The Bad Batch Episode 7 and 8 BREAKDOWN - HE'S BACK
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 жов 2024
- Two really fun episodes! I enjoyed these ones particularly because of the senate dealings which really dived into the transition of the stormtrooper army from the clones. I love how we got Rex and Palpatine returning in these.
We enter the senate and Rampart and Chuchi go head to head. She makes a massive claim that he was responsible for diverting Kaminoan funding outside of cloning without senate approval. The crowd makes noise as Rampart tries to move on from the question as she grills him. She then goes for it and accuses him of destroying Tipoca City himself. She’s voted out of the senate for such a claim until the boys hand Omega the files, who hands it to Bail, who hands it to Senator Chuchi. They play the recording for all to see, and it’s the Venators destroying Tipoca City. The jig is up, and I couldn’t believe they actually showed this, I thought it’d be all over for the empire, until the floor opens up just as it did when yoda fought palpatine, and we see Palpatine in his pod, rising, Mas Amedda next to him.
Ian McDiarmid voicing Palptine as he should, brilliantly twists the scenario into his favour. They arrest Rampart, and blame him for being rogue. He thanks Chuchi for exposing a rogue element in the empire’s ranks. Palpatine says he’ll be punished, however, he didn’t act alone. He blames the clones, too, and asks the senate if they really trust such a callous maneuver by such beings. He believes this legislation is their future, and that the imperial storm troopers will protect everyone from such things ever happening again.
Brilliantly he had a backup plan should he be exposed, and the twisted everything to his advantage. The fate of all clones are now doomed from this. Either way, they were doomed.

Could the clone assassin be a Sparti clone because he wasnt the most accurate this could be due to the even faster accelerated cloning
@@ZaWardo151 I have no problem with the OT or the PT, but ST is an abomination. My opinion of the fans of the ST is that they must not have brain cells to rub together. Not only are they absolutely atrocious movies with the Star Wars title strapped to them, but overall they are just outright horrible movies. Especially considering how one third of the trilogy is spend retconning another third of the trilogy, and the first movie, the first third, is just rehashed ideas of the original OT movie done very poorly. They were made like Monty Python films without any of the humor. There is only sad.
Never heard of this Plapatine guy
@@ElQkes I thought not, it's not a story the Jedi would tell you
Easily the best episodes of the season yet. A Clone Rebellion is now pretty much imminent and I believe that's going to be the overall goal of this series or this season. While it won't be on Kamino sadly, it's still going to happen now. Most likely Rex, Echo, and, hopefully, Cody will be leading that effort to save their brothers and fight against the Empire. Saying goodbye to Echo wasn't really surprising in hindsight. He's expressed throughout this season how annoyed he is with these small jobs for Cid and how the BB need to fight back. I'm hoping this is a sign that the BB are going to soon break away from Cid and go onto bigger and better things because they can't keep doing these things for Cid forever.
Palpatine himself was so good in this episode and reminds us all how strategic and cunning he is. No matter what the outcome was, he was getting the Stormtrooper Program he wanted. If the evidence wasn't shown, he'd still get it. When the evidence WAS shown, he twisted the whole revelation to his favor and got the Senate to give in to what he wants. Rampart's fate, I'm willing to bet, is to become one of the first Death Troopers or Dark Troopers prototypes as punishment for his failure in keeping the Kamino bombardment a secret. This is who Palpatine is; someone who's always five steps ahead of everyone else and has numerous backup plans.
Great set of episodes and I'm hoping next week it continues on.
my friend i don't see how rampart fits as a death trooper lol he is not that good i think crosshair will be the first deathtrooper i hope so at least
@@scemer4719 Well, he'll be a "test subject" to see what needs to be done to improve them.

Hard to believe someone would put in so much effort to write a whole essay
Nice work 👍
Best reason of how we don't see many clones during the Rebellion. It makes sense that old palps was afraid he'd no longer have control of em. And yes, this has most definitely got me watching bad batch again. For a while, I was a whole lot of disappointed in it. But its just like watching season one of the CW where it was made for children and grew into a darker and more murky cartoon series. Love it
Oh man 😍 I get excited thinking about a clone uprising 🤝
Imagine how the clones that were arresting Rampart must've felt when Palpatine was insulting them and expressing how much he wanted to replace them
Shock troopers, those clones don't care, i think that they could execute order 66 even without the inhibitor chip and esitation
@@rider_of_rohan15 you got a point
@@luciusdomitiusaurelianus5334 The irony of the situation... Clones who saw the frontline became empathetic and understanding. Clones who only worked in the back became cold and unyielding...
