  • Today Chad got hearing aids. He is really excited to be able to hear better. He loves how they are blue tooth and he can use his phone to make adjustments. There should not be a stigma with getting hearing aids, no one thinks anything of it if you need glasses right?

Seriously the cutest "experienced" couple on You Tube (notice I didnt say old people, lol) Chad you couldnt be any cuter if you tried and Jennifer your Love for Chad clearly shows through in each video. My Dad had very similar hearing aids, they improved things for his hearing immensely. He had worked at Bethlehem Steel Corp, in Buffalo (Lakawanna) NY for about 30 years, retired young, and we all noticed what a toll the Plant had taken on his hearing. Good for you Chad for being so proactive with your hearing, and what sounds like your vision in a future Vid. Makes me smile everytime I get the notice that you've put up a new video. Be well, and enjoy your lives ❤❤

I went and had my hearing checked, don't need hearing aids yet.....but one thing they did tell me as we get older, someone speaks and it takes our brain a little longer to comprehend what is said. There is a little delay while our brain registers what was said. I have found that true, because at times, my daughter will say something to me and I will immediately say "huh", but then what she says "clicks". I really enjoy your videos. You are a very lovely couple.

I can't wear ear loop masks with both hearing aids and glasses. I use an "extender" that goes across the back of my head. There is a button on each end, and the ear loops go over the buttons.

Funniest line in Sister Act, “Turn up your hearing aids, Alma!” I got them 2 years ago, not so much for hearing loss(I do have that), but for tinnitus. I love the Bluetooth feature, I listen to books on tape through my phone. I can ignore everyone!

I used to say that my husband has a 20 second delay, because his response to any comment I would make, took about that long for him to reply. I realize now he was trying to process what he was hearing, and often filling in the blanks. He has also worked in a loud mining industry, as well as played music professionally, and farmed. So one can see how all those things would contribute to hearing loss. He is finally coming to realize he needs hearing aids too. Thx for sharing your story!

I think it is wonderful that he was able to admit he couldn't hear. So many people don't say anything because of the stigma, but like you said it's just like wearing glasses.
People, one thing, go to your doctor and make sure your ears are cleaned first. I knew a woman who was losing her hearing....It got worse every year, finally she went to her doctor to look into a hearing test to see if she needed a hearing aid. It was determined that her ear canal curved a little and her ear wax was so thick she was losing her hearing.....They did a ear cleaning, and when they got all the wax out, she didn't need a hearing aid any more.......true story....Please have your ears checked at least once a year.

I appreciate my husband's rechargeable hearing aids and (even close up) you don't notice the fine wire that wraps around and into his ear. Behind his ear the transmitter is gray and near invisible... be extra careful when removing your mask that you don't dislodge your aids. Also, my husband was 'super sensitive' when around louder people having multiple conversations BUT he was happy hearing the little sounds that he hadn't heard for so long and ones that 'WE' take for granted on a daily basis & not being used to them they can amplify & get in your head.

Whilst I was still working I realised that I was missing out on conversations across the rooms and this was not good whilst working in a nursery setting. So I succumbed to getting hearing aids I was 58 years old and I am only very slightly deaf. It was the spoken voice that was the worst for me now my husband has now noticed that my radio in my car isnt very loud anymore and the tv is much quieter!!! They are Oticon hearing aids and I am very pleased with them they can also be blue toothed with my iphone as well which is great. No one should be made to feel bad at wearing hearing aids these aids as they are quite small as well. They are also rechargeable hearing aids so no more fiddling with the small batteries you spoke about just charge them up in the evening before I go to bed as well.

For 30yrs we thought our Aunt Betty was completely deaf. My uncle would shout and repeat. One day after he passed I visited her and there was no shouting. She was in a quiet conversation. I thought it was a Miracle! Nope, she'd just been tuning out bossy uncle Bill. They were both school teachers and similar personalities. It was a real relief when she was in her 90's and could hear okay. I still think it was a miracle.

Lol...brings up memories of my father-in -law and mother -in-law. When she would start in on something he didn’t want to hear, we’d see him discretely reach up and turn his hearing aids down. Fun memories.

Thank goodness such things exist is what I say. My lifelong fear has been the thought of ever losing my teeth...wellll, the illness I was diagnosed with 8 years ago has caused me to lose a couple of top molars, I'm 60 and have had fabulous teeth without need for treatments thus far...now?? now I need a couple of dentures 🤔🙄🤨 Oh my goodness my ego is well and truly bruised 😂🤣 Hope you're enjoying the decibels Chad...and Jennifer, mind what you utter under your breath now!!😉

I’ve had my hearing aids for 10 years now - I got mine when I was 14 & I wear mine with pride! Such a luxury being able to turn the noise of the world off and on as I please 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

So true when you compared needing hearing aids to wearing glasses ... same thing exactly. Aids make life easier!

Yay Chad!!!! I hope the hearing aids work well for you😊! I wish you would’ve treated yourself and purchased the ones that could pair with the tv. You deserve to be able to enjoy a movie or show without struggling to hear ❤️!!

You said he is about ready to have cataract surgery. My husband had his done in Jan. and he can't believe how good he is seeing. He says the colors are so much brighter. I have one that is getting close to ready and was hoping it was time but it wasn't. He said his surgery was over in mins.

I just got my hearing rechecked last Tuesday and I will be fitted for hearing aids next week. I have needed them for several years, but they are very expensive. I have severe high-frequency hearing loss!

I was born deaf in my left ear. I have a love/hate relationship with my hearing aids. However, when my little kids aren't as loud I will end of wearing them again.

When I first got my hearing aides I walked outside and immediately heard birds chirping in a nearby tree. Also, when I walked into my house the first thing I heard was the refrigerator. It’s a whole new world. Mine are a few years old so I’m sure the technology has improved. My only complaint is when I go to a live theater or the movies the sound is muffled, doesn’t matter how I adjust the volume. What I have learned is movie theaters and some live theaters have hearing devices you can use (no charge) to amplify the sound system, I remove my aides and use the provided head sets, it’s been a game changer for me. Good luck Chad.
