@@samsien9105 Yes you're wrong, not enough power, very unlikely to have the accuracy needed to hunt, an ordinary bow, slingshot or air rifle would all be better options, there are full size rifle versions that have more power but the other options would still be better.

I doubt the match does anything at all other than make a soft "crack" sound like a cap gun. I used to shoot wooden matches from my pellet gun so they would "crack" when they hit something hard --- but they also started on fire so if you were to shoot a matchstick at a brick wall next to dry grass the matchstick would make the "crack" sound but would also fall into the grass and start a fire.

A couple of serious problems here, first in the U.S. anyway, you can no longer get "strike anywhere" matches which is what's needed as "strike on box" simply won't normally ignite that way and burn too slow if they manage it. Well you can get a version of "strike anywhere" here but what's sold as that type of match (usually as camping or survival items) is little more than a bad joke and they won't work either. The correct "strike anywhere" matches can be sold in the U.S. but D.O.T. regulations now require them to be transported as HAZMAT items making them so expensive they are no longer produced or sold here. Second as a kid growing up in the hills of Kentucky I can attest to the fact that while this gun does work it has at best the power of a BB gun! The correct matches were everywhere back in those days and we were well aware of the explosive nature of the things, we as kids built everything from versions of the gun described to literal pipe cannons loaded with dozens of match heads all discharging at once (yeah we played dangerously but we had fun!). So I know from experience this thing could be used for self defense only by a (VERY!) lucky shot to an assailant's eye! A good air pistol would be more effective so don't fall for the BullS#!t here, this thing is about as effective for self defense as a BB gun and way less accurate!