I would like to think the CG were understanding in the sense of respecting their soldiers, basically anyone who served. Don’t bring up Fives, that situation was blinded and twisted enough as it was, people always trash Fox for doing something he was ordered to do based on what he’s gotten on reports. Not to mention Fives being seen as hostile even before he held up the blaster.
Commander Fox showed respect to Anakin in a way, I mean he doesn’t say anything particularly warm but you saw the respect in tone. But of course Anakin didn’t show that back after refusing his request lol.
Or Commander Thorn showing his undying fight in the last moments. The CG ultimately have faith in their duty, while they’re colder sure- they aren’t machines. Someone’s gotta bare the red strips, and not all of them were simply stationed on a planet 24/7- Thire went out there and fought in the frontline a few times I’m sure.

I don’t think Pantora will stay in the Empire for too much longer, especially after the assassination attempts on their Senator
What if Pantora becomes a haven for the clones in the future?
@@thedarkoracle4807 that would be nice
@@thedarkoracle4807 that's actually a good idea to think about
Star Wars Squadrons gives you the ability to make your Imperial pilot a Pantoran. Some of them may have deserted the Empire, but some clearly stayed loyal to it.
Empire would never let it slip like that.
These episodes were awesome. The fact they brought back Senator Chuchi was a delightful surprise. Tresspass is one of my favorite clone wars episodes

Same here. I remember being 9 Yeats old when it first aired. Really nostalgic seeing her again

Emperor Palpatine is sone sneaky & evil son of a sith. He played Clone Force99 right into his hand. It's was checkmate before it even started. Man, these two episodes were pretty intensed. Loved every minute of it!
Fr
Same!
I love how when Palpatine made his entrance, the entire tone just became eerie. As if a demon had just entered the room.
And you wonder if certain characters such as Omega could just feel the evil oozing off of Palpatine like Leia did in a Legends comic.
And we all knew that when he showed up he had already won…
Yeah, at least at the end, Rex knew this whole scheme was on Darth Sidious . He always hated him for what he did to his brothers and his Jedi generals.
No joke, you could feel everything go cold when he rose up
Since everyone can feel the force to a certain extent and Palpatine is no longer concealing his dark side connection, it is reason enough to believe that they can literally feel the evil dark side aura off Palpatine. His menacing appearance also contributes to this fact.
Yeah it was eerie as hell lol went quite
If Hunter is like Omega's Father, then Echo is like the Uncle who will adopt you if your parents die
He's the Godfather.
She’s older than them, but I still think the sentiment is there.
and Senator Tucci sounds like the mother...

These 2 episodes were probably some of the best of the season currently
3 was definitely the best
@@Captain_Insano_nomercy agree
Best of series
episode 3 was the best after that yes these two are taking the second place
@@scemer4719 agree
Some amazing episodes today, A great breakdown as always Theory. The way the emperor managed to twist the attack on Tipoca city for his own benefit in his speech and to get the stormtrooper bill passed was incredible to watch.
I REALLY love how they brought in the clone assassins. These clones actually trained in live fire exercises against captured Jedi Padawans to specifically kill Jedi
That’s so sick I was glad to see them
I don't feel well so I'm just gonna sum them up as amazing. And holy crap. Seeing THE SENATE rise up in the center of the chamber. Great storytelling in these episodes good that someone is trying to stick up for the clones (Riyo Chuchi)
Palpy is just brilliant he always finds a way to win and make himself look good. The way he turned the situation in episode 8 in his favour was Chefs kiss.
It’s painfully realistic how he shifts the blame to some subordinate to get out of trouble and make himself look better. I thought this was supposed to be a fun Star Wars adventure not a documentary on the actual military politics lol.
