Bonus tip: you can knock out enemies in one punch like Indy does in the movies if you hold and charge up the heavy attack and aim the white dot at the enemies face. I forgot if you need an upgrade for that or not, but it's really cool once you learn how to do it.
For the enemies with weapons and dodging the giants grabs, I use the left joystick pushed in the away direction and on xbox the A button to sort of dodge backwards.. its like a slide step out of the way of the larger attacks..
Great tips, Sammy! I don't think there's any lengthy game like this I don't restart after few hours of play when I learn of something I missed. "If at first you don't succeed..." I suppose. I didn't even think to break padlocked boxes from the outset...duh. One thing I do like about hand-to-hand combat is as a enemies charge you, a well-timed punch knocks them out rather quickly. That's smart game physics.
Everything you mention in this video is explained in the in-game manual accessible directly from the pause screen. Not criticizing your effort - I get it, lots of people don't read - just letting people know there is an in-game "cheat sheet" for all of these mechanics should you ever need to refresh your memory.
You shouldn't have to enter a menu to learn basic and core mechanics of the game, that's just bad design. The game is amazing but it does a god awful job at actually convey how you actually fucking do anything
@ yeah, I don't disagree. It's very bad at conveying these sorts of things. The way it does it reminds me of GTA and Red Dead - a blink-and-you-miss-it text box usually popping up while you're being actively distracted by something else. It's terrible.

You saved a life today
2:43 - That Bud Spencer head bonk on the seconde enemie... haha.
Make sure to unlock Throttle and Jumbo Throttle. Uses the whip to knock out unaware enemies when you hold RB
Does anyone know how "Bear Hands" works? It's a book you pick up that says "enables unarmed take-downs of enemies"
Repair kits only work for weapons that go a long with your outfit. Not for picked up weapons

you can parry enemies who have weapons, but it seems like the parry window is a bit bigger if you also have a weapon.
Hi, question, how do you push enemies off ledges? I have seen people do it , but I can't figure it out.
Click in the right joystick
Like someone else on here i would love to know how “Bear Hands” ( a book for combat) works. Anyone know?

He says at 0:46 that these aren’t hidden mechanics and explained in game so…
@ yeah... I know that.
