Why do some people hate her? I was so satisfied when she embraced her power and turned against her family. They got what they deserved for what they did to her. If Klaus wouldn’t take drugs he would destroy the world as well

I think Luther treated her the most harshly. Diego was mean at times but didn't hate her. Allison was harsh in some scenes but evidently cared about her the most. I don't think I can recall Five and Klaus ever being mean or harsh to her. Ben made a remark about her not having powers but he was too young to be taken seriously that time.
In conclusion Luther treated her the worst among the siblings.

Vanya litteraly deserved to be angry at her family, for first not allowing her to be herself and learn to control her powers, for wiping out her memories to make her "normal", resulting in her being treated as an outcast, and then treating her like a monster because the consequences of their actions backfired on them

I think the implications they’ve tried to hunt at is there’s always sound like if there’s even a light breeze that has a sound he can harness that into energy it doesn’t have to be this big overture. Especially with Harlan talking about everything having it’s own sound beneath the sounds of the world. Viktor is incredibly powerful but I think he’s also very scared of that power and uses it sparingly.
s1 tore down the hargreeves mansion with probably just her telekinesis, s3 wave of energy just blow up the sparrows with little injury and no visible damage to the structure. I hope they brought back the violin to help her channel his sound attack her alias was literally called white violin.

Vanya is a interesting character because she seems to be easily one of the most powerful characters and didn't seem to have control over her powers at all which made her dangerous but she also got treated like crap for being "normal" afterwards I admire her for attacking her siblings killing pogo however is unforgivable

Almost everybody in the comment section seems to ignore that when Vanya first discovered her power the power took control of her, I don't think she was totally aware of what she was doing. I think the more powerful she becomes the more she loses control over what she's doing unless she learns eventually.

No. No pudimos ver más allá de eso, como la manipulación de la materia, de la gravedad, el control del clima, la absorción de la energía vital (con esto fácilmente vence a todos los sparrows en segundos) etc, estuvo muy nerfeado la verdad.

Blame Netflix and them cutting the budget for s3. The vfx in s3 sucks at times. But I wish they were more creative with his power, it’s almost limitless.
It was so ironic that the more the umbrella academy tried to help stop Viktor, the more they brought the end closer and closer. Think about it if they just left him alone, none of this would’ve happened. He probably would’ve calm down at the safe house if Alison left like asked, and then apologised and came to a mense🤣💀
I loved Vanya. She was so outcast by everyone. Considering she went through that, they deserved everything she did to them. She is literally the epitome of a comeback after being the black sheep

Pogo didn’t deserve it however, it is not shown in the show but in the comics he comforts her after she had a run to her room in tears. I see him as the father Reginald could have been if he was a good man.

The irony of how especially Diego, Luther and Allison treated him. Diego constantly belittled tf out of him believing he had no powers and kept him out of the family. Luther repeating the same thing his father did to him when he placed him in isolation on the moon, and now Allison chastising Viktor for keeping Harlan alive, when it wasn’t personal or intentional, let alone justifying everything she’s been through as a way for killing him.

If only Reginald Hargreeves educated Viktor more about Physics, he'll be more powerful. I doubt his powers is just limited with sound. I think he can control all kinds of waves. And with the Wave-Particle duality of matter, he may even be able to manipulate matter.

La materia ya es algo que el manipula, utiliza ondas sonoras para moldear los átomos de cualquier objeto, cambiando por completo su composición. One thing I’ll never understand is when the family put vanya in the box in the basement why didn’t Klaus immediately object? He knows first hand what it’s like to be forcefully confined inside a place just because of uncontrollable powers.
I mean I know klaus is mostly comedic relief in S1 but still I thought he could have spoken up… everyone else reaction was normal given their characters.

possibly unpopular opinion: vanya's actions are definitely understandable, and there are certain things she definitely didn't mean to do. her family and society traumatized the shit out of her, and she never learned to control her powers and emotions correctly because of her shitbag of a father. her outbursts are completely understandable when you take into consideration how long she's been bottling shit up and suppressing her feelings and her powers. and she never meant to seriously hurt anyone until she snapped at the end, and even then it makes sense because her siblings hurt her so badly, and her causing the apocalypse wasn't intentional because allison shot her and caused her energy to be misdirected. however it doesn't excuse her actions, and i definitely think she shouldn't have done what she did. trauma is a bitch though so i understand why.
tldr; trauma is a bitch and i understand why she did the things she did, unintentional or not, but i'm not excusing her actions because a lot of them were pretty horrible.
Yes! Some nuance. Viktor's trauma is an explanation. NOT an excuse. The siblings didn't "deserve" to be treated this way, and conversely, Viktor didn't "deserve" to be hurt in that way.
Speaking from someone who has this form of personal trauma, not to the extent of the show but still, I after many years of consideration come back to this single truth.
Just because you've had bad things happen to you does not justify you doing bad things.
Many reasons why. Not just because it's morally wrong to hurt others because you're in pain. But you personally and emotionally die.
You lose yourself amongst the chaos, the pain, regret, guilt, unfairness. If you go down that path. Yes, you are justified for wanting to get pay back towards those that hurt you. But at the cost of the parts of you that you love? The one they determined wasn't worth respect in the first place? It's tricky to navigate, but be diligent. You don't know what you're losing till after you break it yourself.
One thing. Allison didnt shoot Vanya. The gunshot was right next to Vanya.