The emperor showing up was awesome!! We need more of him!!
dude there’s like 3 trilogy of movies involving him especially the prequel
@@ROGALLYWORLD yeah
Also, hearing Palpatine giving out a chilling speech right as Rampart gets taken away is so empowering on many levels. However, given that he just sealed the fates of all the clones at the same time while giving this speech, that's just downright cold.
Seeing Corucant again was like coming home after years away at the
OuterRim Sieges.
These two episodes were my favorite so far
corisont
Croissant 🥐
Koresant
Colulusant
Incredible story telling. This and the prior Solitary Clone episode is what we are all here for. Lets keep it going.
I rewatched palpatines entrance multiple times after the scene first happened. Everything from the literal siren sounding before he emerges at the centre of it all, everyone suddenly going silent and looking shocked, the fact that he knows he doesn't even have to hide his eyes anymore and plainly dresses like a sith emperor infront of the galactic senate. Just perfect
I loved the part where a bit of Anakins dark deeds played over the climax of palpatines speech like it did in RoTS
I like to imagine that the drop in quality from clone troopers to stormtroopers can all be traced back to an extra in “A New Hope” hitting his helmet on the doorframe
During E7, right before Slip is killed, he tells Chuchi that he saved a backup of the ship's logs to the central system. In other words, official logs were likely doctored, but Slip hid an unaltered copy somehow. He and the rest of the Clones probably know far more about the ship's databanks than Rampart does.
Facts 💯
I think it was mentioned once I'm both episodes.
That palpatine monologue and manipulating …. Chefs kiss
These episodes were so good and as a big fan of the clones when the clone theme played that hit like a brick
I hope in the final season, there’s a war between clones and storm troopers. Like I imagine, they’re the ones who created this rebellion.
@@disneyknightspadilla1406 thatd be sick but i dont think they are gonna do that

man i loved these, leaving echo was fair enough but i felt there could’ve been so much more character development for echo these past two seasons
I agree. Hopefully now that he's with rex we can get some work on his character. I suspect Echo will be dead by the time of the rebellion tho sadly
@@adrielvega5432 I was thinking the same thing as we don’t see him with wolffe, Rex, or Gregor in rebel, I’m sure he’ll die off
The season 2 finale is called “Plan 99”. Sounds like a play on Order 66 but in reference to the Bad Batch, Clone Force 99. Maybe that episode will reveal the true reason Omega was created and some hidden abilities she might have.
I think it’s more likely to be a plan for the clone rebellion, with 99 just referring to the bad batch
79s cantina was so lively with clones in the clone wars. You can really see how the empire ruling has changed the clones overall vibe, just a small thing.
Absolutely amazing episodes! What an ending! Really good stuff! Wow! Great action and story and politics and scenery! And Ian of course killed it as palpatine!
I actually thought the assassin was Boba but it still is an interesting thing that there are assassin clones. Loved both episodes and I'm glad Chuchi didn't get killed off and Palpatine's scene was amazing, Ian McDiarmid is an amazing actor. I think one reason for putting both on the episodes on the same day is because of the Super Bowl. Since a lot of people will be focused on that this weekend, and will probably be talking about it the week after, they probably wanted to show the whole story of these two episodes so that people will be focused on watching this during this week. Love your channel and continue to wish you luck on Vader Episode 2.
I’m gonna be so mad if Cody died cause of Rampart. And the best Bad Batch episodes involved heavily on clones. This is what Bad Batch should be a revenge against the empire which I’m hoping to see clones vs stormtroopers like in Battlefront 2
Stormtroopers don't stand a chance in hell lmao
@@triple-d2640 depends on numbers. One on one Clones are better no doubt. But Stormtroopers in canon are still very accurate (yes I know it sounds weird but what do you expect when in the OT they were firing at the main characters, in Andor in the final episode we saw how accurate they were) and with numbers, their better/advanced weapons, and better/advanced war strategies they’d defeat the clones pretty easily actually. Stormtroopers get too much disrespect.
