This page is absolutely beautiful. And I think the two outliers belong in the group. One looks like a fresh avocado and the other an overripe… 🥑 or maybe it’s peel… either way it’s just gorgeous. They all are.
Very nice comparison! Ink is pretty magical when it comes out of the bottle onto paper - the color transformation can be amazing with some colors. Fun video!
Thanks! Was fun to gather them all together and even more fascinating is what I thought they were online compared to what shows up in swatches and writing samples. Gotta love 'em!
Thanks Yochan for the suggestion. I do use a paintbrush (e.g. for currently inked swatching) but for these Inky Es swatches I actually want that unevenness. That varied splotch of colour is exactly what I'm after. Thanks for watching!
Loved almost all of them. So pretty. Diamine Classic Green would fit perfectly. It´s my all time favorite olive. I also love Diamine Salamander which is a murky green light brown. And the classic Rohrer & Klingner Alt-Goldgruen a shading yellowish green.
You know all of these are now on my list, right? 😉 And dang! Wish I'd known about that Rohrer & Klingner ink before I started this lineup. Think it def should have been included. Thanks for the recs and for watching!
There´s always a part 2, 3, 4... to colour groups. 🤗Can I ask you a question, Grace? I love lightish brown colours (Diamine Golden Brown, Robert Oster Kansas City, KWZ Honey, Inkebara Earth...) but I can´t get any of them to work in my preferred ef or f nibs. They feel so dry and unlubricated. So I hardly ever use them. Do you have any idea why that is? Is it the colour?🤔 @@wildlyimaginable
Hadn't even thought of that..making a colour series. Duh! Thanks for that suggestion. As for what you're experiencing with those inks, it could be a myriad of things that contribute to the issue. ...the saturation of dye in the ink ... the specific pen's nib/feed not working with the ink ...even the paper you're using to write on (its absorbency). I am no expert in this at all but have a few suggestions. 1. Try the inks in a different nib size to see if you experience the same dryness. Then you'll know with some certainty whether or not it's just the behavior of these particular inks. 2. Add lubricant, very very sparingly, to the ink bottle. 3. Visit pen sites like Reddit (r/fountainpens) or The Fountain Pen Network to get advice from more knowledgeable and experienced pen enthusiasts. I've actually joined Reddit just for this purpose. Hope this helps. Thanks for a great question.😊
Such a lovely page of greens! As if your 'greens' wish list wasn't long enough, I Could add Diamine Safari to your radar :-) lovely bright yellowy-olive
Love seeing these swatch pages--little pieces of art. I'm always on the look-out for an olive that is nicely legible. Went to a pen meet-up, and a bottle of Monteverde Olivine was up for grabs. Really like it, though it's a darker green.
Whoa. That Monteverde is a beautifully gorgeous dark OG. Hope you grabbed that bottle or at least got a sample. I just discovered pen meetups where i live .Only been once so far but def going back. That's exactly what I think of these pages...little works of art. Speaks to the long time creator in me. Thanks for watching PK! Btw, love your Utube handle 😊
My favorite color group! Beautiful! I would love to share some heavy sheening ink - surprisingly the new Lamy violet blackberry has a strong sheen. I have a bottle if you pups like a sample
Hey Dana! I absolutely loved collecting the Olive Greens I swatched. I've been looking at the new Lamy pens and inks for 2024, trying HARD not to give in (🤪) to the temptation but I might have found a use for them if I purchase (use strictly for mixed inks). The next Inky Es was originally blue inks with heavy sheening (reds mostly) but have found a few greens and purples that sheen with red (or pink) as well so might include them, hence the possible shift to "cool colours". I'd love to swap some inks with you.
I love love love greens! I finally got a Lamy 2000 in extra fine (writes more like a medium surprisingly) & filled it with Vinta Karnival Summer Green & it is a match made in HEAVEN the nib is juicy enough for the shading to come through nicely! & FINALLY just placed an order for Teranishi Gentle Green after trying everywhere to find it in stock. It made me laugh when you mentioned loving to watch the inks dry. You here the phrase "like watching paint dry" who knew that watching ink dry would be so much more exciting! Because it definitely IS! 😊
I know right! Waiting for the inks to really come into their own when dry is an almost magical experience. So...can I gather from your comments that greens are a fave colour? Heehee. But I can see why tho cause that Teranishi Gentle Green and its chromatography is like whoa! Nothin gentle about it. On the list of inks to get. Hopefully I find a bottle.
@@wildlyimaginable greens, blues, teals, dark reds/burgundies, purples, browns, greys... Lol pretty much the only colors I don't gravitate toward are yellow/orange shades... Lol
I LOVE warm colours! Red was my thing for quite a few years. I guess you could say I'm a rainbow kinda person. 😆 Love 'em all, even tho some I gravitate to more than others.
Hi Grace, I love your videos. How do you swatch the top of your ink samples bottles? Mine are just plastic. Thanks! I love the army green in the Detox. Also, what is the holder for your ink sample while you’re swatching?
Thanks Joi! I bought 2 types of ½’ dots for the top of sample bottles…matte and semi gloss (I think). Still don’t know which I prefer. The holder is actually a MUJI tape dispenser but I swear when I saw it in the store I saw sample bottle holder 😆 It’s one of my fave sample holders to use. And I’m with you, Detox is soooo good a colour!
Lovely colors! The greens make me ready for spring. I can hear the joy on your voice when you are creating. 🌺 Great video...keep them coming!
I am soooo ready for spring! Thanks for watching Patti!
Lovely diverse group of greens. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching Rita!

That's hilarious and so true...they both look like opposite ends of an avocado's life. Thanks Fran! 🥰

I know right!!! What can I say but that I love, LOVE colour and these inks really put some juicy ones down. Mmmmh!
You will love using Taccia Uguisu! That ink is so dynamic, it’s like writing with multiple colors at once 💚
Ooh! I like that description! 😊
Love these swatches! They look beautiful together!
Thanks! Was fun to gather them all together and even more fascinating is what I thought they were online compared to what shows up in swatches and writing samples. Gotta love 'em!
Love the variety of greens, I would apply swatches using a paint brush, it applies more evenly, just a suggestion, thanks❤

BPC's Sugar Kelp would fit in very well with this group
Omg, YES. Will put that on my want list. It’s gorgeous, thank you!
such a lovely collection of inks! olive greens are def some of my favourites :)