I don’t get why they made Viktor’s powers just glow blue and shoot blue energy in the newer seasons, the first season was so much more interesting and aesthetically pleasing. He’s hardly the white violin anymore now that he turns into a smurf every time he uses his powers

Tbf that's kinda the point. He never learned to control his powers and emotions as a kid like the rest did thus doesn't as an adult. Both the apocalypses were cause by Viktor having major emotional meltdowns. He'd had to have an arc like Klaus did this season to fully be able to control their power outside of tense emotional situations.

unpopular opinion: i get that she had a sick, twisted and horrible past, but that does not justify her actions. im not saying that she should have turned out righteous and oozing goodness, i totally understand how the trauma has shaped her and made her do the (albeit annoying and self-centred) things she does, but what I hate the most is how people (us audiences in the real world) idolise her and feel empowered by her power. it pains me that younger audiences will look at her and be all "wow, she's so heroic for overcoming adversity". what she did at the end, was not being "powerful", it was losing control. it was forsaking all responsibility and becoming a threat to society.
i kind of think that her trauma and eventual retaliation against her families actions is kind of the point of her character. the entire plot is based around her causing these horrible things, but her family was the ones that pushed her to this point, so in a sense it all kind of trails back to them. it really is their fault, which is also why they can't really hold vanya responsible since she never would've done these things had she been loved or treated well by her family.
That's what I've noticed in the younger side of Gen-Z. They believe that trauma justifies everything, and all actions done because of that trauma is the fault of the person who caused the trauma. It's a victim mindset.
well, i mean. the only reaso9n she caused the apocalypse in the first season, you know. Destroying the moon and killing a lot of people, is because her family attacked her while she was performing at a concert because they felt justified in doing so.

And Vanya murdered someone because they beeped at her for standing in the middle of the road. They were justified.
But what if society became a threat to you, because in a way the people she was raised with caused this when there were so many chance for they to take a different root. If anything it should show and teach real life people to be kind to people and come from a place of understanding instead Instant judgment. If Luke would have emotional been there for her the ending would be completely different. It’s like if you gave baby bambi a machine. That’s how I view vanya. I thinks he gets a pass. If anything it’s the people or “society” that needs to change their way of treating people. My golden rule is be kind.
She stopped playing violin and acting the character when the actor came out. Was it truly necessary? The violin is the most important part of Vanya's life...it is where her powers have shown and grew.

She can turn sound into destructive waves of pure energy and she can also use sound waves to simulate telekinesis
She can materialize sound into force waves. Similar to how Quake from Marvel uses vibrations.

Y gracias a eso es capaz de manipular la materia (posiblemente deformarla), controlar o manipular el clima, absorber la vida y fuerza vital de las personas(aunque nosé si esto es también conectado al absorber sonido), darles poderes a los que el desea manteniendo una conexión telepatica con ellos(sin mencionar que es inmune a los ataques que sean dirigidos por su propio poder cuando esa persona con la que lo comparte quiere hacerle daño) entre otras otras cosas que tiene que ver con la mente. Let's be honest. Luther and Diego are mostly useless. They're the weakest of all 7 and also the least intelligent ones. They treated Vanya like trash and yet everyone just forget the fact they cause the most trouble throughout the story. (Diego is the main troublemaker)

Vanya was cool and all, great powers and cool story. But regardless of her horrid childhood she still technically committed manslaughter on trillions of lifeforms so I don't thing she gets a pass for committing genocide.
Elliot still did good doe, 10/10 do recommend.
But they would have never happened if her powers and emotion were never compressed as a child. Keep in mind she found her emotion “safety” from Leonard so. Vanya gets a pass.
In the second season she isn’t going off the rails she find safety with the correct people surrounded in the correct environment. It’s only when toxic people comes around when negativity things happen. That’s what I’ve noticed. The siblings learned to emotional be there for each other in season 2 and the end of the world is once again cause by THE PEOPLE with toxic reason of pushing vanya to the edge. So at the end of the day maybe it isn’t her but just the people. Every single action we do or put out towards people will forever matter. My golden rule is be kind.

Being a living superweapon doesn't make him a "villian" per se (in Season 1). It wasn't his fault that the other siblings f-d up, but that's just because they didn't knew the details until it was too late. But it all goes back to Reginald (and his 4D chess grand plan), that he purposefully didn't trained Number Seven to control his powers prematurely. The only downside is that he was possessed back then (probably even voluntarily), and didn't understand that he was about to wipe out the human race (either by creating massive shockwave, that probably was originally happened before Five's arrival to the post-apocalyptic world, or by shattering the Moon). But that's no excuse still, even during all of this he didn't mind to kill random innocent people (that one car driver, and the audience in the concert where he unleashed a force wave "out of defense mechanism") or to suck out life force out of his siblings (even if they were going to knock him out, if that would meant saving the world from him).
@user-yy5di3qg5u Hargreaves never let the others know bout Victor's powers. So it's valid. However having known about it, they weren't there to support him. They pushed him, hid him and triggered the trauma and hatred that he grew to have for their father. The most fucked up and safely fucked up among them is Allison. Victor was never taught to control his powers, yet he did in further seasons with help.