@Donovan Pitts I'm not saying the stormtroopers are just dumb. But we're talking about ordinary soldiers vs clones of Jango fett who are trained for war from birth
@@triple-d2640 Ik and I’m saying depending on the circumstances and numbers the Stormtroopers would crush the Clones.
the moment at the end when echo parted ways with the bad batch really gave me chills. it’s great that echo is finally getting more spotlight and coverage after mainly being an outcast the previous season. phenomenal episode to say the least, and i can’t wait for the next one!
RIP Slip and Cade, you will be missed
i LOVE how rex pulls back the mask on the assassin to reveal he was a clone. Very nice callback to episode 5 when luke cuts off “Vader’s” head in the cave on dagobah and his mask breaks revealing luke’s face. Thought that was a great touch from the writers adding to the division between clone brothers who fight for or against the empire.
I hope we see a clone rebellion as the finale for this show
I’m sure they’ll be a nice one
The way Faloni wrote these characters had me jumping up and down my seat, I was practically rooting for Rampart to have something bad happen, I hated him so much because of what he did to our precious clones, on how he ended Kamino, the home of our clones, how he tortured the poor brothers. I know he was following orders but man, that look on his face when he got arrested!
But boy what amazing episodes these two were, quick story, I was re-watching clone wars to hype my self up for the show and I watched the Talz episode with Chuchi right before, how ironic she was in these two episodes. She is such a pure character showing compassion for clones when no one else does, putting 'We're clones! We're expendable', 'Not to me.' to a new level.
I love seeing the clones perspectives and palpatine at the end was phenomenal. His monologue shows how manipulative he is and how he had such a hand in controlling the galaxy and swaying everything to his side whilst also upholding his reputation. What a beast.
Echo leaving got me kind of emotional, we knew him from some of the first episodes of the Clone Wars, he was best buddies with Rex, I knew this was imminent, I think everyone did, but seeing him actually leave was kind of sad. Omega is becoming more and more likeable, I feel like Faloni is doing what he did with Ahsoka to Omega, having her grow up and mature throughout the episodes, the 'Yes, sir.' at the end had a lot of power for me, I really hope Echo comes back one day, I don't want to see him go : (
Anyways, those are just my thoughts and opinions. Keep up the amazing work Theory, love your content : )
@whatsa115 almost had me believing u were theory and pinned me for a sec. maybe one day
I absolutely love both of these episodes. It's bittersweet to see that Echo's arc is going on full circle so far. Towards the end of the Clone Wars series, he leaves Rex to join the bad batch and then in TBB S2, he leaves that squad to reunite with Rex and join him to form a clone rebellion.
Releasing the two eps at the same time was one of the best decisions they've made. They're just so good.
If I heard Slip correctly, Rampart did alter the logs. But Slip/Cade made a backup copy of the real events and hid it.
Such banging episodes. I loved being there for this watch party!
Easily the best two episodes of the season. This shows me they can world build while deepening the overarching story. Star Wars needs this quality of story telling for a full season
I loved these episodes. This also plays into why the clone trooper in obi wan kenobi show was homeless and sitting alone on the streets.
not the obi wan show...it could have been something better
@@matthewflores4183 oh definitely, I just wanted to point out that it makes much more sense that people were letting a veteran of the clone wars go by the wayside and no one else gave anything to him in the context that palpatine manipulated people into thinking that clone troopers were dangerous and committed genocide just because for funsies
I was an advocating for the show really, just pointing out that a plot point makes more sense with this context, although I doubt that it was planned, it's neat that it lines up
It also adds to Obi-wan's reaction to the trooper
@@matthewflores4183bro at least contribute to what this person is saying, don’t need to bring up the quality of something every single time

Ok you got me there man!😂
Simple but effective; Palpatine's mind is like maze, he is so paranoid and intelligent that he makes plans for almost every outcome.
Great two part episodes this week.
These 2 episodes weren’t really what I would call dark. But man the tone was for sure Heavy. And seeing Palpatine come into the scene definitely shifted the atmosphere. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I was hooked like a tick
These kinds of episodes always leave me on edge cause I know it won't end well no matter the heroes efforts.
I think we all knew Palpatine was coming by the end of episode 8 but the fact that he finally revealed that he would be phasing clones for stormtroopers was chills!
I wonder if the Kaminoan funds went to whatever the Empire is doing on Mount Tantiss. Anyways love seeing episodes like these and I love watching the breakdowns!
