Just wanted to drop a note to say "THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO." I have been crocheting for 45+ yrs and knitting for 30+ yrs and your vids have inspired me to consider purchasing a wheel to spin my own yarn. Goodness knows I have spent enough money on yarn all these years. I don't know how to read patterns, I create everything via sight and measurements and jot down instructions in my own lingo. I LOVE difficult, challenging projects, they keep me on my toes and my interest peaked as I learned how to crochet and knit from my Grandmother, she had a very limited education (she was born in 1905). Her skills were off the charts, BEAUTIFUL, what a talented visionary she was. I am blessed to have many of her ornate, PREFECT creations, I cherish them. I LOVE your channel! Keep doing what makes you happy :)
The music you use is so relaxing. It just draws me in. I appreciate knowing how to change colors and just pull them up the side without cutting and weaving ends! Thank you.
I have just started this as my first knitting project with some extrafine marino I wasn't sure what to do with.. doing pretty well if I say so myself :) thanks to you I think I finally got it!
Your videos are always my favorite to watch. Not only are they informative, but they are beautifully filmed, edited and set to music. Thank you . I learned how to knit from scratch just watching your videos.
Thanks for this great pattern and video! It looks like a really great, versatile, relaxing, tv-style knit and I bet it would work beautifully as a stash-buster. I look forward to trying it!
Loving your videos. Can't wait until shops are open so I can get some yarn to give them a try. I also really want to learn how to knit continental as I've heard it quicker than English style. So many lovely patterns can't wait for the pandemic to be over
You can always shop online at Expression Fiber Arts for yarn 😉! The first time I touched their yarn was during a test knit and I fell in love! So, the first opportunity I had to purchase some yarn thereafter, I did. As a matter of fact, I currently have their yarn sitting in my lap as I'm working on a project with it. Chandi sends out emails with their sales and/or highlighted yarns. I've also received coupon codes after a purchase, for my next purchase, which I love! It shows up fairly quick too, and it's always fun to receive yarn mail, right!?! 😘 Heehee! I hope you're able to try out their yarn! Happy knitting and stay safe!
@@melaniesbuchanan1759 I've got some yarn from Chandi however I can't afford to always buy from them as postage adds an extra £20 to orders as I live in the UK.
@@lisamolyneux9435 I can understand that! And I totally didn't think about you living across the pond and dealing with that shipping. this is absolutely on trend and sophisticated thank you. Could you please teach us how to knit a simple lightweight cardi in lace weight silk like Malabrigo. Thanks so much once again.
Thank you love this pattern the colours are awesome. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial for a möbius knitted in the round as I do have some cotton yarn I’d like to knit with but also the lace weight woollen skeins I am itching to use but the cotton is more forgiving for ripping back while I’m experimenting 😊 I hope I’m not asking too much I love your tutorials & your yarn is delicious
I'm just about done with this shawl and love it! Question, before I bind off, though ... how do I bind off/finish the last couple rows to keep the same pretty trim pattern that's around the other edges? I dont want to mess it up right here at the end! and I love that little detail.
Hi Sarah, I'm not sure I understand your questions entirely. Which trim edge do you mean, the one with the yarn overs? The bind off edge will look differently depending on what kind of Bind Off you're using. If you're not sure about the look please google different bind off methods and choose the one that is to your liking. There are so many different ones available. Some are decorative, some are stretchy, and some are "invisible". I hope this helps. 💙
@@ExpressionFiberArts THANK YOU for the response! I just sent you a message through your website. I have a very short video to show you to explain my situation. Thanks for all you do!
Hi from Newfoundland Canada! I have recently started watching your videos and they are awesome and you're so cheery, so fun to watch. Your shawls are all amazing but I think I am making this one in particular for my step daughter who is getting married so it will be her wedding shawl. Do you have any videos on how to knit a cardigan?
Your projects are so gorgeous! Is it possible to zoom in just a tad more on your hands as they demonstrate your technique?Greatly appreciated.🤗 Have a lovely day!
Thanks for this splendid video. I started to knit this pattern yesterday and I'm not very satisfied with my work. As I knit, the "long" side of the triangle (where I put yarn over on the begin. of row and the end of the row) shapes like banana or a crescent. I try to pull the stich and the yarn more, but no effect. I wonder whether the other methods of increasing, explained in your other videos (using kfbf method, by increasing 3 st, or kfb method, by increasing 2 stiches) would do better, i.e. form a more loose edge? Thanks, wishing all the best...
Hi Dana, I'm sorry to hear that you're not happy with how the increases look in your project. I've looked through the pattern and the increase method you can use to sub the one indicated in the pattern is kfb. Unfortunately the kfbf will not work because that one increases too many stitches at once and will make the shape very different from what is intended in this pattern. I hope this makes sense. Have a lovely day!
I don't have a picture of it laid flat, but I do have a picture of it stretched out. you should be able to find it here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/muscadine.html.
Nice shawl 😍 I've seen a lot of different knitting styles, also within continental, but never seen anybody knit the way you do. Where did you learn that?
@@ExpressionFiberArts it's fun to see and try variations. I'm always curious, as I grew up with the 'classic continental style' in Denmark. And now live in Spain where they knit supporting the needle at the armpit, and many use Portuguese style as well... there's such a variety of styles 😍
Hi! I bought the pattern and the yarn. My question is about the changing colours part, is always first a row of knitting and then row number 1 and 2? Or is it just for the first time of introducing the colours?
After the initial row of knit stitches, you only repeat rows 1 and 2 thereafter. No need to repeat the extra row of knit stitches when changing colors.
Im so excited to try this! Do you think itd be doable with 450 yards or would you definitely recommend 800+? Thank You for your amazing tutorials and stunning yarn all because of you ive learned so much!
