sense as a box will spawn in the judgement hall on the geno route but no other routes, so it would be sans giving you a fair fight.
Sans doesn't want to make it a fair fight. His last attack is literally him doing nothing so you can never kill him.

Another thing: the box in Snowdin has a note explaining the box signed “a box lover,” while the one in waterfall has a note shitting on the box signed “a box hater.” If that’s not a Sans thing to do, idk what is lol

the word sans actually means “without” so it could also be “withoutbox” which i think is equally as funny
This is an example of how names being shared doesn’t mean they have a direct correlation, it just means that something about them is similar (also gasterblaster rhymes and sans loves anything punny so he may just know the name or it’s just an Easter egg for shits and giggles)

I have another theory: The reason Chara became sick and died was because they were the test subject of the DT extractor in the true lab, which is how alphys got determination in the first place. That would also explain why Chara didn't come back after dying.