We need more of these episodes! This feels like SW. Absolutely brilliant
“Guys we convinced the “senate” to save the clones”
The Senate: are you sure about that
“And so they go to the Martez sister’s garage who aren’t around, thankfully.” Lol
It was great to see coruscant again and to see that it doesn’t change that much after like 5 years of war.
These two episodes were really good, definitely an ARC that was really interesting and with all the secrecy and running around Coruscant it really felt like TCW again.
I've been hoping a Clone Rebellion would happen and now it seems that it's fast approaching. I hope we get to see more of this along with the clone assassin and information about them and finally we get to see more of Echo and Rex and what they are up to.
Those episodes were amazing. Absolutely nailed the story for the transition from clones the stormtroopers
These two eps, were great, world building and actually we feel for Omega and Echo when they separate, finally adds humanity to them a bit more, and seeing palps a bit was cool, not to much not to little, things are better in moderation, and overall great
You see this is peak of clone wars/bad batch content. You get everything I love about the two. The politics, espionage, war and the interesting look on these clones. I really hope they keep this stuff going.
I love Coruscant so much. My fav SW planet.
Love how Palpatine did casually throw Rampart under the bus.
Masterclass.
Hey SWT, I nearly didn't catch it, but Slip had said just before that Clone assassin got to him that he had backed up all the logs on a secondary drive so that even if they wiped the logs, Slip ensured that the evidence was still available.
Much better episodes. Not sure I believe that they would let omega to wander into the capital but otherwise great. Echo leaving for me is the door opening for crosshair to come back. Sidious brilliant again
If they start to eliminate the clones, you’d imagine trust in Crosshair would fall in that as well. I could see the empire turning against Crosshair, causing him to finally come back to the BB
Finally something happen in season 2. These past few episodes have been a slog to get through.

Personally really happy to see Riyo, she's one of my favorite characters/leaders introduced in TCW. And gotta love how slippery-slimy ol' Palps is with that save, the man still got what he wanted.
These were some.powerful episodes my god the godly like entrance of the emperor him taking one thing turning it into another unreal
Palpatine playing 5D chess in these two episodes
Man hearing all your theory makes this recap of the show makes it so good and excellent breakdown these two parts of episode from beginning middle and end is something I wish we could have more.
To be honest I really didnt expect them to go through with Echo leaving the Batch. I mean its was forseeable, but I really did not think that they would actually do it
to me it just feels like the writers didnt know what to do with him so they wrote him out of the show... but at least they gave him closure instead of just killing him off or smt
This show is so frustrating because they can’t decide on what they want to do. They have episodes like this and then next week they’ll turn around and have another treasure hunting episode with Phee
I don't get why it's so bad that they have both. They can explore the characters and keep it lighthearted and then do episodes where they build the star wars universe and make it darker
Yeah i agree it is very frustrating honestly
@@gware11 the probem for me at least is that in thouse "treasure hunting" the batch usally takes the suporting role of the episode instead of the lead. a lot of the time they feel like special guests on their own show.
@@gware11 Exactly what happened with Clone Wars and Rebels, but people pretend it didn't. They had episodes r2d2 and c3po going to magical planets in the same season as umbara and Darth Maul Returning.
That's how it has been for ALL Star Wars shows; Including the Clone Wars, Rebels and Mandalorian.
Clone Wars especially would go from a brutal episode to fun silly droids or Jar jar episodes.
They both felt like they belonged in the clone wars series as opposed to the Bad batch. But that felt like a good thing.
Excellent episodes. We needed this level of amazing the whole season. So great to see Senator Chuchi again after all this time.
True
I think that Palpatine had many plans on how to get the senate to vote for stormtroopers and the get rid of the clones now Palpatine went with what was presented in the senate wich served his purpose. Palpatine is the very definition of patience and keeping it cool, he just wait things out to get his way.
Great Breakdown, but one thing - I don't recall from TCW that Papanoida was Chuchi's father... He had his own two daughters that were kidnapped and later rescued, but Chuchi was just a senator (an advisor to a senator before that)that was representing Pantora in the Senate :)
I’m pretty sure in the episode either Cade or Slip created a back up, and Rampart thought he deleted the footage of Kamino
Yeah that’s exactly what happened he had a back up on the ship
HOLY SHIT! That was amazing! No Cid, no boring filler. Just new lore and an incredible story. More of this please! Easily the best in the series so far
Excellent writers. Loved Palpatine's exegesis.
