I personally like it. It’s a basic, neat, original gaming laptop. It has a good look, good quality, and good processor. I for sure am going to buy this.
buy hp16 it has double slots hp15 has single ssd slot i was really disappointed when i purchased ssd and went for installment but when i opened laptop it had only single ssd slot :(

I really like the one that I got last month. On sale at Best buy for $800. 12th gen i7 16 core up to 4.7 GHz on turbo. 16 gigs single channel ddr4 3200 MHz memory. 144 Hertz refresh display. GTX 3050 TI 4 gigs. The hard drive surprised me, m.2 512 gigs, I haven't opened it up yet to see what brand the hard drive is, and I can't remember all the numbers but the baseline number was transferring something around crystal bench mark showed seq1m at 9500 mb/s read.
I guess for what I do, which is some light gaming and heavy processing, it is wonderful. But if top specs are your things to look at, obviously don't go for a budget computer.
With whisper mode turned on and grab some hard quality set to performance versus quality, the GPU and CPU definitely stay toasty. If you crank things up higher on the GPU things look great, but you will see some pretty high temperatures of the 140° variety. Queen system is not the best, but again, I tuned mine down and it's fantastic for what I use.
This computer is pretty awesome! I was not expecting the hard drive to be a top of the line type. The processor is extremely quick. I was able to set the graphics card to run primarily and and whisper mode. Everything stays reasonably cool when on normally use. This was and extremely awesome deal!
512 gigabytes M.2 4th Genx4, 16 gigs dual channel memory, to USB 3.2 slots and one type C slot, 200 Watt power supply, backlit keyboard, RTX 3050TI 4 gigs, HDMI 2.1, SD reader slot come on 3.5 millimeter Jack, 144 Hertz display, nice speaker set-up., Intel i7 12th gen 16 thread CPU.
Remember to go into windows settings and enable gaming mode and also turn on hardware accelerated GPU scheduling.
Use the omen gaming hub and go to quiet settings for performance control, and set fan speed to auto if not already set.
Download GeForce experience and set it to whisper mode and battery saving.
Go to NVIDIA graphic settings and run things off the graphics card and enable developer options.
Set Windows power mode to best performance.
Run the Intel graphics command center.
Download and run Western Digital drive utilities.
I also installed Primocache and just ran 4 gigs on that program.
The hard drive was showing a incredible ridiculous speed on crystal disk mark seven.
My only complaint is the cooling system is probably not the best based on the fan setup. But, I was not expecting top tier gaming computer performance and ,my temperatures Hoover around a respectable 120 degrees usually.
***UPDATE*** I opened the laptop and removed the little black heatshield covering the screen. Now my temps hover around 100... I don't know why HP put that on. I also used electrical tape and bridged the gap between the fan and heatsink.

Multicore 7,735 7th place
Singlecore 1,512 2nd place
MP Ratio 5.12 10th place
Also screen woble has not been an issue at all for me.

To everyone having questions about the “screen wobble”, lemme tell you if you will spank it, it will wobble, if you’ll not mess with it, it will stay normal.
I chose this laptop because I have to go to college and carrying a charger brick would be really uncomfortable, this has a wayy bigger and better battery backup than any other gaming laptop at the same price
it looks way more professional than most gaming laptops too, also just a question is it possible to connect it to a power bank to get a couple more hours when you're outside doing tasks like word, ppt & chrome?

I just bought this today! For the cheap price I love it. Saved my ass some money. Best Buy has it on sale for the holidays at $449.00 and it only came out to $500.00 with next day shipping, and tax. I mainly got it for some older games and the internet. I'll get another desk top in the future when I move.

4 hours doing basic work, even then its likely less while gaming
I haven't tried running the laptop on more stringent settings to see if I can optimize battery life, but it predicts about four and a half hours at maximum performance settings. There are a bunch of programs to run that you can set different settings on and will probably help optimize battery life. And another posting and another video someone said the battery saver mode helped a ton.
The battery life while doing light work. Maybe having a couple chrome tabs open is 4-5 hours. If you aren't going to game, I'd drop your price range a bit. You can get a great laptop for light work for 600-800 dollars.

Hi TechbyPike, I think I just got the answer to your SSD slot question. According to the agent from HP, it seems like they didn't include it because it's a custom ordered version and they have to gather the parts. If it was store bought or even the 16-inch model however it would come with it is essentially how it was explained.
This is how it was explained to me or at least for the most part. I hope that answers that question you had about why it doesn't exist there.

I bought one of this in BB, and I had exactly the same disappointment, the laptop comes with only one hard disk space, contrary to the victus 16 that comes with two enabled spaces, this model only has one, so if you want to improve the memory capacity you will have to change the ssd for one with a higher capacity, I imagine that HP did it to save a few dollars, other than that, I think this is an excellent purchase, good cost-benefit ratio.
What is the battery life if it is 12gen 450h and gtx 1650?

