Great list! Wearing Beau de Jour today, my favorite "meetings at the office" scent. Another few honorable mentions: Tom Ford's Fougere d'Argent and perhaps Nishane B-612 and Margiela's At The Barber's.
my current fav fougere that I have in my collection are The One Gentleman, Pasha de Cartier parfum and Egoiste Platinum

Im happy that i have 1 per category with Azzaro Pour Homme, Houbigant Fougere Royale and Roja Apex EDP. Im looking at MFK Masculin Pluriel and maybe TF Beau De Jour to replace Apex as i want my choice to be lavender centric like the other 2 i have

Great list. Masculin Pluriel is my personal favourite fougere, I think it’s the best “modern” take on a fougere that I’ve smelled, with Sartorial coming a very close second. 🙌🏻🔥

Great video and very helpful video. Wonderful content always. Thank you. I tried JPG Le Male Le Parfum first and loved it!! Decided to then try the original. For some reason, there is a note in the original Le Male ,that to my nose, smells like mildew. Lol. Any idea of what note I’m discerning that way?

I can’t believe I remembered their commercial. That was my dad’s signature scent during my childhood in the 70s (it “was” his scent; he no longer wears fragrances, on account of my mother’s migraines ☹️).
I might have to grab a bottle just for sentimental reasons, especially since it’s so inexpensive.
Wonderfull list Max. This is one of my to go to scentprofiles and great to see some bottles I own in your picks. You also showed me a couple I realy am going to sample.
On my personal list there would also be Chanel's Platinum Égoïste included, but there are so many out there, you just can't list them all in just 20 minutes and also explain a little bit about them.

Max, thanks for doing this. I have been a frag head long enough to know trends change; that’s why they’re called trends. However… I am so over all the bubblegum stuff, e.g., vanilla, tonka, sugar and heavy ambro.
Max, this a stellar list. Have you ever tried Special for Gentlemen by Le Galion? it's a great fougere with some warm and resinous notes. A must try!

Surprised you did not include Jacomo de Jacomo. I just bought a bottle because the scent memory came on my mind several months go and wouldn’t leave. I haven’t had a bottle for several years. It’s not what it was but still a beautiful, classy fougere.

Thank you for such informative videos. Being still relatively new to better fragrances, I've been trying to learn and to properly describe them. I recently tried my first real fougere and it was Fougere D'Argent. Love at first sniff.
My most recent scent is the NFT1 from Scents of Wood NFT subscription. I've heard Fabrice describe it as a woody musk, but with notes of white musk, lavender, and vetiver, could it also be a fougere? Curious to see if I'm picking out the correct descriptions.

Its Zegna by E Zegna, its the old dark green bottle, with orang box.
This is amazing, but never heard any body talks to.
Dior sauvage extreme, this is also marvelous smell, nobody talks to.
Are they fougere?

Where's a smothered and choking but SUPPORTIVE wife when you need one eh? 🤣 Seriously though, she's probably right. Lavender can be quite aromatic. Some true classics in this one Max. Actually rocking Azzaro's Pour Homme L'eau today. Not a bad little scent considering it had big shoes to fill, but I think they did alright. Glad I got the bigger bottle.

Great list and informative as well. You really gave me a flashback with the Giorgio. I had it way back when it came out - as a teenager no less, and I loved it then. But for the life of me, I cannot remember what it smelled like. Now I’m dying to smell it again.
