I have to agree. Gant was in such a position of power that Phoenix and Edgeworth had to trick into making a piece of unregistered evidence against him relevant, and the fact it was a piece of fabricated evidence that Gant was using to blackmail Lana made it even more satisfying, and I just realised something. We know that at the apex of SL-9, just before Neil Marshall was murdered, Joe Darke tried to take Ema hostage, and Gant, in a way, while everyone was unconsciously, took the opportunity to psychologically hold Ema hostage by making Lana think Ema had accidentally killed Neil Marshall and using that as blackmail. It shows off how ruthless Gant truly was and he would’ve been able to cement his control had Detective Goodman not requested to reopen the case for the SL-9 Incident. Also, I liked how the first time Gant testifies, when he’s trying to make the “Victim was killed in two places at once” issue relevant to the case, he feels like a mini boss as he’s deliberately leaving behind contradictions to prove the “murder” at the police department is relevant to the case. The funny thing is, had he not done that, Phoenix and Ema would never have found any of the most important evidence needed to expose him in the first place - a perfect display of where Gant was being arrogant, thinking that the evidence in the room wouldn’t raise any red flags for the people present, but all it did was make it easier for both Phoenix and Edgeworth to trace the murder back to him.
imo he beats von karma for certain, as he was despicable from the start. you just wanted to see him framed, meanwhile with gant, the slow burn of you discovering how terrifying he actually is really sold it to me.
@@godoflemmings17 the case was like a dlc because even its not in the anime but spoiler alert!: but after the 3rd game they used ema in apolllo and investegations
Honestly? It felt like some sort of DLC, with the ending of the 5th case, the sudden transition into the 6th case, the added mechanics, and the length of the case. It was dazzling.
It is because in this world. Those of power flex it hard and the little people can't do much but watch. Though there is a breaking point and I do not which game it was. The justice system was nearly burnt to the ground. All because the people had enough with the corruption of not only the prosecution but also the defense lawyers. Gant being the Police Chief. He seems to hold a lot of power. Even though in reality. Police Chiefs are whipping boys to any Mayor or Governor. Be surprise how many chiefs there are that will bend over backwards to please the politician that is pretty much breaking the law. =.= legally speaking any officer can arrest them, but that is a death sentence for the officer. The politics muddle the enforcement of laws and really the only logical choice is to pretty much go beyond legal bonds and show they cannot break one law of nature, death. Which someone ends their lives. A harsh statement to make, but one that has to be made. After all, Gant is a dead man. I mean, how many criminals did he sent to prison unlawfully or how many powerful people he now is enemies with. That man is dead. Even if a Death Sentence was never given. And really do not know what happens to him after the trial, but being how corrupt the system is. It is likely he disappeared and found hanging by his tie.
That's right, princess Azula. I played the theme before going to a poker match. I lost $100 [the cash game's buy-in] so I immediately asked if someone could stake me up. Someone did. Later then I missed and folded two hands that were crucial spots... managed to lose only $20. Had fun but it would have been nicer for another outcome. Money comes and goes like the wind in the poker tables. But it is for a professional to win, win and win and lose the minimum when the odds are stacked against you. Two things from this particular case factor into "Ace Attorney Apollo Justice". One of them is the connection between Phoenix Wright and Ema Skye, since Ema herself speaks of having past history with Wright while talking with Apollo Justice. The other thing that factored into "Ace Attorney Apollo Justice" was the "critical evidence in the exhaust pipe of a car" shenanigan. That one plays a hand during the investigation in said game's second case. Apollo himself mentions reading one of Phoenix Wright's case files where a critical piece of evidence was found in the exhaust pipe of a car and since then he thinks to check said pipes while on a case.
You have to admit, the people who need to learn the rules arent... they aren't all that bright. It would take a lot of repetition to get them to learn it, and even then they have difficulties after years of working the job.

He's a great villain, and I'd argue he's even better than Godot or Manfred von Karma.
@@tw0tr1ckp0nyficated although von karma has the unique ability to haunt phoenix from the grave with how hard he was to beat in court

@@godoflemmings17 which sucks because there was this one part in reunion, my turnabout that would have been great for 3D examination
It really bugs me how Gant just openly threatens/blackmails people in court and no one even says anything about it
It is because in this world.

3:05:23 One of the most unique stuff in Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney.
Yea i was really surprised to see a character movement