These two episodes were amazing
Can’t believe Echo gone..hope he make his way back to the squad in the future
I have a feeling this is where he's going to die
It seemed like he was ignored during season 1 and this season so far so it makes sense to send him off with Rex
Rewatching these episodes I just came to appreciate even more how much of a genius Kevin Kiner is. The palpatine theme is obvious but if you go to the moment that Senator Chuchi is first shown they throw it all the way back to when she negotiates with the Talz in season 1 of TCW. It’s subtle but just so impressive
Episodes 7 and 8 is really what Andor should have looked like! The discussion in the senate for these episodes was amazing, and the story was awesome! Sucks we didn’t get that in Andor…
These episodes were INCREDIBLE. Every episode should be as good as this!
I remember that they originally used another clone after jango and then later implemented the public for the military.
Really loved Vode An making a reappearance at the end of Episode 8. Really hit that Clone Commando nostalgia.
Great episodes, hope this season continues this quality from now on. No more filler, give us a clone rebellion.
There's no such thing as filler
never spotted George in his prequels but Producer Rick McCallum and sound designer Ben Burtt in the closing scene of Phantom Menace were easy to spot.
Ok so i wasn't crazy. they did release 2 episodes and i didn't just forget a week. Great to see Chuchi is still around. Always good to see senators besides Bail being not terrible. Very interested where they take all the clones from here on out. My own personal opinion. I have enjoyed every episode of this season so far bar the treasure hunting one. And i really like how despite this being called the Bad Batch, its actaully a method of seeing the galaxy post order 66 but pre rebellion proper
@whatsa489 no you're not, get the f outta here with your bot BS
Probably the best episodes of the entire series.
1:45 I think Shu Mai was killed by Vader on Mustafar, so I'm guessing that's just a different representative of the Commerce Guild ;)
This week’s episodes were great. Thanks for the breakdown
Hey Theory i am pretty sure Rampart did doctor the files since they mentioned that Slip backed up the file somewhere
These episodes had those “Simpson’s prediction vibes” with a sci-fi skin put on it 😂 Funny how much Biden visually resembles Palpatine too 🤣
Rampart did alter the logs - the ones the Bad Batch retrieved was a backup made by Slip/Cade
16:30 this feels like a Smurfette is hugging, clumsy.
And we can see how Emperor Palpatine twists everything up lol. Both episodes were AMAZING. Echo will have a great journey with Captain Rex.
@whatsa711 Bros trying to scam me LOL.
Except Echo isn't with him in Rebels, so Echo dies at some point before that
@@DS9TREK Yea that is true. Or maybe Echo leaves rex and joins a different rebel cell.
I didn't even realize there were two new episodes so I just watched the most recent one, meaning episode 8 with your watch party for episode 7. I got suspicious when you didn't flinch as Palps showed up :D
I think Echo paid his debt to the Bad Batch for saving him on Skako Minor and is now returning the favor for Rex and joining him again like he used to.
I wish every episode could tie into the larger story like this. The quality is so much higher in these episodes than in the 1 off filler episodes that don't move the story at all. And for the people crying "world building" or whatever you can and should do both.
5:20 You're forgetting that Omega also doesn't have accelerated aging because while she is an altered clone because of her obvious gender swap, she still has pure Jango DNA like Boba.
In the 79's bar scene in ep. 7 you can see Tech racing in the background. Seems it is being shown on Coruscant. So much for anonymity for the Bad Batch :D
Palpatine is a genius
Great breakdown! Just one thing I would like to bring up, Senator Chuchi wasn’t the one rescued by Ahsoka on the Trade Federations ship, it was both Ahsoka and Chuchi who had found Chi Eekway (the person standing with Chairman Papanoida as Anakin met with Palpatine) while the Chairman and his son, Ion, went to Tatooine so rescue is other daughter, Che Amanwe. Other then the one issue, the video was most excellent.
