Nice craftmanship. But actually more of a zip-gun than a crossbow ;) (I guess it could also be chambered with a shotshell primer. Which would make it more powerful.)
Interesting how the hyper-critical commenters have time to watch someone create wooden masterpieces and yet complain he has too much time on his hands, his nails are too long or belittle its effectiveness with misspelled grammar! Have a blessed day!

Wow, this wooden crossbow is amazing! The craftsmanship and attention to detail are truly impressive. The way you explain the mechanics behind it adds an educational touch to the entertainment. Looking forward to more fascinating creations on your channel! 👏🏹✨
Technically it doesn't, it can't take a self contained cartridge. Same reason cap and ball guns and muzzleloaders aren't legally firearms under ATF rules

A great craftsman and a good video as well. Nicely done and hopefully you inspired some people. I like how some people will criticize your creations, while they have empty hands themselves. True hypocrites with little integrity I say.
A cool concept would be to explore something like the nerf MagStrike(where it pump it and it unloads a volley of foam, like a M1 Garand ammo clip). But I guess that would fall under full auto😂
The match exploding by striking it with the metal sliding striker what you might call it? Is not making too much sense to me since the match is not strook against something solid is just being pushed forward through the screw really fast. I quite don't buy it yet. I need more detail and verbal explanation plus closer action concept visuals.
I doubt the match does anything at all other than make a soft "crack" sound like a cap gun. I used to shoot wooden matches from my pellet gun so they would "crack" when they hit something hard --- but they also started on fire so if you were to shoot a matchstick at a brick wall next to dry grass the matchstick would make the "crack" sound but would also fall into the grass and start a fire.
@@diycrossbow how you got a comment that was intended for Shatners Hairpeice l shall never know?.l had not intended to comment but feel obliged to now.l did indeed watch your video with interest and if l did not already have some fine examples of manufactured item and a bit of ill health as a moderate carpenter l would have taken this project on.Good luck to you.
A couple of serious problems here, first in the U.S. anyway, you can no longer get "strike anywhere" matches which is what's needed as "strike on box" simply won't normally ignite that way and burn too slow if they manage it. Well you can get a version of "strike anywhere" here but what's sold as that type of match (usually as camping or survival items) is little more than a bad joke and they won't work either. The correct "strike anywhere" matches can be sold in the U.S. but D.O.T. regulations now require them to be transported as HAZMAT items making them so expensive they are no longer produced or sold here. Second as a kid growing up in the hills of Kentucky I can attest to the fact that while this gun does work it has at best the power of a BB gun! The correct matches were everywhere back in those days and we were well aware of the explosive nature of the things, we as kids built everything from versions of the gun described to literal pipe cannons loaded with dozens of match heads all discharging at once (yeah we played dangerously but we had fun!). So I know from experience this thing could be used for self defense only by a (VERY!) lucky shot to an assailant's eye! A good air pistol would be more effective so don't fall for the BullS#!t here, this thing is about as effective for self defense as a BB gun and way less accurate!
🟦... Most of the super-glue you used to put the grips-on got absorbed before you were able to apply the grip,.. you would have been better served by using screws.
так и не понял а как он стреляет, спичка вставляется в ствол, и туда же пулька, ну и чё из этого, в лучшем случае спичка как пистонка щёлкнет и больше ничего 🤔
I doubt it does anything beyond making a soft "pop" when struck --- but the stick itself pushes the pellet forward. You could just fling the pellet with a rubber band and it'd go faster than this.
Excellent craftsmanship! Perhaps the word “Defense” is a bit misleading unless your main attackers are balloons.