How did it run
Runs watchdogs at its high settings. If I could lock the frame rate it’d be a solid 30fps. It does run at a smooth 60 but I see the occasional stutter I don’t think I’d see at lower settings. Don’t think I could ask for anything more. It plays all my old games at max and the new ones at medium. I also only paid $909 for it so I’m extremely satisfied.
You can cap framerates for each game in Nvidia settings

i noticed u said there are two ram slots (2x8gb), any info on the type of ram that they use, and also max expandable size? I am tempted to get one from BestBuy and upgrade the ram to 64 or at least 32.
when u opened the laptop, was it just the seven screws at the bottom that had to be removed?
for dell we have to at times remove the bottom screws, then the keyboard coz there are additional ones below that too. can you confirm please. thank you

No screen wobble issue on mine, got mine and July 2022. And taking the thing apart is a snap, just the bottom screws. I have a dell from about 3 years ago and that one does do the screws underneath the keyboard and such. But the victus is easier by far to take apart.
What's the maximum RAM that the motherboard can handle? Is it 32 GB? I install lots of games from Steam and they run so much better, but I'm scared of ruining the motherboard. I installed 2 Corsair Vengeance 16 GB SODIMM the default ones with ddr4 and with pc3200 25600 Mhz speed. These are the correct type and speed

It's missing the conection for a second drive. This laptop can only use the one NVME drive.

Everything in this laptop is great apart from screen wobbling. HP could have fixed this already
Screen wobble hasnt been an issue for me. Bought mine july 2022.

As long as it doesn't lead to separation I'm okay with wobbling. If it does lead to separation it's a complete deal breaker for me

Yes it will run them easily . But you should preferably look for a 3050 model . And if its out of your budget , then try upgrading to 16gb ram which will help boost fps
so ive always been an Xbox player and recently moved from New Hampshire to Montana and have been looking for a gaming laptop for a bit now and have had my eye on this it seems like what i wanna play it will run just fine I dont need anything crazy so this looks like a good choice and i just wanna make the right choice for a first time would this be a good choice for a beginner.

I really hate how HP didn't even bother installing the second ssd slot.
On this laptop I believe the intake for cooling is above the keyboard
Intake is underneath the keyboard, and there are two fans... but the placement is not the best, they are both on the same side.
There are vents that run along the entire bottom, but a thick head shield or dust shield blocks the vents. At the inconvenience of blowing the computer out more often i removed the plastic sheild thing and dropped my temps by 20 degrees.
@@MrSeanselleck I really want to get rid of that black plastic shroud over the intake grill, but I'm pretty sure that would void the warranty due to "modification" of the computer :( Any ideas to do it reversibly so that wouldn't happen?

It definitely will work awesome. Cinebench r23 scores were 5.2 10th place for MP ratio, 1512 singlecore 2nd place, 7735 multicore 7th place. I definitely feel spoiled using it.

Update: It finally came in and let me just say this thing is absolutely amazing. The keyboard is great, the speakers are pretty good, and the performance is great for the price. I highly recommend buying this!!!

Actually, I changed my mind, I opened the laptop, checked for the solder pads, but I was bit afraid not to burn something, I dont have the right tools (soldering tip, or fan), so I left it alone. It neither has a mountong nut, that should be soldered also. For now I’ll be fine with the 512 ssd. If I need more, i'll just swap it with something bigger. Upgraded to 32gb ram tho, ram is more important

Good Question, I think it had a 720p camera if I remember right. I think you would find the quality of recording subpar.
How are the thermals?
Mine heats up a little bit with heavy game loads when using the AC power cord but if your using it as a laptop with the battery and not the AC power with normal tasks it doen't get hot at all.

Does it wobble when used in lap?
no not really. The screen has flex but they make it that way so its not as easy to get damaged. A little screen flex is a good thing.

Make sure to game on charging, otherwise integrated graphics will drop frames. The fans are actually very quiet, even when playing triple a games
Also pointing out that HP and Dell have better longer lasting duration like 6-7+ years even though they are expensive.
Cuz my Dell Vostro 3468 i5 7th gen dual core.
It works good but can't handle heavy stuff like After effects, rendering, da vinci and games after 2015.

@@Aileenhdzee yes, this will be a great "budget" gaming laptop. He can pretty much play any game that is out there with this laptop. I am actually on my way to Best Buy to buy one for my girlfriend... Note that the 1650 GPU is from 2019.. He can use this laptop for 2-3 years and sell it for $200-300 easily
Games that require high end graphics card; he can just change settings to medium or low (he'll know when it gets laggy)
Down the line he can buy a monitor and hook up that laptop and play games on a bigger screen.. But I can assure you that he will want to build his own desktop PC within the next year or so :)

Depends on the model. if your getting the the same exact model as in the video, no.
Mine had all the same specs as the guy in the video, I got mine in July of 2022. It's got one slot for m.2. there is an additional area where they could have attached and additional and got two slot but they did not. You can swap out The m.2 for another one, but it is a Western digital which seems to get pretty decent speeds. Some are around 6,000 read.
I used Primocache and mine pulls a artificial read speed around 9,500.

@@Euroticc Yes you can upgrade the HDD by replacing the stock drive with a larger size you would just have to do a clean install of windows. I went from a 512gb to a 2tb with no issues.

My Victus is almost garbage... almost garbage because I haven't yet buy another Laptop!
No more HP products for me; NOT EVEN THE CHARGER IS RELIABLE & THE JUNK IS SLOWER THAN MY PREVIOUS LAPTOP. At $1,000.00, my HP lemon doesn't even has touch screen. On the other hand, Cloud and Onedrive (designed to spy and steal our info) began collecting my external drive data and by removing my external drive my data got corrupted.
